“This place is straight out of a book and or movie, really cool setting! The drinks go hand in hand, everything from the food to the cocktails are all curated so perfectly and the service is top notch and very helpful when it comes to deciphering which cocktail(s) you may like most.“
“Love this place. Although it is in San Jose downtown which is a rough area but San Pedro Square stands out. They have multiple food options, various cuisines from different countries, coffee shop, bars, a small shop etc. Everything is self service.Tons of seating options both indoor and outdoor. Also they have quite a few security guards near outdoor seating area for your peace of mind.I always love the vibe of this place. Weekends are buzzing here with occasional live music and bands. There’s a parking garage right next to it.Great to come here either with friends or with family. It caters to everyone.“
“Varied menu and good service. The menu includes several gluten free entries. The staff are knowledgeable about special dietary requirements. I had Chilean sea bass and it was delicious! The only drawback is that it can get quite noisy.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegetarian options.“
“This place is cozy and very cute! They have a nice happy hour with delicious drinks. They may be a bit understaffed but they have nice service (just takes a while). I liked the drink and food options during happy hour. Seems like a fun place to get wine and live music as well.“
“Delicious and savory food, one item that stood out to me was their elote wich was fried, I never tried it like that before and it was so good. Kind of disappointed when I ordered the churros and at the picture they present an ice cream and it didn't come with it, when I called the server to ask for it he said they didn't even had the ice cream, and it was just for the pic, so keep that in mind ?Staff is okay, place is a little loud but it's understandable for a bar“
“Really great oak cabinetry around the bar. You can tell it's very old school and not like antique to where it's noticeably older. Whoever is the one that keeps up with the bar and keeping the wood and great shape is amazing. I really like that place. Customer service is awesome. Bartenders are awesome, very quaint place to kind of chill and relax on a date“
“Bazille is a great place to catch up with friends, family, and enjoy a tasty meal while at Valley Fair. The seating booths are comfortable and the servers are friendly.I ordered the crab bisque and it is filled with great flavor that melts in your mouth. The steak was yummy and paired well with the kalamata aioli dipping sauce. The best part about Bazille is their delicious fries and kalamata aioli dipping sauce. They are my favorite, a must-try for anyone trying Bazille for the first time.If you are looking for a great place to unwind and eat in the mall, look no further than Bazille“
“The bar setting in the middle of a beautiful hotel gives a very warm open feeling. It was surprisingly empty but I attributed that to being spring break week. Everything we ordered was amazing. We have the beef skewers which were cooked to perfection, the salmon skewers were on the sweet side but great, shishito peppers were prepared in the most unique way I’ve seen, tempura was perfectly light and the fried avocado was very unique and tasty. Cocktails were on point. Live music started right as we were leaving which is a nice touch. This place should be crowded given the quality of the food and the location. But the lack of energy made the atmosphere feel too quiet. Overall fantastic culinary experience however.“
“Braise is always amazing. The menu choices change pretty regularly but they have their staple items which are wonderful and tasty. I have never had anything there that was not wonderful. The cheddar beignets, the Tam and Jam and their brunch omelette was great!“
“When I visited on a Sunday night, there were not too many people, and the wide space made me feel comfortable (a friend said it was very full on Friday and Saturday nights)! The bartending, meals and service are impeccable, and the guards at the door are strict and kind-hearted, giving people a sense of security while spending time here. After all, the security in the city... you never know what will happen in the next second!Next time I will try to sit at the bar during happy hours and get together with friends here again!“
“It was my first time here since new ownership, I wasn't even aware the restaurant had changed from Benedicts. Alot of the menu is the same with some new additions. The food was wonderful and so was the service! Can't wait to come back & try more things on the menu!“
“Americanized Italianish comfort food with an excellent selection of beers and good cocktails. The front of the house staff is surprising nerdy. I'd trust the staff on a video game recommendation before a beer recommendation, but that's why I love them“
