I was at Balboa Park and wasn't in the mood for food there. I stopped by at Rays craving carne asada nachos over hamburgers and Chinese food. Greeted with patience and friendliness by Robert as I looked over the menu. We chatted a bit and as it was my first time here he gave me a 1st timer special with a drink. Ray’s Mexican Food is an absolute gem! 🌮 The owner is incredibly polite, kind, and welcoming. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and takes pride in providing great service.

i LOVE ray’s! nicest people ever, and the carne asada is better than all the other places in the area. incredible california burrito. i also love that the breakfast burritos have beans (rice too, though i prefer mine without). both their red and green house salsas are flavorful and appropriately hot. please go enjoy this delightful food!
