“This place is the best! We’re from Colorado and we found this place three years ago when we were visiting. We’ve dreamt about their fish and shrimp tacos ever since, so we make it a point to stop by whenever we’re in San Diego. This last trip was no different. We even went twice this year because they recommended their garlic and butter fish and shrimp tacos and they’re to die for (along with everything else we’ve had). While they do have outdoor seating available, we ate in our car because we had our pup with us. When we went back, they even said they remembered us. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming, the place is clean and the food is tasteful. We just wish they would bring their truck to Denver so we could have them more often!“

“I’ve been here on five separate occasions now, and every visit has been consistently great. The customer service is always warm and welcoming the staff are friendly, patient, and genuinely kind, which makes the experience feel more personal than most places. I’ve never felt rushed, and each time I’ve gone in they’ve treated me with the same level of care and positivity. It’s the kind of place where you can tell they actually value their customers, which is a big reason why I keep coming back.
Over my visits I’ve tried the carne asada tacos, ceviche, fish tacos, and the California burrito, and every single item has been delicious. The flavors are fresh, the portions are generous. The fish tacos and ceviche in particular stood out for how authentic they tasted, while the California burrito was filling and packed with flavor. After five visits with consistently good food and service, it’s easy for me to say this place is highly recommended I’ll definitely keep coming back.“

The cabeza, adobada, and birria tacos were all cooked perfectly and the salsas were on point too. Lastly, the carne asada in their California burrito couldn’t have been better. “This place is amazing. Had the fish tacos and shrimp tacos both were deep fried and delicious. Hubby had the aguachile bontanas and it was so fresh and filling. Fresh made tortillas for the tacos and tostadas. Also had the clamato which quenched my thirst.
I was also completely endeared to the fact that it was an elderly gentleman cooking and seemed to have a speech impediment. The time it took to cook the food was well worth the wait“

“When I tell you the shrimp tacos were so good!!! The green salsa added a nice flavor as well but I loved them!! The fish tacos were also good!! I came to visit San Diego from the Bay Area and was in the mood for some shrimp/fish tacos this place did not disappoint! A bit pricey but worth it for me!“

“This place has been pulling up to my apartment almost weekly and I decided to give it a shot tonight. Admittedly I wasn’t expecting much, I was wrong. IT.WAS.AMAZING. I have lived in San Diego for my whole life and this was hands down the best quality quesabirra tacos I’ve had from a taco truck. Food was amazing price for the portion size. Definitely will be back to try more! Oh and the churros are really good too!

“Absolutely love the variety of combos. It allows you to have some of everything in one order. Food was hot and freshly served. Thumbs up on the Mac n cheese, candied yams with my order. They ran out of catfish at the days end today otherwise, It would have been my 2nd consecutive order. Also loved the signature taste of the chicken, and the fact that it was very hot and freshly served. I eat more at home than I do out, but many of their items are like home cooked so I will be back! They have the whole parking lot just drive in! I usually have two or three Fish tacos (w/o crema) and a pop then they usually know when I’m done because my to-go order is hot and ready!! My grandson is very picky but he looks forward to their Carne Asada Quesa taco’s. I’ve tried a lot off their menu and have never been disappointed, ever. They also GIVE you a “Consommé” which is actually a small portion of their seafood soup not just the fluid, I’ve had whole shrimp in mine many times and small pieces of fish. They’re not stingy with their variety of hot salsas/chili pods and garnishes (limes, cilantro, onions and pickled onions. Lots of ice cold canned and bottled drinks to choose from. This is my only food truck I trust 100% and love their quality of cooking. You’ll agree too once you try them out!“

“This is hands down the best taco spot in San Diego. You really cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. The service is quick and the owners are incredibly kind. My favorite is the chorizo con nopales taco, but everything I have tried has been just as good. The affordability makes it even better, with authentic tacos at a great price“

“This could possibly be the best California/ San Diego style burrito there is. Absolutely the best I’ve ever had. And I tried one of the Pescado tacos and it was the perfect crisp of the batter but not too much batter and not greasy and the fish inside was fresh tasting and flaky. Keep in mind that the moment you order, everyone is preparing it at the moment, so that takes time.

I recommend that you call in advance to order and also keep in mind that there are more orders and it is possible that they will still take a while.

Regarding the prices, they are normal. In fact I can tell you that it seems a little cheap to me, since the amount of the portion of each dish is quite large.

“Located in a corner spot in Mission Hills and it’s street parking only. You order at the window— no indoor seating but there were a couple of benches by the store. No wait on a Tuesday afternoon. It was nice to sit on the bench and enjoy the sun with some ice cream.

They offer cup ($7), cone ($9), or pint ($12). Tried out a few different flavors and I opted to get a split scoop of Lemon Meringue Pie and the Wise Ox (vanilla ice cream with strawberry balsamic and olive oil cake pieces). I thought those two flavors went well together!“

“First time having BBQ at Bowlegged BBQ. portion are large had the Ribs , Mac n Cheese, Coleslaw, Sweet Corn Bread. Ribs were so good, Coleslaw was refreshing but had a little kit of spice ? ?, Mac n Cheese was also good.
