“10/10 atmosphere; this place is a little oasis of the true SF and the Mission spirit. Has a pool table and grunge aesthetic, but still plenty of space to mingle and meet new and old friends. Lighting is not as dim as other places, making it more inviting and welcoming + shows off the cleanliness of the kitchen (solid burger!)

“Wow... we simply don't know how we have never had a meal here before. It was pre-COVID the last time we were here for a show, but we never had a meal. After our visit late this afternoon, we will be back often! The drinks are great, for sure. And the rustic dining area is an absolutely delightful plus! And the food, well, sure, it's simple pub food, but it is the tastiest pub food we've had in a very long time. Be sure to stop by here for a nosh and a kolsch, or any other beverage. “Richmond Republican Drought House is an absolute gem! The House burger was phenomenal with juicy, perfectly seasoned, and stacked with fresh toppings that hit all the right spots. Cool staff made us feel right at home, and the vibes are laid-back and fun. Highly recommend!“

“The staff was so nice to let us come in and rest with all our luggage in between our cruise and flight. The food was really delicious.
Side note due to the older building there is no accessible restroom, however we were able to use the one next door.“

“Joe is great. After our Uber drive dropped us in the wrong place, Joe would tell us how to get there, he took us there. It was only at the end of the block, but meant the world to us. He wouldn’t accept a tip, so went back to have a beer after dinner. He remembered our name. He is the true meaning of customer service and I’ve told all of my friends to go see him at the Showdown. “Big ups to Dave, went in with a 4mo old on Sunday trying to get a drink for the patio. He served me quick and was super nice, i couldn’t carry my beer and shot outside with the stroller so i left the shot on the bar while i walked outside. “I was initially put off because the service was a bit slow(one bartender), and I was trying to get food for a show at the Bill Graham. But hot damn did they work it. I got the two patty smash burger and fries. YUM. They were out of beer we asked for but we still got good drinks. Then a shot in apology of our wait? That’s it you’ve won me over.“

“I come here once a week with friends. It is fun, clean and well managed. The staff are volunteers who are cheerful and very accommodating. It's very well sanitized and Covid safe. The food and drinks are delicious. I've been to restaurants for outdoor dining but none have come close to the positive experience I have here and in the best neighborhood in San Francisco.“

“It usually doesn't feel great to be wrong, but this time it did. The menu at Chesty's offers mostly standard American fare options, but there was nothing standard about the execution. Everything was cooked to perfection, reminding everyone at our table that simple things cooked well are often more rewarding than dishes at the latest and greatest spot. (Of particular note: the Grilled Salmon with Meyer Lemon beurre blanc and the Prime Rib).
Add in the views of the SF skyline, the piano player crooning all our favorites, the fascinating exhibits of USMC history (Chesty's is on the 12th floor of the Marines' Memorial Club) and we had a wonderful dinner and evening. Oh yeah, and we lucked into a parking spot out front.“

“Nice sports bar. I frequently stop in on game days for a beer and a bite to eat. The bar definitely fills up about 1.5 hours before the game. Friendly service, although there's usually a short wait. Great selection of beer and spirits. Food selections are pricey, and serving portions are ample but tasty. It would be nice if they offered game days or happy hour specials.“

““The Pied Piper at The Palace Hotel — a living piece of San Francisco's soul.” My partner and I had a reservation at The Pied Piper as part of our 5th-anniversary stay at the historic Palace Hotel. We've always admired the legend — its art, its reputation, and the sheer history that lives within its walls. Finally, we got to experience it. From the moment we stepped in, the staff were kind and welcoming, and the surroundings simply stunning — warm lighting, rich wood, and of course, the iconic Pied Piper mural that holds its timeless charm. Seeing it in person felt like stepping into a painting. Truly a masterpiece that belongs nowhere else but the Palace Hotel. We only had two drinks that night — Lady in Red for me, and Ralston for my partner. Both were crafted beautifully, though the alcohol was a bit stronger than expected (we're light drinkers!). Still, each sip carried elegance and creativity. If I may humbly suggest — the music could better match the setting. That night, the playlist jumped from modern pop to 1950s tunes and back again, which slightly broke the mood. A steady flow of jazz, swing, or timeless classics would make the whole ambiance more harmonious with the bar's history. Music, after all, shapes memories as much as taste does. Also, a few more light bites or finger food options — like calamari, onion rings, or flatbread — would make the experience even more inviting, especially for guests like us who drop by mainly for drinks. Still, The Pied Piper remains a gem — an experience layered with history, art, and the elegance of old-world San Francisco. We'll absolutely give it another visit soon. “The decor and ambience is very modern while still maintaining the original design and foundation. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Place gets busy even during baseball games. Went here before the giants game and was quite impressed. I’d love to come back next time I’m in town. The food and drinks were impressive and left me wanting more. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. You definitely won’t be disappointed if you decide to stop by.“

“Arriving at 6 a.m. after a 14-hour flight from Manila, and – frankly – just tired of the airport’s lounge offerings, I had skipped breakfast on my flight and was looking to catch up before boarding a flight to DC two hours later. Had not been to Mission Bar & Grill before, but the breakfast menu was spot on. \n\nI ordered a pork sausage breakfast wrap ($22), that came with perfectly prepared home fries (potatoes quartered, crisply browned); that plus a double Bombay Sapphire ($48). The food was freshly prepared, came out in less than 15 minutes, and was for once reasonably sized – not so overly packed that I was going to leave anything on the plate. Sometimes, a decent grill beats the food and drink offerings we’re finding airline and credit card lounges; that was the case here.“
