“GREAT garoto coffee...the espresso with foamy milk.. so smooth, not bitter nor too strong. The portuguese cheese and prosciutto sandwich was good but next time will not get it toasted as the cold cheese itself is wonderful! the Pasteis di nata are the best littleegg tarts as I found them to be a bit dry, but then again get another coffee! Owner was so friendly and the place adequate for being an older establishmen.“

“Greeted warmly as i entered and met a friendly smile at the register. It was my 1st time at this location, Almaden, and very surprised by the great variety of offerings. “I own the iCode next door to insomnibar so I come here often. But today the employees had exceptional service (review worthy!). I ordered a drink by mistake bc I had forgotten what I ordered last time. The employees there offered me 2 samples to drink from to see if any of them resembled the drink I got the previous times. I found my drink and she made it for me. Outstanding service! Love the neighbors!“

“Got the super burritto and the shrimp cocktail...very delicious! A hint of sweetness, nice toastiness on the tortilla. The salsa with the chips had a nice smokey flavor and spiciness to it--spicy enough for my husband to need something to drink! The food is properly seasoned and not overly spicy which is great for a soft-mouth like me :)

The place was packed on a sunday at lunch time, a great sign that the food is good. The lady who helped us was friendly and understanding.

Mostly indoor seating but we sat at the one outside table under the umbrella.

“Outstanding cafe at our building . Owners are caring , make excellent food, and great variety. fair pricing, especially for hand made fresh food. Enchilada day in my favorite. the 1 star review from reviewer B.S. is nonsense ( he gives 1 stars all the time, including 7-11 LOL) , this cafe is an amazing local resource.

Dietary restrictions: Owners are able to adjust for my diets.

Parking: Good ADA compliance, lots of parking in back ADA spots mostly not used.

Kid-friendliness: good informal location, plus atrium to run around in and restrooms nearby.

“Okay, I stumbled upon this place by accident and now I’m convinced it’s a hidden miracle. I usually find house blends pretty bitter, but their pour-over was unbelievably smooth—no bitter aftertaste at all. I also grabbed a slice of their homemade lemon poppyseed loaf and it was so incredibly moist. It’s a super laid-back, unpretentious spot with great background music. Seriously glad I walked in.“

“The avocado toast was very delicious ! the atmosphere was very nice and they had some calm music playing which made it better. And the staff was extremely friendly and considerate, they made a mistake on one of my orders and brought a complementary chocolate croissant! I was not expecting that at all but it was very generous of them on their part!! There is also a large variety of breads and pastries there, which looked very scrumptious as well. “No complaints here! An unassuming little shop tucked away in a busy plaza. The staff here are friendly and quick. You can hear them juicing the sugarcane as you order. Very fresh and good quality nuoc mia (sugarcane juice).I also tried the pate chaud, which were $1.15 each. These were tasty! Very crispy puff pastry with a good amount of meat. The flavor is quite peppery and savory. I recommend!! They also accept Apple Pay :)“

“I had strawberry croffle with mango avocado slush. Croffle is like a croissant cooked in a waffle maker. Its sweet and matches well with the whip cream and strawberry. It was so good that i finished every bit including the whip cream. Something to definitely try!“

“My wife and I were once just basic milk tea drinkers. We had our standard spot that we used to go to for years. We had friends that used to tell us about getting milk tea with “cheese” in it and we said “that sounds gross”. So one of our friends eventually dragged my wife to Happy Lemon and made her try the milk tea with salted cheese and….our taste buds will never be the same again.

I have now been to this Happy Lemon on multiple occasions. Parking has never been an issue. The people that take the drink orders, and serve the drinks have been consistently nice. The wait time for the drinks have been consistent with other tea places we have been.

My wife and I are now hooked on the Milk Tea with Salted Cheese and Boba Milk Tea with Cream Puff. I even bought some of the Salted Cheese ice cream for our daughters to try. They immediately tasted the cheese flavor and thought it was “yucky”. I was very happy to hear that and I sat back and enjoyed every spoonful.“

Their pandan waffles were thick and delicious (thank goodness for the buy three get one free deal), the boba was absolutely delicious, and the place gave a homey and calm atmosphere with wooden accents. 10/10, would go again :)“
