“Miracle on 1st street is the best time of year“
“Cocktail spot with quality snacks in downtown Willow Glen. 4.5 stars
Food: 4z5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
Cost to worth it rating: 3
Opentableable: no reservations
Return worthiness: yes
Highlights:
- Sandwich: the focaccia was heavenly. So fresh, warm, soft, sponger, and thick. The prosciutto mozzarella pesto arugula and balsamic combo worked well in it. 5 stars
- Happy hour: til 6 everyday
- Towels in bathroom to dry your hands instead of paper towels: nice touch
- Happy hour bubbly: assumed it would be Prosecco but was a French one and a nice pour so I was excited.
- Honey bear drink: a cherry cola served in a honey bear was fun
- Atmosphere: some seats at a small bar, some outside, and table seating inside.
Midlights:
- Lychee martini and old fashioned weren't great and some of our go tos usually.
Lowlights
- They were out of the HH Manhattan Hub and there was no substitute provided for whiskey which seems like table stakes for a cocktail place. They offered the old fashioned but not happy hour priced. My hub was not a vodka, gin, or mezcal person which the others had so he was out of luck.“

“I ordered chicken and sausage gumbo. I asked them to make it spicy. They made it spicy and tasted legit. I'll definitely order it spicy next time.
They always have a good selection of beers. This time they had an even bigger selection in the patio area.“

“We really enjoyed our first trip to this charming small eatery in downtown San Jose. Tucked away on Post north of First St., without obvious signage, The Club can be hard to find, but is worth the search. The craft cocktails were creative, interesting, and delicious. The Kale salad was a large serving, with a tasty house made dressing and a variety of fresh ingredients. The Short Ribs are were tender moist and delicious, served over a small serving of parsnip purée. My seafood pasta was deliciously sauced with generous portions of shrimp and salmon, though a little more pasta would have been nice. Crème Brûlée was delicious. Prices are moderate, appropriate for quality. Service was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful,. Decor is minimalist but tasteful. Overall very enjoyable, a good time was has by all!“

“I thoroughly enjoyed Mix Huevos.
The menu has variety, but not to the point of being overwhelming.
I had the dulce de leche pancakes combo, the pancakes 🥞 were HUGE!!! They were just a bit too dense for me, I prefer them light & fluffy. I had bacon and country potatoes with my pancake combo and both were really good. My friend had the chorizo scramble and added avocado. 🥑 she said it was really good, the portions are very big, so you’re definitely getting what you pay for.
The servers were very kind and attentive, the restaurant is very big as well, so it would be great for parties and get togethers. No complaints“

“Stevie's Bar & Grill in San Jose isn't just a bar, it's a sanctuary for the soul and a paradise for beer enthusiasts. Each time I return to San Jose, Stevie's is my go-to spot, a reliable haven where the beer flows as freely as the good times. With a draft beer selection that's second to none, Stevie's is like a grand library of brews, each one a story waiting to be savored. The attentive staff elevates the experience, making sure your glass is never empty and your spirits are always high. The vibe here is electric yet welcoming, a perfect backdrop for the delectable snackable treats they serve. And if you're in a crunch for time, the adjacent laundromat turns a chore into a chance for relaxation – sip and savor while you spin and rinse! Stevie's is more than a bar; it's a clever twist on the traditional, a gem that makes San Jose shine a little brighter.“

“We have been customers of Bazille across several states for years. We find the food to be of good quality, well-prepared, and served with great care. The service was great at the Bazille in San Jose. The atmosphere was elegant casual and conducive to a nice dinner with family or friends without having to compete with noise. I rarely give a 5-star rating in food. The food here is solid.“

“This venue serves a Mediterranean and Latin fusion of classic dishes. Very attentive and friendly staff. They offer small complementary bites and an appetite cleanser between the course. The food was fresh and delicious. The serving size were modest, and the prices were average for an upscale restaurant.“

“Wish I lived closer so I could come back sooner. Lunch special is a mini pizza and side salad or cup of soup. Enjoyed everything and excited to have my leftovers later. (Gave 1 less star because the clam chowder was mostly broth but it was delicious)“

“I ordered the burrito bowl. It was very fresh and high quality Mexican food, much better than the majority of Mexican restaurants in the area. Good food, nice service; the food was served quickly and it was affordable during lunch time. Thank you Angelou’s for the delicious lunch!“

“The moment I sat down, the bartender made the whole place feel welcoming with genuinely friendly service. The menu surprised me in the best way-creative American and Asian fusion dishes that taste just as good as they look. Prices lean a little higher, but the quality absolutely matches what you’re paying for.
The food hits the spot, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it’s a perfect place to bring someone for a casual date or a quick, tasty meal. I’ll definitely be coming back!“

“I discovered the place by accident. I was next door inside Michaels having some art pieces custom framed when I decided to look for a place to stop by to eat. I was starving. I was craving for pasta. And thats how I got to discover this place. I ordered the chicken fettucine alfredo. Love the dish with its chunky chicken pieces and al dente pasta. The complimentary cheese sticks with that cheese pimiento cheese spread was a delightful surprise. Next time Ill check their lasagna and clam chowder. I heard their clam chowder is as good as Boulins in San Francisco. I dont have to make a drive to the city to enjoy a good bowl of chowder. The lasagna looks so rich as well as their chopino. Im definitely comjng back.“

“Food was decent, fresh, uninspired.
Service was slow even at less than half capacity, an incorrect order was put on our table, and we were offered a refill on drinks after we asked for the check.
Not every server has the energy needed for this space.
Really great location, great open design, great place for functions.
They need to put diatomaceous earth in their planters for the flies.“
“Graduation day. Sister in law. I love her. We were early. We arrived an hour before the graduation started so hells yeah I'm gonna get a drink to kill time. Brother and law and I went out while mother and sister in law headed to the venue. This was 4 blocks from the San Jose State University campus and was one of the the few bars open at this hour so we hit it. It is located inside of the SOFA market which is like a small version of San Pedro square if you've ever been there. It houses smaller restaurants and eateries inside a building and Fountainhead was in the far back. This means that you cannot see it from the street. Regardless, they have a move isolated space with plenty of seating shared with an Indian restaurant on the right.
This place is legit. Small bar, few tap selections, but good enough. Frosted mugs and a friendly bartender.
Walked away with a great drink, a reasonable buzz, and made it to the graduation with time to spare. Do it.“
“One of the best clubs to visit in San Jose. Great artistic interior, TV's everywhere, big dance floor, very spacious, and friendly staff. Thank you to the hostess that night, and our waiter 'Izeln' (apologizes if i spelled it wrong), very attentive and made it a awesome experience.“

“First time eating at Secco, and I was truly impressed. We had a large party of 12, and Horacio took great care of us. This place is a hidden gem, with a charming ambiance both inside and out. It’s also budget-friendly, offering good-quality food. The portion sizes felt just right, too. We will definitely be back again in the near future.“

“This place was pretty busy on a weekend. The entrance is a brief walk down stairs. The ambiance is dark, loud (lots of chatting), but with cool vibes. Seating is tough but the Mezcal cocktails were great. The staff was super friendly and professional. Prices were in line with other spots and an overall great experience.“
