Supporting our neighborhood restaurant. Actually tasted pretty good. Need to have more sushi’s rolls. Place is pretty nice. Parking is good. I’ll come back try more.
Not much to look at from the outside but lovely indoor decor and a pretty extensive menu with alcohol selections available. Trying this one for the first time, according to staff they have been here about 4 months. Today I have ordered the pork katsu bento box. Lunch special for $17.99. comes with gyoza, rice and a salad. Also includes your choice of drink. Staff let me know it would be a 10-minute wait for the food to be cooked up fresh. Actual wait time was only 7 minutes...read full review
Tried the sushi tacos and a couple of specialty rolls. The combination of textures was really fun, especially with the crispy shell and soft fish. The specialty rolls had interesting toppings that made them stand out from standard sushi. Definitely enjoyed trying something different.

Hiraki izakaya & handrolls is a new Japanese place in the neighborhood. The restaurant is not much to look at from the outside, but it has lovely indoor decor and a pretty extensive menu with alcohol selections available. According to staff, it has been open about 4 months. The place is rather new and deserves a shot. It is a chill spot that is clean and organized, with well presented food that is fresh and tasty. It works well for a casual lunch or dinner. The menu has a good selection of dishes and hand rolls, with very affordable prices and big portions. The hand rolls come with provided nori seaweed, eaten much like a taco of sorts, and the flavors are fresh and clean. The sushi tacos had a fun combination of textures, especially with the crispy shell and soft fish, and the specialty rolls had interesting toppings that made them stand out from standard sushi. The pork katsu bento box lunch special was $17.99 and comes with gyoza, rice and a salad, plus your choice of drink. The ribs and chicken katsu curry were delicious. Parking is good, though the restaurant needs to have more sushi rolls.
