Very good food….and healthy.
Excellent food & service. Tamales were so fresh tasting.
It’s always cool to try another taco spot. Tried the pastor, asada and carnitas bowl. The asada was the best with the salsa verde. Pastor seems a little dry and old not too fresh but had good flavor. Carnitas had good balance in the bowl. Guacamole was not fresh and served in a to go container- where’s the pride in that. Taqueria Parranga is a restaurant on Santana Row known for its incredible and authentic Mexican food. The tacos are a highlight, with favorites including the pastor, carne asada, shrimp, and the exceptionally soft and flavorful lenguas. The quesabirria with lamb is also excellent. Every aspect of the food receives praise, from the high-quality, seasoned meats to the handmade tortillas. The meal is elevated by fantastic salsas and hot sauces, which offer amazing flavor and a variety of spice levels. Other notable items are the burrito, the beans, the agua fresca, and the Mexican flan, all made with high-quality ingredients.
The service is consistently described as great, incredibly friendly, and kind. The place itself is put together nicely with beautiful outdoor seating and good music, though the ambience is noted by some as not being exceptional. The restaurant is reasonably priced for its location but can get very busy on weekends while being quieter on weekdays. It is considered by many to be the best Mexican restaurant in San Jose.
