“The birria de chivo was excellent, was tender and juicy, not dry. I ordered it to the side of the consumé and the consumé also had a good flavor. Didn't care much for the rice but other than that it was delicious! Definitely will be going back.“

“We've been wanting tacos while driving up the 99 and came across this place. To say the food was good is an understatement. We ordered a few asada tacos and a quesabirria. The tacos were great and the quesabirria is the best I've had. The orders also came with a bean tostada (delicious!), grilled onions, a chile torreado, and house chips. The consume for the quesabirria was nice and hot. They're open late so it's a perfect place to stop any time (8 to 11). To top it off, they even have a little drive thru.“

“With our local guide, we decided to stop at this small, unassuming road-side soda on our drive from Guayabo National Monument to Irazu volcano. We are so glad we did - this might have been our favorite meal during our two weeks in Costa Rica. Not sure if there was even a menu; our guide helped us order - casado for all. If you have not had casado, translated as "marriage," it is a typical Costa Rican meal that offers a complete plate. This one started with small bowl of delicious soup and ended with a small bowl of fresh fruit. The plate itself had beans, rice, fried plantains, fried local Turrialba cheese, hearts of palm, and a protein of choice. The stewed beef was incredibly tender and tasty. As with many typico meals, it included fresh fruit juice and the pineapple/guava flavor was delicious. And it was incredibly inexpensive.“

“Although I have not eaten other items from the menu, the menudo was fabulous! Cooked only on the weekend, this soup was filled with both a heavy helping of tripe and very tender pork feet. The soup was not over salted, unlike most of the menudo I have tried elsewhere, nor was its base thick or oily. The best part of this meal was Teresa's service. She was patient with my poor Spanish, and she introduced me to different chilies when she found out that I am a spice lover. This place is a must for those who love Menudo“

“Hands down the best tacos I have ever had in my life! I had the carnitas and the chorizo tacos. They had a great blend of grilled meat and sauces. And I come from a town that has pretty good Mexican food. I will come here every time I'm in town!“

“Absolutely delicious! Best food in California I've ever had. Made to order from scratch. Food from El Salvador.I stopped by restaurant as I had to make a work visit in the town. I walked in blind with no look at reviews, pictures, or the menu. The restaurant is unassuming from the outside and is located in a very rural town. In all honesty, if this food was served in a restaurant in any major city, it would be filled daily.The food was made to order so don't expect food to come out quickly. I received my order in about 15 minutes although the restaurant was empty. We were lucky on that day because they just had received a day before some fresh herbs that were from El Salvador. I've never had Salvadoran food but this restaurant has made me a huge fan.Food I ordered and ate: Mixtas Chicharron, Loroco (Pupusa), Platanos Fritos, and Repollo.The owner was so sweet and friendly. One would never know the best food in the United States is located in very rural areas made by very special people.“

“Can you believe this entree was only $7.50??? El Pollo Loco don't do it like this!!! The chicken was incredible. The seasonings were on point! I want to take all my friends here just for the chicken. The people that work here are welcoming & friendly. The horchata was on point as well as the other specialty drinks. Beans were good. Tho the tortillas & Mac Salad were just average to me. Honestly recommend this place to anyone. There are also a few parking spots you can probably snatch.“
