“If I could give no stars I would. I’m so upset about this experience. It has been the worst I’ve ever been through! I booked with this hotel back in September for a stay in October for my 35th birthday. They called and canceled because of “remodeling” so end of October comes and I didn’t get the confirmation yet. I called and the were SO rude! “Hi what do you want?” ( rude!) I explained the situation they said oh ok let me help. We got it figured out only to get confirmation for one room! And mind you had to reschedule for November! Ok so we will celebrate our anniversary. I called Roger back and the front desk said “ who are you and why do you want Roger?” Ummm excuse me? So this happened literally FIVE fricken times. Then today I see they charged me three times for my room and one time for the other room. I call, and they said what? No only twice. And I said No I am looking at my account now and it’s three times and said well I’ll talk to my accountant. I’m so upset because my husband called and they wouldn’t work with us and cancelled our room! They gave me all but one charge back. This has been the worst experience of our lives in booking with a room! Thanks for ruining my birthday and anniversary weekend. Fuck YOU!”

“Food, service, and atmosphere are all amazing! We had the four course meal. The Grilled Scallop and Oysters Louie are a must try! Loved the fire cooked Pizza! The Skirt Steak was delicious! Went with the smoked Custard, Awesome!”

“We had a very long tiring trip through the mountains just to get to our lodge in Lucia because we had to avoid the landslide closure on Hwy 1. It was exhausting driving, then 2 hours at the Hearst Castle where you aren’t allowed to eat or drink anything. .. no coffee anywhere on our route… just to find out the castle cafe was closed when we got back from the tour. I said all that to say this.. The young man behind the counter was closing and the look on my face must have spoke to him because he quickly told me he would make us food and me an Americana.. first his kindness brought tears to my tired eyes and secondly that coffee was THE BEST I’ve had. The hot sandwiches and fresh salad were delicious and the portions were large. We took half of it back up the lodge to eat later. This one decision by him to accommodate me and my grandsons completely turned this stressful day into a much better one. The cafe and store were clean, bathrooms were clean and easily accessible. The staff were friendly and helpful and the area around the cafe and store is peaceful and attractive. Plenty of parking and the walkways were easy to navigate. I highly recommend this establishment and look forward to visiting again.”

“This has always been the go to spot for me on my way back from Laguna Seca and World Superbike/MotoGP races. I always got the BBQ Chicken, an endless cup coffee and of course the grand finale was a huge piece of delicious carrot cake. No rushing, no problem sitting there hanging out chatting with the help and guests. They recognized me when I would come in year after year on my motorcycle. Great place, can’t beat the view. The food was fantastic, the service impeccable. I would give more than five stars if I could.”
