I remember when Einstein Bros. Bagels first became popular in San Diego. The concept felt fresh: a clean, well-run fast-casual chain offering dependable bagels, breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and quick service at reasonable prices.
Since COVID, however, the experience seems to have changed. Service has become less efficient and attentive, prices have increased considerably, and the cleanliness of the dining areas isn't as consistent as I remember it being in earlier years.