“Secco at SJ downtown hikton was great restaurant. The ambiance was modern and unique. The ordered entrée all came and served on timely and the food quality all exceeded our expectations. The restaurant staff were very friendly & attentative, definitely recommend anyone thinking about hosti a g birthday or anniversary dinner.“
“It's been at least 10 years since I'd visited Jack's, so I popped in real quick because I was in the area. I ordered a couple of beers and a whiskey from Monica the bartender and I must admit this place looks better than before with the remodeling and outdoor patio. It was how I like a bar to be, dimly lit, sports on Tv's and music playing. I would definitely stop by again when I get a chance.“
“Very surprised they let us make a reservation at 6:15p but the restaurant closes at 6:30p. Turned out the serving staff is great and we get the whole restaurant to ourselves but we didn't feel comfortable to stay for too long since we were keeping the staff from closing up the shop.“
“Went to this neighborhood bar for a quick drink and some feel good fun and this place didn't disappoint! Drinks are reasonably priced and the bar tender was friendly, inviting and attentive. Added bonus, we met the owner and he was super nice. Great time! Will come again ?“
“I absolutely love the Asian-inspired cocktails at this place, especially my favorite, the lychee martini. During Christmas, they introduced some festive variations on the drinks, and they were delicious! The music is always lively, mostly playing hip-hop. The venue tends to get quite crowded, probably because it's on the smaller side. The crowd mainly consists of young Asian Americans and ABGs (if you know what I mean).“
“My friend and I (vegetarian) enjoyed our dinner at Olla Cocina. The atmosphere was lively, the service was excellent, and the food did not disappoint! As a vegetarian, I absolutely loved the Chile Relleno and the Enchiladas. Our non-vegetarian friends raved about the beef burra Tacos, and we all agreed the Mezcal Margarita was a standout drink. The only minor misstep was that the Churros we ordered for dessert were a bit cold. However, the staff were incredibly attentive and immediately removed them from our bill when they noticed we hadn't touched them.Overall, Olla Cocina was a fantastic dining experience. We highly recommend it for anyone looking for delicious and modern Mexican cuisine with great service and a vibrant atmosphere.“
“What an incredible vibe and a staple for the downtown San Jose area. People are always going to have some input, but.. If you know you know. This is always Poppin and the mixologists along with the selection is just top-tier. That's right these aren't just bartenders here. If you are about advanced selections and especially Japanese whiskey level cocktails, don't sleep on this spot.“
“I’d highly recommend this spot. The food was great and well seasoned. The staff were also super kind. I accidentally dropped one of the dishes I ordered and they immediately an offered a replacement free of charge. Will definitely be going back here : )“
“Step into this cool old saloon styled gem in downtown San Jose. The bartenders are true alchemists, concocting drinks that taste like liquid history with a modern twist. Most Friday nights the scene is combined with live tunes setting the mood. Plenty of seating, even a cool nook with couches at the front. Great collection of alcohol on the back wall and experienced bar tenders aim to please with whatever your tastebuds desire. Great place to stop for a quick drink on your night out. 4 out of 5 stars - just because I think they should have more restrooms for a bar this size.“
“This is a great Taco place, but I saw some black female customers calling a latino woman a "zero" with the hatred in her eyes. I was out of the blue and didn't know what has happening??? Later, when I chatted with a latino man, he told me that the latino woman cut the black lady line, and the black female get so angry. Sigh, what's going on in this world??? By the way, the taco tastes so well, I enjoyed it !!!“
“Went for the weekend to San Jose to watch the 49ers game and we decided to pick Javi's as our bar for the night. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. We can tell everybody there were regulars, but no one treat it us like outsiders. We had a blast we got to talk and laugh with some regulars. We had so much fun that We forgot our credit card. Lisa went out and beyond to contact me to let me know. I already thought she a was wonderful bartender but she blew my expectations. We definitely want to go back when ever we are in San Jose. Thank you Javi's.“
