“This place had all the vibes of the perfect donut shop, from the delicious donuts to the lovely atmosphere. Stopped by on break to grab an apple fritter, which was excellent, and the jelly filled options are also excellent. The shop owners were kind and inviting, and I highly recommend everyone stop by to try out their selection. (note: they are cash only, but there is an ATM on site)

Parking: Parking in San Francisco is either super easy or impossible, depending on how lucky you are.

“This particular branch is located inside Mitsuwa; to the left when you walk in...past Hokkaido Ramen Santouka. They do a great job with the Mochi Donuts here. The Mochi Cupcakes are also very good. While this isn't a standalone venue, the menu here seems to be expanding frequently. In addition to their standard Mochi Donuts they keep adding new items. Not that I'm complaining...just an observation. Actually I'm ecstatic! I haven't seen some of these creative new items before. #Sugar ~ Matcha Mochisada - 5/5 These were amazing. Not too sweet or bitter, perfectly balanced Matcha cream on the inside. ~ Mochi Cupcake Black Sesame - 4/5 Excellent flavor. Not too sweet or bitter and the texture is spot on; delightfully chewy without being too dry. I prefer the Cupcakes over the donuts, better texture for me. ~ Matcha BRIOCHE - 4/5 Another brilliant creation. Mochi Brioche with Matcha cream filling. Delish! “Happy Donut has been a staple place for donuts in San Jose for a long time. My family and I have been going here for years, but it's been a while since I last visited and I was happy to find that the donuts are still delicious (and super fresh) as they always have been. They were also kind enough to throw in some extra donut holes. And you know it's a legit donut shop when it comes in a pink box! I've never had any issues with parking and am usually in and out cause that's just how fast they are.“

“Hands down, some of the best donuts I've ever had. Extra crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful inside — and the fillings actually taste like what they're supposed to. Nothing overly sweet of artificial. You can tell they care about quality here.

Coffee's fine — just your standard cup. Totally drinkable, but with donuts this good, I kind of wish the coffee stood out more. Still, it's a solid stop for a quick breakfast or mid-morning pick-me-up.

“This is a classic donut shop run by a truly wonderful staff. They also make great breakfast hot sandwiches, bagels, cronuts, and have some more special donuts that I don't normally see. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, always happy to chat but most the time they have a lot of customers so I don't want to take up their time too much. “I like my apple fritters to be darker than bourbon, as large as your head and make you regret your life choices by the time you’re halfway through. The ones at this place was none of those things. They were however decadently fatty, very sweet, exceedingly crispy, and the apple bits didn’t overpower the dough, sugar and fat, merely complimenting it. “I absolutely love this spot! I don’t live too close to the location but on my days off I always find myself here, I would much rather go here than a Noah’s bagel or some franchise breakfast spot. The food is great and always consistent they’re also NEVER stingy! The couple who runs the donut shop are friendly, they remember my boyfriend and I and always give us extra food (bonus points)!

For those of you reading, I do want to touch on the reviews that are lower rated. Those reviews are undeserved and irrelevant. I never experienced hatred or rudeness from the owners! Sugar is my favorite accompanied by the chocolate glazed old fashioned. The make breakfast sando’s, serve hot coffee and have a fridge filled with breakfast beverages (7-11 in the same shopping center). Private parking off of Camden Ave and Doordash is available.“

“One of the last REAL donut spots left on the South Side. I made the mistake of going to Dunkin Donuts because it was on my way home this morning. It was expensive: two tiny and doughy donuts and two latte's were $18; believe me, I regret it now. I promise I will never make that mistake again. SAM's is the ONLY place to go for REAL donuts and it won't cost an arm and a leg. They know what an old-fashioned donut actually is. If you haven't given them a try check them out.“

Then proceeded to say that they honor walk in orders over prepaid orders...wtf?! This was going to be a surprise for my child in the morning. WAY TO GO KRISPY KREME! “Mochicream has a stand in Plano, TX at one point and decided to close shop. It was a very sad day to see it go. They had the best mochi ever! Their mochi is flown over from Japan and arrives frozen. Once you thaw it, you get this very soft, delicate texture that's rich and creamy. The most popular one is double mango. It's sold out on the weekends so it's best to order a lot if you are a fan of mango. Other flavor that are a hit, cafe au lait, black sesame, blueberry and azuki. Don't let the price deter you from trying the most amazing mochi.“
