If you grew up eating authentic Pakistani food or have ever chased that real, unapologetic desi flavor, you know exactly what I mean when I say most places just don’t hit the mark. This one does. Every single metric — the spices, the freshness, the depth of flavor, the portions — it all checks out in a way that’s increasingly rare to find.
For years, Shahnawaz was my go-to Sunday brunch spot, and I loved it. But after discovering this place, there’s simply no comparison. The food here is better in every way. It’s not even close.
The only “problem”? It’s a bit hidden. No flashy signage, no hype machine behind it — just incredible food waiting to be found by the right people. And that’s exactly why I’m writing this. If you haven’t been, you are genuinely missing out.

“Shout out to Baran Mediterranean restaurant. We had a superbowl/ 50th birthday party yesterday and everything was literally perfect. Food/staff/ decorations/ cake, everything was perfect. “I recently tried Kimo’s Shawarma and it was honestly one of the best shawarma spots I’ve been to. The meat was incredibly flavorful, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, and you can tell everything is made fresh. The garlic sauce was rich and creamy without being overpowering, and it paired perfectly with the warm, soft pita.

The portions were generous, especially for the price, and the staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The place itself was clean and had a relaxed, casual vibe.

“I missed it so I had to do a U Turn. But let me say this, sometimes we think “oh that taste good for a cheap pizza “ well this isn’t the scenario here. The price is very affordable and the pizza is better than any chain pizza. Also better than most pizzas in the area. I highly recommend it. You can’t beat the price. The pizza has a strong hint of garlic which I don’t mind. I drove from Irvine and when I finished the pizza thought about driving back for another one! It was so good!! They do not do mediums here! Always when I go to this location Juila most of time is there and she was today also and is always very friendly and helpful! We have been going to so many locations for it and it was SOLD OUT! The staff was so nice to us and we can’t wait to come back again. “We first found Big Al's Pizzeria on IG. All of their pizzas caught our eye because of the unique flavors that they serve. We know that often times when you see something on IG and go experience a place in person it may not be as expected. That was NOT the case with Big Al's Pizzeria. WOW!! Can't even tell you how much they exceeded our expectations when it came to the flavors and textures that they deliver. You can tell that they use High Quality, Fresh Ingredients and take pride in their creations, especially with everything being homemade!! I know a lot of people say that it takes a while to receive their pizza but we can tell you IT IS WORTH THE WAIT AND CALORIES!! The combinations on their pizzas are next level and so fun and unique! The pizza dough has the perfect fluffiness, chewy texture and flavor. The wings WOW! Definitely in our top 5 of favorites! So crispy and flavorful! OOh plus the Brisket Sandwich and the bread they use... ufffff!!! Don't forget about Dessert! Even if you fill up on pizza you better at least take a slice home with you because IT IS WORTH IT!! They are large, creamy, flavorful and just AMAZEBALLS! We got the Tiramisu and it was NEXT LEVEL! Everything is OUT OF THIS WORLD and we can't recommend them enough!“

“Left Disneyland super late at like 1am on Valentine's Day. A Saturday. They were still open and they delivered exceptional pizza. Sent to our room at some crappy hotel with no food. They did their job to perfection. Definitely hitting them up again next time we're in town. Such a life saver for sure. We were tired and hungry and they came through with great service. “This was my second time visiting, and I loved the food and service. I’ve been to many halal restaurants around LA, so I can say the quality, quantity, and prices are spot on. In fact, the environment was very quite for family lunch or dinner.
​We ordered the honey walnut shrimp, the special three-flavor dough-sliced chow mein, orange chicken, and three-flavor fried rice but The honey walnut shrimp stole the show—it’s a must-have for shrimp lovers! The food looked so good that I forgot to take better pictures Lol. They also have Salaam cola. And their parking lot was so big.

“This place has the best NY PIZZA in socal that I have ever tried. Don’t let the name fool you, the straight cheese and pepperoni slices are on another level. The crispness of the dough and slightly salty beef pepperoni pair well with the cheese and sauce and gives a nostalgic deliciousness that hits every mark of what pizza is meant to be (in my opinion). Can’t wait to try the wings next time!!“
