Ma's House Chinese Halal Reviews
Horrible Customer service. They don't smile or make eye contact with you and reply back very rudely. They dont even come to refill the water, so you have to ask them. The restaurant is always hot. Food looks reheated. Check your chicken because ours was raw, they replaced it, but their shouldn't be any mistakes with chicken. If you give them less of a tip for their bad service they yell at you!

The server was the only one working but she got our order out fast and was so nice. The food was absolutely delicious.

Ma's House Chinese Halal offers a unique and authentic Chinese halal dining experience in San Diego. The restaurant is known for its flavorful dishes, generous portions, and friendly atmosphere. Many reviewers highlight the large portions that are perfect for sharing or enjoying as leftovers. Popular menu items include beef dishes, fresh noodles, beef stew noodle soup, beef rolls, green onion sesame bread, moo-shu chicken, and the thick sesame green onion bread, which is often praised as the best of its kind and worth trying even for those from Northern China. The sesame pancake and bread are especially recommended and can be enjoyed over multiple days.
While the food consistently impresses with its quality and richness, some reviews note issues with service and language barriers. Customers advise being specific when ordering to avoid misunderstandings, such as paying for green tea when not requested or dealing with spicy dishes when no pepper is desired. Despite occasional staffing challenges, staff efforts are appreciated, and the overall experience remains positive. The casual and welcoming environment, combined with the authentic halal Chinese cuisine, makes Ma's House a recommended spot for those seeking flavorful food with large portions in a friendly setting.
