“Okay, they left samples out so I tried most of them. Quite a few things were on the dry side for me. If you're going to go with any breads, I'd say stick to the Asian fillings like taro or red bean: those were best. I was not impressed by the chocolate stuff. The one thing you definitely have to get from this place is the egg tart. It's so good, I came before and after dim sum to get more.“

“The wait staff was very friendly, got seated as soon as we walked in the door. Our server was attentive and made sure I had a refill when needed. There were a couple very needy tables in the restaurant at the time and I noticed the staff did an amazing job accommodating all of their needs. The food was good, I think everything we ate needed more seasoning. The chips and beans were sooo very bland. We shared the garlic shrimp tacos and the cedar planked salmon. The salmon was good but I think the portioning was very odd. They decided to slice the salmon on the bias with the skin on and cook up 3 mini pieces of salmon. Personally I'd prefer a whole portion of fish I think it is very easy to over cook the small pieces of salmon when using a beautiful fish like Ora king I like that nice medium cook which is almost impossible to do with such small pieces of salmon. The shrimp also came with a “sriracha cream sauce and a sweet Thai chili” this was clearly literally just sriracha out of a bottle and sweet Thai chili out of a bottle. I think homemade sauces would take this dish to the next level. The shrimp tacos were okay, the shrimp seemed poached which is odd I was expecting a little bit of coloring on them some sort of sear with garlic. Instead it seems like they were poached in unseasoned water. We ended with the s'mores baked Alaska. That was very good, it was verrrrry sweet. Lots of marshmallow piped around it which is what you expect with a baked Alaska, it came with burnt marshmallow ice cream and chocolate torte inside. I do think something to cut the sweetness would be great like maybe making the chocolate torte a dark chocolate one to offset the sweetness with a little bitterness. I would definitely go back to this restaurant. It's a friendly staff, nice local restaurant. Although I hope they are able to talk to the kitchen about seasoning and tasting their food before it is served.“

“We ordered a cake and cupcakes for my moms 90th birthday party. The cake and the cupcakes weren’t only beautiful, the were Delicious! Only thing bad was they disappeared quickly and I didn’t get to taste all the flavors! Thank you Patty!“

“Went for first time today. Extremely busy place. But considering the number of customers, they were pretty fast. I would definitely recommend them for their quality and efficiency. It’s noisy because of the hard surfaces construction but otherwise, all good.“

“I love that it's never super crowded when I go in, a helper/cashier always comes to greet me within a few seconds, the vibe is always nice and chill. I love the large varieties of cookies there and they're large! Every cookie and small pie has been absolutely delish! I just had a small key lime pie this past weekend that SO good!“

“HI, I have to be honest. I was trying to find a way to contact Flappy Jacks as I have a proposition I think would be perfect for Flappy Jacks I have what is probably a bit of an unusual idea. Or maybe just a good idea. I know it is an unusual way to contact you but there was no email address. So I hope this works. I am from Columbia Missouri and I am visiting my Son, Grand Kids, and family there, just a few blocks to the East of Tustin. I am a musician, part time, and I like to street busk (play music on the streets) for grins. I noticed your nostalgic decor and your Elvis statues and the mural featuring the St Louis Arch, which is in Missouri on the Mississippi, of course, where I am from, and the 1930s, 40s and 50s nostalgia, and I wondered if you ever considered, or entertained the notion of having a little nostalgic live music, every now and then, perhaps even if only just once as an experiment. I just happen to play that old classic blues from that era, mostly, at least in this capacity, as Mr. Fletcher's One Man Blues Band. And I thought we might make a pretty good match up. As I said, at least, as an experiment. You can check me out at Facebook "Keith Fletcher, musician." Though most of that music is from my original music shows, and not my one man blues sets. I noticed you had a nice patio area where I could play outside and it might be a nice treat for your customers to have a bit of entertainment, just for a change of pace. They might really appreciate it since they obviously like your atmosphere. I don't play loud music. Unless folks want that, but I prefer to play soft. Or at least in situations like this. I've been the house band for BBQ joints and restaurants on several occasions. So I am familiar with the proper decorum. Mostly I was just looking for a little music adventure in CA within a walking distance of my Son's house, where I could carry a very tiny amp about the size of a cracker box, and my guitar to a gig. I thought maybe about just doing a street gig but saw your venue and something seemed to click. I hope you think so too. I estimate you are about a mile walking distance from his house and I only need an electrical plug. And probably some cool beverages. Like I said, I'm mostly in it for a small musical adventure, and so will play for tips, though, maybe you can pay me with free cold beverages, especially if it is hot, and maybe a sandwich or meal depending on how long I am there. It all looks delicious to me. If you find you'd like to host me again, and want me back, that might be possible over the week, and I may be back for the Christmas holiday. I might even be able to talk my Son into bringing the kids and family. Could be a total bust, or could be a very nice thing, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. Who knows? If it worked out well enough for both of us, you might even want to do it again sometime, Maybe even offer some kind of fee next time, if there is a next time. Life is an adventure. You / we, might stumble onto something good. If you would like to give it a whirl, what day and time would you think is good to catch a crowd? “Above average, I can say for everything. Add in and out, the only thing that is changing. Is there size of the hamburgers? Are getting smaller and also their fries. The smaller servings they're holding out on the food, but higher prices make me want to go and eat someplace else.“

“The spicy beef noodle is highly recommended and it did not disappoint! The meat is really tender and juicy, the noodles are chewy, and the broth is fantastic! It’s also a big serving, so you must come with an empty stomach and a big appetite!

You can see the chef preparing the noodles and they are made fresh!

I also like the lamb skewers. The meat is tender and packed with flavor!

The staff are really friendly and accommodating as well. They’re very attentive and check on people if they need anything.“

“What an absolute gem! We go here around once a week and love it. Staff is always super friendly and the menu is excellent. The pastries are really good, and the lilikoi French toast is a decadent meal that can easily be split amongst two or three people.“

“There was an event earlier in the morning and I got a coupon for a free 2-pack cinnamon rolls so it was perfect that I was planning to go for dinner that same day! Cinnamon rolls were yummy and I love the fact that the icing comes separate since I’m not the biggest fan of sugary icing. I tried a different dish, Pasta primavera and added grilled chicken. This was good and would recommend it. Their side salad was yummy, had all the good toppings and at the end, my family ordered peach pie and sadly they ran out! This is a seasonal item so they were very disappointed. But it just goes to show you that it’s popular and to reserve it once you get seated because my family actually called ahead and asked if it was available and it was but after we ate, they sold out!“
