“Went to get a take out butter chicken pizza. When I got home I was amazed how much toppings they added to the pizza. The whole pizza was filled with chicken! They don't skimp on thier meats! The pizza was delicious and my family loved it. It has that good curry spice to the pizza. One of the best indian pizzas I had recently. Keep up the good work, you gained a new repeating customer!“

Q) So, Rodney, where did you go for lunch?
A) To Pak.

Q) 2pac?! The rapper?!
A) No, to Pak. I went to Pak Halal in Artesia.

Q) Oh, I see. Was this your first time visiting?
A) Yes, Rodney. A few Muslim gym buddies o' mine kept recommending Pak Halal, so of course I had to give the place a shot.

Q) What did you order?
A) Being my first time, I gave the Special Dishes display a thorough perusing.

Knowing I wanted a beef or mutton entree, after much thought & deliberation, I went all in on Pak Halal's Beef Nihari.

Q) Rodney, how was the Beef Nihari?
A) Spiced tender beef, swimming in flavorful broth. I enjoyed the Beef Nihari. I prefer a solid amount of fat to meat, and the Beef Nihari had just what I was looking for. Ample portions, with enough to fill up on. Speaking of filling up, the ginormous Garlic Naan provided a lot of garlicky carbs, made all the more better when soaking up with the Beef Nihari broth

Q) How was the service, and what are the seating arrangements?
A) Rodney, the service was good. The wait wasn't unreasonable. Being a small deli, there is a table or two inside & outside. Pak Halal is more an order ahead, grab n' go eatery. The railing outside Pak Halal acts as a standing communal table, in which I used to dine on my meal.

Q) Rodney, would you recommend Pak Halal?
A) Absolutely, Rodney! The food was great at Pak Halal, and when I'm in a hurry and not looking for a sit-down restaurant experience, I know I can head over to Pak Halal and order something to go, or enjoy a quick meal on the railing, before life's troubles beckon me, elsewhere“

“My favorite Dave's Hot Chicken location since Oct 2024 Like all Dave's locations, they have the varieties of spice levels which makes them so unique and of course, they're delicious milkshakes are a hit every time I love how they're open late night The prices are pretty reasonable in my opinion and overall my favorite spot 💯 workers are nice. He literally CURED ME with one of THE MOST AROMATIC, FLAVORFUL, & DISHES EVER! Tas2Go… has REDEFINED: … comfort food, … fast food, … authenticity, … wholesomeness, … small business, … deliciousness, … high quality ingredients, … passion-inspired dishes, & … start-up exponential growth! (and growing) This is one of those foodie experiences you just have to have to say that you lived!!! My senses are have been in high alert since I first bit into my hawawshi! It’s like haunting 👻 me how immediate my senses were infused with a “ratatouille” ✨of flavors and aromas! As I was driving away, I debated turning back for seconds and still am as we’re quickly approaching closing time in 52 minutes and counting!!!! “We arrived earlier than the food truck and almost missed them, but luckily right as we were looking for dinner alternatives they pulled in! Absolutely delicious, we ordered the 24" chicken shawarma meal with extra pickles. The chicken was super delicious, and the fries really hit the spot. Highly recommend!“

“Decided to stop by here on the way to LA after a delicious ice cream treat. We ordered quesadillas and their tacos. The food was spot on and this is after us having some ice cream. The food is prepared outside on the parking lot in front of the store. I love their green sauce and they’re very generous with their cilantro and onions. The service was amazing as the young lady made great recommendations and she was very nice. The ambience is nice because you have a choice of sitting outside on a nice day or if it’s cold you have the choice to sit inside the marketplace.“

AMAZING homemade style food! If your looking for a warmth service you got it! If your looking for freshness you got it! If your looking for a nice smiley service, you got it! You won't regret it. I had a cheeseburger with a smile served and their famous sugar cane water. Superb. I also had a Chai tea. Delicately Hot and I warmed my hands up as I sipped away and day dreamed. Try this place out, its very peaceful here. You will not regret it a bit. Money well spent here.

“I was there in California from another state. We ordered jalapeños beef burgers, halwa puri platters, beef seekh kabobs with rice platter, masala fries, mango lassi and sweet lassi. Each and every single food item was fresh and hot, seekh kabobs were so juicy and perfect flavor, cholay were soft and with some light gravy to eat with puri. Aalo were soft yet some small size chunks in plate with light gravy, and halwa that you just don’t want to stop eating. My kids are very picky eaters but they loved each and every single thing we ordered from this restaurant. Beef burger was so yummy that my daughter kept ordering the next time we went there again. We ended up going 3 times in our 1 week trip. We tried their fried chicken the third day, oh my gosh it’s just one of the best fried chicken ever. We were so glad that we were able to find a halal restaurant with all the choices at one place for our kids and adults. Last but not the least, their prices were very reasonable and the staff was very nice and friendly.“

“We had such a great experience at Afghan Kabob House in Downey! The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor.

We ordered the family platter, which feeds four and comes with two lamb shanks that were incredibly tender and delicious, along with chicken kebab, lamb kebab, beef kebab, and koobideh. It was a great way to try a little bit of everything!
Comes with Qabuli rice which was really good!
We also ordered the Borani Banjan, an eggplant dish served with yogurt sauce, and it was SO good! Definitely a must-try. If you’re looking for a vegan option, just ask the restaurant about their preparation and ingredients.

The mantu (beef dumplings) were another favorite of mine, and we finished our meal with firni for dessert!

Everything was great quality and tasted fresh. The service was also fast, friendly, and attentive. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you’re looking to enjoy authentic Afghan food in Downey! ❤️“

I had just returned from several months in Indonesia the food at Toko Rame was pretty authentic and had a good taste of Indonesian flavor. I ordered the egg noodles with chicken and ate everything😊 There are some lunch specials and they have many traditional Indonesian drinks. I shared the menu with my friend in Jakarta and she said the menu had many items common in Sumatra. “We first found Big Al's Pizzeria on IG. All of their pizzas caught our eye because of the unique flavors that they serve. We know that often times when you see something on IG and go experience a place in person it may not be as expected. That was NOT the case with Big Al's Pizzeria. WOW!! Can't even tell you how much they exceeded our expectations when it came to the flavors and textures that they deliver. You can tell that they use High Quality, Fresh Ingredients and take pride in their creations, especially with everything being homemade!! I know a lot of people say that it takes a while to receive their pizza but we can tell you IT IS WORTH THE WAIT AND CALORIES!! The combinations on their pizzas are next level and so fun and unique! The pizza dough has the perfect fluffiness, chewy texture and flavor. The wings WOW! Definitely in our top 5 of favorites! So crispy and flavorful! OOh plus the Brisket Sandwich and the bread they use... ufffff!!! Don't forget about Dessert! Even if you fill up on pizza you better at least take a slice home with you because IT IS WORTH IT!! * Combo #2 (Mean Sandwich, 1 Tender, Kale Slaw & House Sauce) -
The sandwich was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The tender was excellent, and the kale slaw and house sauce complemented everything perfectly.

* Mac & Cheese (Mild) -
Creamy, cheesy, and delicious. The perfect side to pair with the chicken. Next time I may take it up a notch to medium for a different taste experience.
The atmosphere feels similar to a classic burger spot; casual and welcoming. I chose to eat inside, where there was some noise, but it was completely bearable. If you prefer, there is also ample outdoor seating available.

The service was friendly and attentive. Wendy, along with who I assume was the owner, were both helpful, welcoming, and made sure I was taken care of throughout my visit.

Expect about a 10-15 minute wait for your food, but that's because everything is made fresh to order. The quality was well worth the wait.
