“Great bagels, friendly, line moves quickly. They're not kidding when they say they sell out within a couple hours of opening. I arrived around an hour after opening and the everything bagels were sold out. I will absolutely return, and I have to wake up earlier next time!“
“My favorite neighborhood bagel & breakfast stop. I always get their lox bagel sandwich and love that there are so many bagel flavors to choose from. The employees are so nice too. We love to stop here on our weekend morning walks, grab a bagel sandwich to go to eat at the tables across the street at Noe Valley Town Square.“

“If you’re inclined to eat supermarket bagels then I say FUHGEDABOUDIT.. Wise Sons bagels are the tops for fresh, crisp outer layer and soft chewy & airy middle ( not at all gummy like most others) especially Poppyseed! My regular☕️ & chat buddy really loves Everything BAGEL toasted with butter, Did I mention Poppyseed Naked ? Not me.. The Bagel! Otherwise for a more true NY bagel you’d have to go to H&H in Penn Station NYC.“

“Absolutely delicious!! I took a bite before taking a picture. The bread tasted so so fresh, cream cheese was locally sourced from a James Dairy Farm, and there were so many veggies in the smear. You can tell a difference from Holey Bagel that this place has fresher ingredients.“

“Food was okay. I had the lemon lox bagel and added sprouts. Also got an Arnold Palmer that came in one of those rectangle plastic bottles. It’s only an order at the window kind of deal but I like that they text you when your order is ready if you order from yelp.“

“For me - 'out-of-...continent'er - this was the absolute bagel perfection!
Flying home today, didn't want to leave the US without having had a bagel.
So, God placed this shop 1' away and sent a coworker to show me the right path.
And there they all were - salty, sweet, with all possible add-ons - just waiting to please and make my day (yours, too, btw!). Which mine did.
Great staff, friendly, fast! THANKS!
Pls, expand, extra-continentally!“

“Good for a quick bite. I like the local feel of the place but it can get very crowded, especially on the weekends so I'm glad for the outdoor tables. I like to stop by when I'm going to hang out near Ocean Beach. The food is tasty!“

“A story of three friends including one focused on how Food ties into social interaction and cultural understanding Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessen began in 2010, their expansion from The Mission flagship all the way down to Culver City thanks to “California-inspired Jewish deli food with roots in tradition and an eye on the future; for Jews who like food and food lovers who like Jews.” Founded by Evan Bloom, Ari Bloom and Leo Beckerman, each bringing unique skills to an operation focused on making nearly everything in-house, it was minutes after 9:00am on Christmas Day that the Deli on 24th Street was found quiet, the lack of queue seeing everything served within ten minutes at prices far below the Bay Area average. Using good ingredients, natural Beef Pastrami with complex spicing layered between real Jewish Rye just $15.50 with a Kosher Pickle, guests are also encouraged to order Matzo Ball Soup with a big Dumpling floating in Broth laced with Dill. No Babka on this morning, all of it committed to pre-orders, 72% Bittersweet Guittard Chocolate instead finds itself suspended in Cookies with flakes of Salt while Rugelach for $2 a bite is fairly basic considering the rest. Not forgetting a Bagel, well made with a good skin and plenty of chew, Cream Cheese comes complimentary just as good Butter, real Maple Syrup and Jam do with Challah French Toast cooked golden but still custardy in the middle.“

“I was ready to walk down the block to another, trendier shop, but boy am I glad I stopped into Star Bagel! The owner was SO nice and the bacon, egg, and cheese was the best I've had since living in NYC. And the prices are likely the best you'll find in the Bay Area.
Don't let the modest aesthetic turn you away. What a gem!“

“We stop Here every time we go through San Francisco. Their coffee is marvelous and the pastries we have tried are delicious. The atmosphere is definitely San Francisco neighborhood welcoming and the mural Inside reminds me of an Italian village. Don’t miss this stop.“
“Temo's Cafe - the place, the people, where you find good coffee, a smile, understandig and, if needed, helping hand. Lamea is an angel...was our angel... long time ago. We never will forget you, Lamea, and your open heart... And your nice, lovely family ... A kiss and a hug from Petra and Anna“

“This being one of the few breakfast options on Castro I decided to try it. I ordered the Lox sandwich because I’ve been craving a lox bagel. I got it with the jalapeño bagel and I liked the bagel part but with so many cucumbers and tomatoes in between it was messy and fell apart easily, I would’ve preferred less veggies and a little more salmon. For $14s I was disappointed. If I ever go back I’ll just get a bagel with spread.“

“Debuted at the end of the pandemic in response to an ethnic slur Dago Bagel from Tony Gemignani is one of three concepts inhabiting 728 Vallejo Street, and from Thursday through Sunday beginning at 08:00am guests are welcome to enjoy everything from true New York Style Bagels to housemade loaves and traditional Italian Pastries made with skill and love.
A change of pace for the lauded Pizza maker, a man whose name is nearly-synonymous with North Beach, it is inside the shop that acts as both Bakery and storefront that guests will meet well trained staff and pleasant servers more than willing to discuss products and production at length.
Beginning with Bagels, developed in conjunction with Adam Sachs, Dago’s collection spans from Pride to Everything and from stretchy skin to a dense interior with good chew the “best” is a matter of personal opinion whether toasted with Cream Cheese or plain.
Liberally using Malt and a Cuppone Panettone deck oven imported from Italy, plus stone-ground Flour made on-site, visitors attention is next drawn to Toscano Brothers including “Gold Standard” Baguettes and Organic Sourdough Ace Pagnotta incorporating Spelt, Rosemary and Olives into a 40 year old Sourdough starter.
Trending sweet from here, a Sour Cherry and Chocolate Batard souring local produce and TCHO Chocolate, Tony’s “Piattina” cuts a wide swath of textures and flavors before Antonio’s Italians Pastries rounds things out with classic Rainbow Cookies and world-class Lemon Ricotta Cake plus silky Budino hidden alongside Prosciutto and Mortadella in the cold case.“

