“Probably the best vegetarian street food we had in the Bay Area! We appreciated the honesty of the lady at the counter in recommending the Vada Pav over the Dabeli and was she right! The Vada Pav was excellent! So very fresh and soft! All the flavors were just right. Pity we got to eat here only once.“
“I have tried all their mouth watering vegetarian dishes and all of them taste great! Two of my most favorite are jackfruit Donne biryani and mushroom Donne biryani and is a must try !! The baby corn kabab is a perfect combination for biryanis and cannot miss ordering them each time.I highly recommend this place ! Service is spot on !!Vegetarian options: Weekly vegetarian options are great and is a wonderful idea to serve such yummy dishes.“
“Our local favorite north Indian food. Usually doing takeouts. Excellent Butter Chicken, Masala Bhindi, Malay Kofta and our recent favorite, Shrimp curry (JHINGA LABABDAR). Rice is included but don't miss out on the fresh Naan or Roti! All great tasting, you can choose the level of spiciness and they are always great when ordering the takeout by phone. The food is always ready on time for pickup.“
“Super quick service. We did a pick up of vadas and they had it ready within 10 mins and we liked the food so happy to come back anytime. Can't wait to try idlis next time because that comes highly recommended. Ambiance was decent .. the sambar was good too and happy to come back again with friends and family“
“Overall this was a solid weeknight date spot. The dahi papri chaat is delish! Creamy, runny yogurt + super fresh chutneys + crisp papris. Other dishes to try include a paneer pesto puff and pav bhaji. Though you can get other really good pav bhaji in the Bay, this was also very good.“
“Lovely delicious food.Tgere is different varieties in Veg and Non vegetarian foods. You can't ever seen the topping options here.If your select Chicken Tikka bowl ,there is 10 out of seven fillings option .North Indian perfect taste good.even we can select spicy options also .paneer Tikka bowl and chicken curry bowl is very tasty and samosas cost wise affordable price.worth for it.“
“Pollo Campero is a fantastic option for takeout! Their chicken is the real star - you can choose between their famous crispy fried chicken or opt for the juicy grilled option. Both are bursting with flavor, and the portions are generous. I will come back “
“Having read all the raving reviews, my expectations from this place were very high. We got the Bonda soup and the pani puri. The panipuri tasted good, not exceptional, but alright. What was disappointing was the quantity of filling offered. It wasn’t enough for all the puris. Maybe if we had more filling to spare for each puri, the taste would have been elevated. We were trying bonda soup for the first time, so we don’t know what to compare it to. But we weren’t impressed. The Bonda ‘batter’ separated from the fried crust on putting it in the soup. So we were eating the ‘batter’ with soup and the crust with soup, separately. Not a great experience. This was the place I was most looking forward to on our trip to San Jose and sadly, I am disappointed by it.“
“You seriously can't make a wrong decision. Everything is delicious. I've ordered from here a few different times both through doordash and over the phone. It's definitely worth going in to pick up. They are super nice and it smells amazing as soon as you walk in. One of my all time favorite places to eat. Will definitely be back.“
“This little gem just opened up near my house and I could not be happier. I've had their food twice now and both times they did not disappoint. I really wish they offered masala dosa during lunch because that's usually when I like to eat it! You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. Also very surprised by their cauliflower appetizer! Chefs kiss!“
“It's a non-casual dining in terms of very well-thought food menu. They have a plenty of (unique in the South Bay) eggs specialities along with some tasty vegetarian options. The Owner/Chef and staff members are friendly and welcoming. Service is good and turnaround time is less. I would highly recommend this place!“
“I like their Ambur mutton biryani which is full of flavor and a bit spicy though not dominating other flavors. Appam is authentic and our kids love it with mild chicken curry. Service is very good , Chef is very friendly and he himself served some dishes.“
“I recently tried the chicken pan-fried momos from the food truck, and I must say, they exceeded my expectations. The aroma alone was enticing, and the first bite confirmed that they were exceptionally well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. The crispy exterior gave way to juicy, flavorful chicken filling, creating a delightful contrast in textures. The portion size was generous, and considering the taste and quality, the price was definitely worth it. Overall, it was a satisfying and memorable experience.“
