Chill atmosphere, good beer, and very appreciative of 20% military discount. Didn't try the food but looked good. Highly recommend
Great spot off the beaten path to enjoy some truly incredible brews. Mondo and his team were excellent in helping me select just the right profile I was looking for. As a brewer, I really appreciate the attention to detail and the laid back atmosphere that lets the beer shine thru as the main highlight. Great ramen from a nearby spot just took the entire experience to another level. I can’t recommend it enough!!

The Church by The Lost Abbey is a unique beer hall located in a renovated Mexican Presbyterian Church in East Village, not far from the Padres stadium. The atmosphere is warm and unconventional, with stain-glass windows, church pews for seating, and a beer bar in place of a podium. A large communal table sits in the middle, with booths on the sides. While not a full-service restaurant, they serve brunch on weekends with breakfast sandwiches, burritos, and specialty beers on draft. The beer selection is extensive, featuring creative names and flavors like Shoreveza Mexican Lager and Every Everything West Coast IPA, served cold in tasting sizes. Guests can also order from Doggos next door using a tablet inside the bar. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, providing excellent service. In addition to beer, they offer canned wine and food options like hot dogs, burgers, veggie burgers, Sonoran dog, and elote cup. The Church is dog-friendly, making it a great spot to grab a drink and a bite before a game or event at Petco Park. The vibe is unique and relaxed, with some reviews mentioning the well-preserved church interior and outdoor booths that add to the special atmosphere, especially when enjoying a beer while cheering on the Padres.
