“The food is very good, but the girl upfront taking orders has a very very bad attitude. I usually call to put my order, and when she picked up the phone she answered in a bad manner. I was barely giving her the my order and after the first item she was already giving me the total. I also asked for 2 large horachatas and when I got there to pick up my order: 1. She kept on yawning and 2. When she gave me the total and gave me my items, the 2 horchatas were missing. I asked if she had charged them and she said with a bad attitude,”I did not charge you because you did not order them” I said, “I did, over the phone” and then she said:”well, I could here anything”. Girl, if you are reading this review, everyone has to work unless you are rich, you don’t have any good customer service skills, either take a class or quit this job and get one where you aren’t dealing with people. I would have given 5 star but the customer service given is the worst.”

“George (the owner) and his staff were incredibly hospitable and source food consciously. The baba ghanoush and falafel were INCREDIBLE, even by comparison to dishes I've had while travelling in the middle east. Highly recommend to anyone visiting San Diego! Well worth the drive from down town (better quality, better price). Bonus for LOTS of vegetarian and vegan options.”

“Been going here since I was a kid. Was super bummed out when they closed the original location. So happy when they opened this one! They kept the same recipes and the family still owns it. They're awesome too! Favorite pizza in spring valley by far and I'd put their bread sticks up against any. They're the best.”

“Came here during their happy hour and they offer some pretty good deals. Got their mastiff fries, Brussels sprouts, and smash burger slider. Each of these were $5. They also offer $5 off all their whole pizzas. Took advantage of this and ordered their That's My Boy pizza. Suuuuuper good. Comes with pepperoni, ricotta cheese, jalapeño, honey, and red sauce. The balance of spiciness and sweetness is perfect. I noticed they had a bunch of beers on draft so it would be a great place to chill and have some drinks, too.”

“I recently visited a new restaurant and was impressed with the excellent service provided by the attentive staff. They had an extensive menu with a lot of food options that I wasn't familiar with. After some consideration, I decided to try the beef noodle soup and JCK pork dumplings, and I was delighted to find that they were delicious. I am definitely planning to return to this restaurant in the future.”

Sometimes it’s hard to find good food that I can eat out and serve my family. “This place is one of the best kept secrets in Lakeside. I've lived here for over 15 years and never even knew about this place so when I ate here for the first time, I was floored. “This is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Before I even finished it, I was already looking at the menu of what I am going to get next time. Went in to place the order, being it was my first time, and they were very quick.. I ordered the Jack Hammer on Rye, which is very delicious. This will be my go-to lunch spot. There was so much meat on the sandwiches and came with a small side of potato salad or macaroni salad. Great quality and friendly service..Update. Ordered The Godfather (hot) very very good as well 10/10.”

“Had the Ahi sandwich, with avocado. It was delicious! The owner came to our table to check up on how we were doing, very nice!! Appreciated the attention all associates took to make sure we enjoyed our lunch. The potato chips were made from scratch, I gathered them up and took them home, they were so good!! All ingredients are super fresh, this is a rare experience that you will not want to miss!!!”

Love the staff, everyone is attentive, friendly, and even when busy they are so accomodating. Food is great and they have specials from 4-5pm every day! Wine list is so long, and they offer a great deal if you want to try a flight. Sommelier is excellent at recommending things. Only one restroom, unisex/shared so don't wait till the last second! Parking in back, two spots in front and on street.”

“Taquizas Tommy did a fabulous job catering my Mexican themed bridal shower! Tommy’s wife, Maria, and Miguel cooked an amazing feast that everyone raved about. The meat was flavorful, the rice and beans were delicious. Everybody was full and happy. Communication, service, and food were 5 stars and we look forward to using Tommy and his team again soon!”
