48 Best American Restaurants in Redding

“I’m giving 4 stars even though more went wrong than went right. I hope this feedback can help this place succeed because it has potential.
Starting off, my partner and I both ordered a Coke, but the server came back to the table, explaining it was too “watery”. We were given Sprite instead.
My partner ordered the shrimp po boy, but was given the catfish po boy.
I ordered the catfish and was asked if I wanted ranch dressing with it. I asked for tartar sauce and was told they don’t have tartar sauce. They served it with a remoulade. As a Southern transplant, I love a good remoulade, but that does not go with catfish 🫤.
The food came out pretty quickly, but I was disappointed there was only one piece of catfish. In the South, you’d get 2 (minimum) or 3-4 pieces of fish.
I didn’t want a meal of mostly fries, so I left hungry (personally, would love to see a side of mac+cheese or a side salad option).
Our meal was over $65 for two people and we only got 1/4 of what we ordered. As we ate, our drinks were never refilled and the server never checked on our table again because he seemed to be the only one working.
Also worth noting - we sat in the back and the restrooms smelled awful!! I am not advocating for the restaurant to mask the smell with a bunch of air fresheners, but they desperately need to pour some bleach or vinegar down the floor drains to eliminate the mildew.
Not a great first impression, but I’d give it another chance because I am always looking for good Southern food in Northern California.“

“We had all sorts of pizza from them and they were all delicious 😋 the whole extended family and family couldn’t resist. They are 100% better than the dominoes. There wasn’t a piece left out of 6 pizzas. And they also put them in a thermal bag to keep them hot till I got back to wallangarra. Great food 👍🏻👍🏻“

“We tried Lumberjacks again today after reading reviews on the Redding Restaurant Review and hearing they had new management and we were very impressed! The new manager, I believe his name tag said Gary was very personable, he was greeting folks as they came in and left. The food was hot, fresh and back to the normal portion sizes they used to have. We had stopped going due to poor management and just complete lack of customer care with the old manager. We will definitely be back! New management and team are wonderful 👏 😀.“

“Description of food did not include that vinegar is utilized in the recipe for San Francisco Joe’s Scramble. The vinegar so dominated the dish that I was unable to take more than one bite. Took home in hope other family might enjoy. Rest of meal was great. Bought fresh baked sliced loaf of bread to take home. Service Stellar!“

“Not only is the food amazing, the staff was so kind and friendly. My husband and I rolled in this morning after a particularly rough night, and we were greeted with a warm smile and friendly greeting. We were getting our food to go, and were treated with kind attentiveness. Then, when got it good home, the food was delicious. I got the Oaxaca and it's my new favorite breakfast food. My husband enjoyed his more simple breakfast of eggs, sausage, potatoes, and muffin. The jam they gave him for the English muffin was SO good. His might have been more simple, but it was very well executed. (My photo does not do the flavor justice.)“

“Great bacon burger and fries. I didn't want the special sauce and asked for peanut butter instead and they accommodated me. Kids burgers were fabulous, bought the fry special, buy 3 fries, get four. Ice cream shake and ice cream for the kids were excellent.“

“Great eggs Benedict and chicken fried steak. Waitress was kind and quick and the atmosphere was good. Did not see the train turned on but I bet it’s really neat to see. Could have played some country music to add to the ambience! Over all really good breakfast!“

So, when we needed to schedule a party for our friend who was going to celebrate her 100th birthday, we chose Huffs....not knowing what to expect. We'll, we were totally blown away by the magnificent buffet presentation they created!!! And, the food? We had over 60 people there and had compliment after compliment on the food!! Delicious!!! Personally they handled EVERYONE like we were All precious cargo. Amazing!!! Would we do it agai? YES! Would we recommend Huff's ....YOU BET!! FANTABULOUS AND DELICIOUS!“

