The Familia | Mexican Food Reviews
Shout out to The Familia Mexican Food on Sunrise and Cirby. Just opened a couple weeks ago and had dinner there, it was great! Stopped in this morning for breakfast burrito, but I didn't want one of the standard options. I asked for Asada with eggs, whole pinto beans and potatoes with some of their extra spicy red salsa. They were happy to accommodate and IT WAS SO GOOD!!! Quickly becoming one of my new favorite spots!
Really, the best chimichanga I ever had! Fresh ingredients (it’s in the taste). My carne asada chimichanga was crunchy in the inside, yet deliciously covered in red sauce, with fresh lettuce and sour cream, yum!😋 My family ordered other dishes and all had the “wow” effect at the first bite. What a delightful overall experience we had at this new restaurant. The location is great, the place is clean and wonderfully decorated, the food is absolutely amazing, the portions...read full review

The Familia | Mexican Food, newly opened on Sunrise and Cirby, serves traditional Mexican food with an emphasis on San Luis Potosí region cuisine. The food has great flavor, and the portions are very generous. The staff is friendly, genuinely excited to have customers, and checked in multiple times to ensure everyone was enjoying their food. The restaurant is clean with a nice self-service chips and salsa bar offering 6 different salsa options, and food is brought out to the table after ordering at the counter.
Customers recommend the Quesabirria tacos with rice and beans, the 916 burrito, and the Enchiladas Potosínas, which are quite different from typical enchiladas but nevertheless delicious. The #4 casaberria tacos were also pretty good. The breakfast burrito with Asada with eggs, whole pinto beans, and potatoes with extra spicy red salsa was accommodated happily and was SO GOOD. The best fish tacos everrrrr and fresh delicious churros were also highlights. Prices are reasonable and about average for Mexican food. The vibe is simple and modern, and the staff makes you feel totally at home. Definitely worth stopping in.
