“First timer today, needed a quick dinner after a workout and a bowl from here sounded like a good idea. Parking seemed like it would be an issue, luckily I nabbed a 15 minute spot right nearby. I liked the clean environment and the build your own bowl concept. I got a regular size bowl with brown and white rice, mostly tofu but a scoop of shrimp. After all the toppings I chose (edamame, seaweed salad - yum! Etc.), this turned out to be a substantial size dinner that I might have leftovers from). The base marinade and all the choices of toppings were very nice, and everything came together quite well and tasty. For just a little over $20 I felt this bowl was worth the time and money to get. Service was friendly and options were explained to me clearly as the bowl was being made. I plan on returning to this place!“

“Love the sushi here it’s the only place I get sushi from. Well worth the price, plate feels loaded. The flavor just melts away and brings me back to Hawaii (my happy place). The staff are always so polite and doesn’t take long to get your order. There is tables inside and outside, it’s really nice and the vibes are always great. “I really enjoy Poke places that provide a lot of options for different customers. I was really happy to see that they had mango, pineapple, and their spicy krab is fire! The poke was cut nicely, sometimes poke to too chunky, their poke was cut precisely and you get the right amount with every bite. Additionally, there were a lot of sauce choices. If I’m in the area, I’m definitely coming back!“

“Everyone in our house used to like poke. After we found Poke Chop, we LOVE poke! They have so many options of fish and sauces and toppings. I’ve never found as big of a selection. My daughter would eat here every day if I’d let her. There aren’t many places in Hillcrest where a family of 3 can get dinner for around $30, and be totally stuffed, and not feel blah afterwards. The fish is always really fresh. The only thing that could make it better is if they added mango, mmmmm. We try to eat there as much as possible because it will be a very sad day if they close. (It’s a reality in the Hillcrest restaurant business ☹️).“

“This was the best meal we had in San Diego. The staff was so helpful and kind. Helping us pick a combo and offering glasses of water. My 11 year old and I came here and shared a large bowl with extra protein and it was the perfect lunch, added POG and came to 25.“

“True Hawaiian Poké. No fluffy toppings, the actual stuff you will find on the Islands. Octopus Poké on Tuesdays. Menu changes from day to day depending on what the boats bring in...and, yes, the guys are actually from Hawai'i.“

“Good protein options. I went at a not too busy time of day so I also got to quietly sit and enjoy the meal. I only had the PYOP so I can only say that I enjoyed that, but I am sure everything else on the menu is good as well“

“Love coming to this local shop in Ocean Beach. My favorite is their Furikake Salmon along with some rice. Hits the spot every time!

There's no tables inside but my group always goes to Ocean Beach to take in the views and eat. A must try for the area.“

“I went for a late lunchon a Tuesday around 3pm to try this place out. I ordered the catfish and chips, the kids shrimp and chips, and a cup of chowder to go. The total was approx $25. The cashier said it would be about 15 minutes. I like how they didn't ask if you wanted to leave a tip, you just had to tap and pay.
The place was empty except for 1 group and a guy outside so I had choice of seats to sit and wait for my order. My order was ready in less than 15 minutes and the guy brought it to the table where I was sitting, thanks me for coming in, and said he hoped to see me again soon. The customer service here is excellent.
The kids shrimp fries consisted of 2 butterflied shrimp like you would get in the supermarket, but they were a little bit bigger and had no taste whatsoever. They didn't include any tarter sauce or ketchup, but did give you plenty of fries.
The catfish plate came with 2 nice sized pieces of catfish that were seasoned very well, on a bed of plenty of grench fries, and a generous portion of their slaw. They included tarter sauce and cocktail sauce, but no ketchup, napkins, or silverware to eat the slaw with.
Lastly, let's talk about the clam chowder. Oh my God, I haven't had such good chowder in so long. I wish I would have ordered the bowl instead of the cup, I definitely will come back here get the chowder and the catfish plate because they were both outstanding. Plus you can't beat the great customer service.“

“I'd work here if they paid me in poke bowls. So good. Other places the fish is questionable but this place always has a great taste and seems fresh! Oh and since you got rid of your yummy fountain and now just have standard Pepsi $2+ is a little much for a little cup of a Pepsi product .... I miss the old options that were worth the money �“

I normally like the Thai tea with boba, but this location put too much ice into the drinks, which water the flavor down so much.

They charge $1 for literally the smallest piece I've ever seen and when I called to voice my concern about feeling ripped off, they didn't care. I feel like if you're paying $20 for a bowl of ramen you should get what you pay for“

“Portion is HUGE even for the regular (I did do mix greens and brown rice so the big container was used), and they actually gave 2 scoops for each “one scoop” - I’m not sure if was my lucky day or is that standard. Flavor was good even when I only asked for 1 sauce. Spacious dining room. Would come back.“

“They turned creamy chicken ramen into just chicken ramen. I’m heartbroken. It was still great but not as satisfying. Their egg and takoyaki is the best ever, it’s been 7 years since I’ve had it for the first time and still, no other ramen place can top it. My parents are also great fans of the carnitas ramen and my mother even said she thinks it’s better than normal pozole. I’m still sad about the CREAMY chicken tho 😔“

“Let me tell you why we loved this pokes:

1. They have more than 10 options of proteins and you can choose how many scoops you want. My favorite one is tuna.
2. They have 7 different sauces. I chose Fire Loki and it was on point.
3. They mix the protein with the sauce at the moment they are making the poke.
4. They have 17 toppings. I had all of them in my poke!
5. The food is really fresh.
6. And the guy was really patient with us considering I’m a very indecisive girl…

“Not quite like they make it in Japan, but not bad! It’s definitely over priced, but most things are these days. The noodles were a good size & texture and the right portion for me, but some ramen lovers might be left wanting more noods. The spicy miso broth was good and not too greasy and the meat had a delicious charred taste. The soft boiled marinated eggs were also surprisingly good. We also got the garlic edamame and some sushi.“
