“I don’t make it a habit to buy fried chicken from a gas station, but I might start! It’s like KFC and Popeye’s, but less stuff on the outside, more chicken on the inside. Very lightly spicy. And now they have COLES LAW! Buy gas, buy beer, buy fried chicken to go. Thanks, Mike, for bringing me. After my second visit, this quite possibly is “America’s best-kept fast-food secret.”

“I have not had KFC in many years. I heard that they have a great crispy version of chicken. I was near a KFC and decided to try it. Surprisingly it was very tasty. It was a worthwhile cheat meal. Oh the mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious.

“They always get my order right. It’s always busy but they always make time for me and make me feel important. I ordered a 8 piece meal. I can’t wait to go back there again. I know it’s difficult with rude customers who try to take advantage of the people there but they stay professional and kind. They don’t get paid enough unfortunately but they’re definitely worth a million bucks, the employees are amazing. Can’t wait to come back!!!“

“I can't remember the last time I had fried chicken that was this good. They make it to order so it takes a little longer. But it comes out hot and crunchy. The chicken itself is juicy, they must brine it or something. I also think their story is pretty great.“

“Last of the old school breakfast nooks still around in the Bay Area. I make my pilgrimage from Richmond when I can. That the owner holds on for this long is a wondrous occurrence. Also, his place is a model of efficiency and economy, a living lesson for UC students majoring in economics.“

“First time here as I was just visiting in town. Food was fast to come out and staff was very friendly. I got a slider and tender combo both hot. Was kinda heavy on paprika but still oddly sweet. Not my favorite, but I think I'd like it a lot more if got a more mild flavor or even spicier depending on what seasonings they use. The chicken itself was very moist and well made. I'd definitely come by again if in the area.“
