I went in there looking for a healing tea because my daughter had suffered a miscarriage.. immediately he expressed his condolences and explained with such detail why the tea he was giving me was for her and I explained other situations and all I can say is, I bought everything he recommended. It was my first time there and we have been drinking it properly and it has made all the difference in the world for our health & has brought us together. Tea is an experience for sure & drinking it correctly makes it even better! Thank you & continued blessings“

“The Japanese Tea Garden is a peaceful and beautifully maintained escape in the heart of San Francisco. “This is still my FAVORITE Japanese tea shop. They have the best quality loose teas, beautiful handmade tea cups & sets, tea accessories, so many cute cat items, and it’s the perfect place to buy gifts. Staff is super friendly and helpful.“

“Came in on a Sunday afternoon and drinks were made very quickly! Cash orders are 10% off at the register, and the only drink toppings are crystal boba and aloe vera. Whole milk is the default option, +$0.50 for oat milk. This shop focuses on their variety of brewed teas, which I admire. Lots of cute figurines and flower decor with some seating.

“We always reserve a table for lunch when we're in San Francisco. It never disappoints. Our server, Dhan (forgive me if I didn't get that right!!), was remarkable. Kind and funny, and very attentive to the food sensitivities in our group. We often start with a glass of champagne but this visit we changed it up with mocktails. The salads were delicious and the buttery lettuces were beautiful on the plate. My family went for Rotunda's famous warm chocolate chip cookies for dessert, but I ordered the strawberry sorbet, it tasted like fresh picked berries and was a blast of summer tho it was cool in the city. Plan ahead, they really can get booked up.“

“Great tea tasting experience with Yen today. I think she would have let us taste the whole store today, if we had more time we would have. Front of shop is the modern bubble tea kind of place. Back of shop is retail bag & loose leaf teas with the tasting bar. We really like the TenRen teas, especially the Taiwanese Alishan and Ti Kuan Yin. Looking forward to going back and trying more.“

“Very close to Union Square. Very small spot indoors so it's mainly an order and go boba spot.

I wanted a drink with boba already included so I ordered the black sugar latte ($5.95 before tax). The drink comes cold and I picked less ice, medium sweet, and in a paper cup (they offer this as the sustainable option). The straw is also compostable commercially so yay! My drink was sweeter than I anticipated, given I ordered medium sweet (which is the less sweet option), but still delicious.

There's minimal interaction with the employees. You order at the self serve kiosk (unless you want to pay in cash. I didn't see a discount mentioned for paying cash) and then they bring out the drinks and call out the name of the order. Also didn't realize that SF has a healthy mandate of 6%, which looks to be separate than the SF city employer mandate of 5%, so my order was applicable for the 6% mandate, but not the 5% mandate.“

“I wanted to say something really important about this restaurant— the staff, food, drinks and decor a truly wonderful! So this review is nothing to do with the establishment that’s why I’m giving 5 stars because it is definitely worth five stars. I just think it’s important to recognize that this restaurant is in an incredibly dangerous area . I took my sisters and mom here for after a fun wedding appointment ; my complete fault for not doing my research of where it was located in the city - it is smack dab in the middle of the tenderloin and in a very bad and rough area - I was shocked at the location and we were running to get back to our car as the homeless people in the area were very aggressive and using , people being chased , and fires in random spots on the sidewalk.Again , this is just really important to note that be prepared for the area , don’t park your car nearby and come with a group .“
