“El Viejon Seafood in the Convoy area, and it was such a great experience! Even though we showed up about 20 minutes before closing, the staff was incredibly welcoming and didn’t rush us at all. The guy at the counter was especially friendly, he took the time to answer our questions and gave some awesome recommendations.

We ordered a variety of dishes, and everything was on point. The tuna tostada was super fresh topped with fried onions and avocado such a delicious combo. The coqueta tostada was a standout too, with both cooked and raw shrimp plus octopus… seriously an explosion of flavor. The kids loved their fish and chips, which were perfectly seasoned, and the birria tacos were absolutely to die for, the consommé tied it all together perfectly.

Everything came out fresh and hot, and you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The only downside at this location is the limited seating, it might be tricky for larger groups. But overall, we’ll definitely be coming back!“

“Owner is a super nice guy, place really gives off a local casual dining feeling.

Real standout is the fried oysters, nicely fried and the side sauce is a hit. Hush puppies are nice too. Fish and chips are alright, crinkle cut fries not my favorite and it's a simple fried light batter fish, but definitely not bad for the price. Fried scallops are ok.“

“Okay, the food was certainly very good for the price. I had Ahi, it is only offered medium to well done. There was no pink in the middle. Probably a safety issue. Mom had two fish, salmon and another. The salmon was a bit fishy tasting. I am picky! But, overall, the price was low, staff friendly, there was an ample quantity, with rice, and, if I remember correctly, a small salad.
It's an order at the counter, staff bring the food to your table experience. There is indoor and outdoor seating.“

“Absolutely excellent food. I went with my Taiwanese friend and he said every dish we got was perfectly authentic. We order the biang biang noodles, mapo tofu, liang pi cold noodles with sesame, and green beans with eggplant. I was enthralled by each dish and enjoyed every bite. Each dish felt like my favorite, but I have to say that the eggplant wowed me thoroughly. Can’t wait to come back!!!

“Himalayan Grill has been one of my go-to places since 2018, and it never disappoints! The food is absolutely awesome, full of flavor, and always satisfying.

My regular favorites are the chicken steamed momo, chicken chow mein, chicken sandekho, and daal makhani — everything tastes amazing every single time. And their special hot sauce is just next level! It adds the perfect kick and makes the food even better.

“First time visiting Hakumaru Sushi in 4S Ranch and I was really impressed! Although the restaurant is small, it feels spacious. The vibe is decidedly classy with rich dark hues, yet well lit. Service could not have been more professional, friendly, and accommodating. I ordered the Chicken Yakitori Bowl and it was excellent. Chunks of tender, tasty chicken thigh grilled with tare, green onion, cabbage and bell pepper, served over white rice. I also appreciated their use of stemless wine glasses. Highly recommended.“

“Cute, casual Thai option in Rancho Bernardo near High Country West. The menu options are varied. The Thai iced tea was huge. The waitress was polite. $2 up-charge for brown rice. Several tables inside or take-out. Decent amount of parking in the lot (slightly tight) or street parking. Would visit again.“

I saw this taco shop and it was packed and you know about packed restaurants it usually a good place to eat. I havd the carnitas tacos the number 12 and kids got the same and wifey got the menudo and all we have to say about his place "IS IT WAS THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD I HAVE HAD IN A LONG TIME!!!!!!" “Dining in today at Thai Time proved relaxing and the mock chicken Panang dish on the lunch menu would be my recommendation.Loaded with lots of bell pepper and some pineapple, I opt for the mild level of spicy. Just remembering back in the days when the Crime Lab and Sheriff’s Records were across the street at Mt. Etna. They could use more foot traffic, now that public services with the County of San Diego relocated and business in the area has been marginalized! “Loved the Korean cuisine at Chon Ju Jip on Convoy Street! Nice, small, family style restaurant that makes you feel you are dining at someone’s home. We enjoyed the #25 bossam and #32 Jap-chae. Everything was delicious, definitely one of the top if not top Korean food in San Diego. Friendly staff and the food came out quick. There can be a line and wait depending on the time you go.
