About Sagar Sweets Restaurant

Sagar Sweets Restaurant offers an authentic Indian dining experience with delightful food and sweets. The owner is described as super nice and the sweetest, though one reviewer found the older gentleman a bit rude. The samosas and various sweets are praised as amazing, with the right amount of spice and flavor. Customers often call in advance for takeout, especially for samosas, which are freshly fried with raw papaya and tamarind-Date Chutney. The restaurant is known for its best sweets and samosas in the Bay Area, with a welcoming vibe that visitors love. The place has been open for over 45 years and is considered a historic spot. The food, including desi ghee jalebi and gajar halva, is described as luscious and worth every penny. The staff provides fantastic service, offering free snacks like sweets and mango lassi while customers dine, and continues to top off drinks throughout the meal. Wide doorways and a ramp make the restaurant wheelchair accessible.

I just traveled back in time. It feels like in. 1970s or 80s India. It feels more like home than actual home. Amazing authentic food and sweet better than any other bay area shop not kidding. I have been here for 3 year didn't felt like this.

We bought barfis (milk based sweets) for a function we were going to attend and they were very fresh, absolutely delicious and the owner seemed very passionate about oh this craft. Small businesses like this one need to be saved and encouraged. Hope all people in San Jose come here.

I love this place and the staff! The uncle baker has taught me about the treats and food so I've been going here for over 10 or close to 20 years! I love their north punjabi northern food and the sweets are very good! I dont know the names so I just point but never disappointed! Love the Barfi variety!