“At first, I was gonna give this place a 1 star rating but ended up having a delightful overall experience. After picking up meds next door at Walgreens, I was hungry so decided to give it a try. “Indo-Asian” cuisine sounded interesting. I walked in and the place was empty even though it was close to noon. The lights were dimly lit and no one was around so I wasn’t sure if it was even open. I said “hello” to see if anyone from the back would hear me and some guy came out looking at me all confused too. I asked if they were open and if I could sit down but he didn’t understand what I was saying. I sat down anyway. A few minutes later, a scruffy man came out to take my order. He looked like he just woke up, talked really fast, and was a bit grimy looking. I started to regret my decision to eat there. After waiting maybe 25 mins for my food, I’d have to say that it was really flavorful and worth the wait. This pushed them up 2-3 more stars. As I was eating, I watched some teenager walk in to ask for a job. Turns out the grimy waiter was the owner of the place. After a brief conversation, the owner told the kid he could come in the next morning and gave him a job. Witnesses this act of kindness bumped it up another star. After the kid left, the owner came over to sit down and chat with me. We had a lovely conversation about Nepal, how he got into cooking, and he showed me pictures of his beautiful children. This bumped them up another star. This served as a reminder to not be so quick to judge. Kindness goes a long way! Nice little hidden gem on the Eastside, def worth trying!“
“Very quiet and small inside, we typically take to go anyways with pizza. Always great recipes and pizza. Order directly from their website, or you will pay up to 40$ over regular pricing just for 2 pizzas....was ready in 30 minutes. We Always order to have leftovers, other pizza places taste like cardboard the next day. This pizza is still just as good cold too! GO CURRY PIZZA HOUSE!Parking: Small lot, but not hard to get a spot.Kid-friendliness: Daughter wanted to stay and dine in! Small inside though.“
“Thank you Bread Bae chayakada for making the unique Kerala snacks available to the bay area. I recently catered from Bread Bae for my daughter’s birthday party and food was such a great hit. The owner was prompt to respond to any questions and with the quote. The food was delivered on time and they helped setup a grazing table. Will definitely consider them for future events.“
“We came here to try a new place and it was phenomenal! Easily a 5 star place based on the food alone. Value is great and portion sizes are great too! It's moderately spicy but nothing crazy. We ordered the paneer tikka masala, garlic naan, and chicken biriyani. We will definitely be back!“
“Walk in orders to go are swift and lovingly attentive. Plenty of indoor/outside tables for the amount of space they work with. Parking is limited, but iv never seen it crowded, so give them a try!Parking: Parking is limited, but I've never seen it crowded.Wheelchair accessibility: To get inside may be a squeeze, but it is accessible.“
“Food was pretty good. Ordered Paneer Tikka Masala, although not 100% authentic( which is the case with most places in the US to the extent I have tried), the taste was good. Gobhi paratha and naan was pretty good. Would definitely go back to this restaurant.“
“Newly remodeled place for a very good dinner. Lots of vegetarian options, and items like Gobi Manchurian were really good. Service was super quick, friendly and efficient. Only one feedback to the restaurant - salt was very unevenly spread on items like Kulcha. Can reduce the overall salt content in dishes a bit.“
“If there were ever a hidden gem in this wide ocean of Indian food in the Bay Area, Talab would be the one. For one, seeing a Bengali owned food joint that has eastern part of India well represented with Kolkata roles, luchi, Bengali biryani AND GUR SANDESH will transport you back to Park Street. Flavor, spices and such tenderness in something as simple as malai kebab will have you going back for more! I'd love to try out more from them including the Puchka stand right outside! To immerse yourself in another facet of the variety of Indian cuisine beyond the typical dishes, definitely check it out!!“
“The owner hospitality is very good. We were late, still the owner took the order for dine in and did not interrupt untill we were done. It was beyond the closing timing. Food is also Amazing. Inexpensive when compared to other restaurants. Quality and Quantity are more than beyond. One of the underrated restaurant with quality food. Will visit more often here. Must try. 5 Stars.“
“The location near Santana Row was very busy but the food was great and the service was very good! I had the fried rice. The plate was more than enough for one! Thank you, I hope this review helps.Parking: The parking lot was shared with the gas station so there's plenty of parking.“
“There's a charming Indian restaurant right here in our neighborhood that has become my absolute favorite spot for a hearty meal. Their butter chicken is simply divine - it's like a warm embrace on a plate. Every dish they serve feels like it's been made just for me, with flavors that hit all the right notes. But what really makes this place special is the friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff. It's not just a restaurant; it's a gathering place where you feel like part of the family. If you're craving some delicious Indian cuisine that feels like home, you won't be disappointed here“