“The boyfriend and I stumbled across this hidden gem by accident -- and, we're so glad that we did.For starters, we were able to grab a seat immediately upon walking in on a Saturday night. Our bartenders were absolutely fantastic -- very fun, engaging, and entertaining. I wanted a cocktail but didn't care for the way it's traditionally made so they got creative for me, and the drink was soooo good. Refreshing, and very light -- even the boyfriend was impressed. He had a couple beers on tap and shared that they were also good. The menu is unique in that there are skewers of all kinds offered. It's not something you see all the time and the variety is pretty cool. We even got to sample one on the house, and it was really good! Here are the options offered as of October 2022:Lamb Skewer $2.85Chicken Skewer $2.85Beef Skewer $2.85Hot Link $2.85Green Chili Skewer $1.95Mushroom Skewer $1.95Eggplant Skewer $1.95In addition to the skewers, the menu also offers small bites to pair with your drink of choice.Corn on the Cob $2.85French Fries $3.95Chili Fries $7.95Garlic Fries $4.95Chili Bowl $495Dumplings $4.95Cucumber w/ garlic $4.95Vegetable Egg Rolls $4.95Onion Rings $4.95Must admit, the prices are more than fair for small bites in downtown San Jose. We had a few drinks before Ubering home. Shout out to this joint for an incredible experience. We'll be back to visit soon!“
“OH MY GOD. This food is to die for. I have had tons of dishes and all are good, but my favorites are the eggplant (and I normally don’t like eggplant!), meatballs, and falafel. I also love the Brussels sprouts, and the artichoke flatbread. I recommend getting a few small items and splitting. So good. And the BAKLAVA! It is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Like no baklava I’ve ever tasted. It’s magical.“
“We had great time here!??The bar room decoration and vibe is really good.My friend made a new besty? (our waiter)Her drink was on fire ?My drink was best mocktail everThe coconut shrimp was really amazing, I had 2 baskets of it.And my formerly vegetarian friend asked if shrimp has bone in it ?Another tips: come on weekday nights, because you can barely enter the door during weekend as this place is so popular.Parking: There is a huge parking garage right cross the street. 90 free but ~5 dollars /hr after that.Street parking is about 1 dollars / hr.Wheelchair accessibility: First floor“
“Still at the restaurant celebrating my granddaughters 17th birthday. Haven't been to Scott's in years. Very glad we came tonight. My petrale sole was so delicious. The sauce was perfection. Literally everything on my plate, petrale sole, french fries and vegetables, was cooked perfectly. We are a party of 9 and the delivery of food was spot on. Our waiter, Christopher, has been awesome. Can't imagine how it could have been better.“
“Omggggg the food is sooooo good!!! Can't wait to go back, it's super loud in there, and service isn't that great, they never come back to the table so when you go make sure you're calling them over for refills and more drinks!! Their $5 palomas are delicious, get a few!! Just letting you all know the truth, but I highly recommend you still go and eat there!! It's honestly the best food so far, and I'm very picky!!!“
“Exceptional drinks at Mortar and Pestle! This unique bar infuses Indian flavors into their cocktails, creating a delightful fusion of taste and culture. However, the bar's design could be improved as there are too many doors, resulting in a somewhat disjointed ambiance and frequent disruptions as people enter and leave. It's so f**** cold when people/guests do this and I think it's a bit rude when there are clearly signs that they should use a separate entrances. When we were there, this one dude was entering and leaving for a smoke multiple times and he couldn't care less he was being so disruptive. He smelled like a chimney every time he walked in, along with bringing in a flux of cold air. (We were sitting by the door). Not the bar's fault. Just nature of design of this bar. Bar seating also not comfortable as it's mostly consisted of mostly high tables and stools. And the only comfortable seating area is right by 2 f*** doors. Despite this, the outstanding drinks make Mortar and Pestle a standout. Food also amazing, though not traditional Indian food. They are a chain so you have a bit of a corporate feel, but definitely worth it for fusion and unique drinks.“
“Wonderful staff that are courteous and knowledgeable. Letting me try couple different beers before I pick mine up!The Pilsner are light but with good body and full of flavor. . I would likely to come back to try something else!Burger is good also. It’s meaty and tastes good! The chicken strips are just okay! You you like to watch sports and have a beer, this is the place for you!Parking: Free parking, parking entrance is next to the front door! Lots space when we visited on the Friday afternoon.“
“Great ambience, clean and modern. All the food was amazing, we had the chile relleno and chicken mole enchilada and both were delicious. There's desserts off the menu, we had the tres leches which is made to look like a potted plant and the "soil" is the dessert. Must go!“
