Food is just basic. I wish they have eggs not just meat for protein. Staff are friendly and nice.
In the 80's I ate here when it first opened. When they closed Mather Air Force Base, I relocated to the east coast. I brought my wife to California for her first visit. While we were in Rancho Cordova visiting Mather, I told her about Golden Bowls. She googled, and said it is still operated by the same family. It was! Johnny, whom I knew in the 80's cooked my food! If you're just looking to get your fill this hole in the wall Mongolian place is a great way to do that. The prices are reasonable and they will give you a refill for your soda. The one item I missed out on the last couple times was the soft serve machine. Dinner and lunch are priced different and its all you can eat for dinner, they offer to-go prices as well. Based on the reviews, Golden Bowls | Mongolian BBQ is a hole in the wall Mongolian place that feels super cozy, like being at home with a big warm bowl of noodles, meat, and veggies. It is a nice mom and pop shop with great customer service, where customers are always served with a smile. The prices are reasonable and affordable, offering unbeatable value for an all you can eat Mongolian BBQ style noodles. Dinner and lunch are priced different, and they offer to-go prices. There is a great variety of meats, veggies, and sauces to build your own bowl. If the noodles seem bland, there is a whole section of sauces, garlic, ginger, and chili oil to add. The chefs really appreciate tips, and one chef even engineered a kid version of chopsticks with strong paper and a rubber band. Don’t be fooled by the atmosphere, as it is popular. The location is in the back of the shopping center.
