Very nice ambience and food is good but the prices are crazy. When you order something it comes out within like 2 minutes and then the portions are quite small. We weren’t able to blow a few hundred dollars on a 30 minute meal for 2 people so we only ordered around 6 hand rolls and a drink and were out in like 20 minutes. Pricey but I appreciate the at tips are included in the menu pricing. Oddly, I prefer the saru sushi bar handrolls over the handrolls here. They are 1.25x the size of the handrolls here and cheaper too. Like the negitoro handroll at saru sushi is $12 but $15 here.

They do know how to select their fish, but if you have any gluten sensitivity or have celiac, good luck finding something to eat. It amazes me why restaurants have to dip their fishes in soy sauce making it completely unsafe for people with some food restrictions. The last time I ate there they only had 2 items on the menu that were gluten free. I don’t think I’m ever coming back because of such limited options.

Saru Handroll Bar offers a cool, low-key vibe with a great selection of handrolls served hot and fresh. The atmosphere is lovely and great, with a beautiful focused menu of stellar items and no fuss seating. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, providing fantastic service. The miso soup and hand rolls are excellent, with ingredients that are absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced in both texture and flavor. It’s a great spot for a date or dining solo, with an excellent sake and wine selection. The classiest move of all is no tipping, as they pay workers a great full wage and health insurance.
