“This spot is truly a hidden gem in the San Bruno neighborhood! The vibe is warm and welcoming, making it perfect for a casual dinner or a special night out. The sushi is fresh and flavorful, with a solid variety of traditional rolls and appetizers. If you’re into omakase, they offer that as well—an excellent option for those who want to sit back and enjoy the chef’s selections. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!“

“I have drove and walked pass here a few times. I was working nearby on a evening schedule, me and my coworker were browsing through DoorDash since we were in need of a quick bite and we decided to give this place a try. They offer many authentic Japanese dishes from traditional sushi rolls, specialty rolls, appetizers, ramen, sashimi, vegetarian items, bento box, party trays and much more to choose from. We were both excited when the order was placed, at that point we got even more hungrier and could not way to try the food we ordered. Finally the food arrived and it was time to dig in. The food was fantastic, delicious and has great quality where I believe they carefully select their ingredients. Everything here is made to order which is always a plus for me since it is quality over quantity and I never mind the wait since I am a very patient person. One day I will make a visit to dine in here. I highly recommend this place to all sushi/Japanese food lovers, if you need a quick bite just like me or if you just so happen to be in the area to check them out. I definitely will be back to tryout the other delicious options they have to offer.“
“Located near Luckys and Lowes, this is a neighborhood hole in the wall. It’s not an Ichi Ramen (shown in the front of the restaurant) as they just never spent the money to replace the sign. Being said this place gets packed fast especially on weekends. It’s a great spot for rice porridge and other Cantonese comfort food. Guess don’t judge the book by its cover 😉Tried the pork rice congee (hope I spelled that right) and the beef stew clay pot with both the regular and sweet Chinese doughnut. Enjoyed the tender pork and thick porridge. Beef stew was also very tender and savory 😋 I say check it out.“

“The best sushi place in SF…I am a sushi lover. The fish there are so fresh and the Uni are premium. From the sashimi to the Kobe beef, everything is top. Their pricing is also very reasonable. Eric and Phoebe are very nice and provide excellent service.“

“I heard the one in San Francisco Centre was closing, and remembered this one was still open. Since they opened there in 2014, they'd often have someone giving out samples of the signature chicken, but I never was there during a meal time to order. As Tanforan is shutting down for redevelopment, Finally I did patronize Sarku after years of procrastination. So it was great, I ordered the best selling chicken teriaki combo with rice and brocolli. The teriaki flavor was really subtle, in that it was not very strong, but enough to notice. The brocolli had kind of a janky safeway brocolli bag taste, but it was okay because the rice was tasty and overall the whole thing was good and fulfilling. I would give the food 4.5 stars. I had some leftover chicken bits and might put some sauce on it. According to Tanforan management, the whole food court is shutting down. More than half of the food court stalls (including upstairs) are empty. The employee said they were not moving to Serramonte like the yogurt shop. I noticed as I ate there were like 10 doordash orders picked up. Pretty impressive. The free sample program probably got them a lot of customers over the year. I hope to try Sarku again at their other locations and that they will consider opening a new location in San Francisco north peninsula. I wish the employees there well.“
