Ma’s House Chinese Halal in Poway offers authentic Chinese food (not Chinese American) with generous portions and excellent flavor. The staff are absolutely lovely and incredibly welcoming. One customer accidentally ordered from the wrong location for pickup but was ready to pay a second time; the staff insisted they did not pay again and prepared the food anyway. The food is outstanding, full of flavor, and Halal. Every dish ordered is great, with big portion plates that are easy to share. Specific recommended dishes include 麻辣三样 (the spicy cold dish of tripe), 芝麻大饼加葱 (green onion bread, so so good fresh), and 红烧牛肉汤面 (braised beef noodle soup with massive chunks of beef). The meat has excellent flavor, and the vegetables are crisp and fresh. Lunch specials come with a good-sized bowl of soup and a deep fried spring roll. Even overnight, the food tastes amazing. It is one of the best in the area, and customers will definitely return whenever they have a hankering for a good Oriental lunch.