“I was instantly greeted by a friendly waitress who let me pick my place to eat. Drink was out fast and was ready to order food. I ordered the firecracker fish tacos, which came out timely. They were delicious, probably the best I've had. Was a very pleasant dinner but pretty pricey.“

“So never been here, and again the kid picked this place out. I had the chicken sandwich with their slaw and it was amazing! The kid had a chicken bowl and he really liked it. It was pretty fast and although the parking lot seemed almost deserted, there was plenty of free parking, even for several buses! Lee was very sweet and nice and her co-worker was also super helpful, but I forgot her name. I found out their menu comes from Hawaii, and 2 Asian styles of food. For the price it was quite excellent. A little on the plain side for atmosphere, but if you sat in some of the alcoves they designed into the lay out, (see photos) it would probably feel more cozy. I would definitely come here again. I did talk to a customer who says she comes quite often because the one in Palo Cedro closed and she goes here when she can!“

“My husband and I have loved every single meal we have had at Paradisio's! As far as we are concerned , they are the best restaurant in Redding! It is a great place for a romantic date night or any other night. The food is stellar so is Chef Mike and Amber“

“This was our first time to In-N-Out burger Although the front was fairly clean and organized. The workers were nice and friendly. However the bathrooms are deplorable. For a restaurant this size and this caliber, the restrooms should be in much better.“

“Damburger is one of the best places in Redding CA to get a burger, shake and fries. I personally have been going there on and off for over thirty year's. Always had the best experience with employees and owners. Everyone at Damburger has always been an absolute delight and extremely helpful.“

“Vintage Public House hosted our dinner for 35 guests, and everything was exceptional. Star was our server and did a phenomenal job. She handled our group’s special requests with grace, efficiency, and enthusiasm.

Planning the event was easy, and communication with the Vintage team was consistently responsive and friendly. If you’re looking to host a corporate dinner in the Redding area, I highly recommend this venue.

“We so love this restaurant!! The breakfast is amazing and the dishes they offer are tasteful. The prices are great and the chefs know how to cook. The environment here is nice... it feels a bit like a winery inside. Dark and quiet, with warm wood and classy decor. The women serving here are outstanding! “The buffet is the best kept secret in the area. Amazing crab and prime rib. We having been going for years and it is always good. However, very disappointed in the new bartender who was rude and didn't want anyone to sit at her bar. Never experienced that before. Hopefully doesn't happen again.“

“$25 for 2 entres with big portions AND an appetizer? Sold. I got the chicken parm. The chicken was good, but the pasta was very bland, more marinara would of improved it. But for the price i was happy as a clam. The portion was so big it made 3 total meals for me. Service was great despite the place beeing PACKED for veterans day.“

“I came into Denny's to look at the menu, I had a little more than ten dollars and wanted some eats! The hostess was quick to say hi and provide me menu. Every meal was out of my price range, about 12.99 or like 15.99 for the chicken fried steak. I knew I couldn't afford it so as I was leaving, my eye caught the al la carte sides and onion rings sounded goooood. The price was right, 4.99.
I sat up at the bar and the ladies in staff took care of me real nice. Their wifi was hella good too, faster than the mobile data fo sho. The nice, big, hot onion rings came and she served them with ranch dip too, didn't even have to ask...fire! They did provide extra sauce when it was requested.

I wanted my check pretty much right away so after 10 minutes of eating, I almost choked when I saw my 8 onion rings came out to 9.50. that was NOT the price on the menu. My heart kind of ssnk, because I'm not a cheapskate. And it's not the staff's fault that the price doesn't match the menu. So I had to give every dollar I had, but if I was going to spend $12 for a meal, I should have just got the double cheeseburger, you know what I'm saying? If I had of known that I was going to pay $950 instead of 499, I would not have eaten there.

I've since gone back in one of the Denny's staff patiently explained to me the pricing difference, that there are a couple of different entries for particular items although I can't remember the exact details. It might be good to ask a couple of extra questions just so you are not surprised“