“After eating their specialty miso salmon bagel, I understood the magic Remi felt when trying cheese with strawberries in Ratatouille - bright yellow and red flavor swirls dancing in his head. It’s magical - and transforms when you add the glaze. Pricing is a bit steep for what you get, but it’s on the right side of that line. Jersey girl certified solid bagel 🥯
Service was quick and curt; atmosphere is grab-and-go oriented.“

“Delicious, friendly, and all for a great price (for SF)!
Came by right at opening and they were ready to go. Had a delicious Vietnamese iced coffee and breakfast croissant. This is the best coffee spot in the area (arguably the city). I’ll try to make an effort to go back if I can (I’m rarely in this area), but if you are I highly recommend it!
Very cute, very tasty, very affordable (again, for SF)
• No wifi
• Street parking only
• No bathroom“

“I had the pleasure of getting a hot soy Matcha and cookies here this morning. The drink was PERFECTION and the ginger cookies were fantastic. They are super friendly and the staff acts like a warm loving family. No shouting just kindness from staff to staff. The genuine customer care was out of this world. It’s like going to grandmas house for coffee and more. Updated from previous review on 2025-08-30“

“Skip the usual chains please; this mom & pop place serves excellent medium roast Peruvian coffee and their lattes are superior to all the franchise shops.
They have all the standard non dairy options plus very fresh and delicious pastries; this goes for both their regular and vegan selections (their vegan oatmeal cookie is perfect).
Love this place; A++“

“L’s is a wonderful place if you have a gluten allergy / celiac disease!! They are extremely caring and careful (make sure to tell them you have an allergy) and they went above and beyond to ensure my gluten free bagel was prepared safely (changed their gloves, used all clean surfaces etc.). They are clearly very knowledgable and prepared to meet dietary needs. And the gluten free bagel tasted delicious!!! Which is so rare. Can’t recommend enough. I’ll definitely be back!!“

“Needed to pick up a quick dessert after enjoying the most amazing pizza a few doors down at Outta Sight. Gateway drew us in with their stacks of pink donut boxes--an immediate sign that this is a legit donut place. Our go-tos: blueberry and crunch which were immediately recognizable in the glass case. The lady behind register was very friendly and before we could assume it was cash only, she brought the POS out for us to tap and go. Gotta love it when a humble mom & pop keeps up w/tech. One excited bite out of each donut and we knew that Gateway would be our fav shop in the city. These donuts are AMAZING. They're fresh but more interestingly, they're sweet without being sickening (think opposite spectrum of a Krispy Kreme). I'm sure there's some kind of sorcery involved behind the recipe, but whatever they're doing is incredible. Even the small detail like the blueberry colored dough inside the donut is testament to their special touch. By the way, 2 donuts only cost us $3.75! What a deal.“

“Such a nice friendly neighborhood spot! Got the Cuban Cortadito and it was just perfect. I don't often find Cortaditos in SF but in Chicago I have them all the time so I was a little worried it wouldn't be what I had and mind, however it hit the spot. It might be my favorite I've had so far ever.“

“So good! This spot is very unassuming, but if you want a damn good bagel sandwich this is the spot.
It is small, so if it’s busy be ready to get your food to go.
I loved to see lots of locals in here as well as visitors that walked up from Ghirardelli square. Easy to get to by walking or bus.“

“The bagels are just delicious! Service is also very good, and the place is just okay (could have some improvements) but the food is so good the other aspects aren’t as relevant. If you want an aesthetic place this might not be it, but if you want great bagels in sfo definitely give it a try!“

“the local Starbucks had some sort of a plumbing issue and was closed in the middle of the day, so i went to this place to get a cup of joe. And you know what? The coffee they brew is BETTER than Starbucks. I kept going back. It's reasonably priced and the pastries are not bad either--i think i got change from $5 and got a medium coffee and an apple turnover. And the service is great too, so give this place a try!“

“A nice restaurant in SF that you can’t tell from the outside. It happens to be near our hotel and the price was great. Croissant was $3 and it was quite good. They have a lot Asian dishes and also some American food too. Asian dishes are best in my opinion although not very authentic and some are quite oily, but delicious and affordable compared to nearby options.“

“Great items, nothing crazy fancy. Simple and basic. Usually doesn't take too long for your order to be ready but sometimes it does for whatever reason. Right by the bus stop so you can pick some up right before or after your commute. There's also a cafe inside the adjacent building on the first floor with the exact same stuff. One my favorite pairs is the Special #6 Bagel on a blueberry bagel and a chai latte.“

“Take in from a native NYer, these bagels are so yummy. Get your favorite varieties. Don’t let the line fool you, service is so fast. The cream cheese is amazing and fresh. You can easily pull apart and dip for a smear. Did I mention, these bagels freeze well, so get the Baker’s Dozen. Lucky 13!“
