“Cute little deli and market on the east side of downtown San Mateo. There’s a decent selection of hand-made gourmet sandwiches, and a small shopping area while you wait for the sandwiches to be made. Portions are decent and reasonably priced. Fast and friendly service. Limited free street parking.“

“I celebrated my graduation last night in this excellent restaurant. Well we passed a marvelous evening and the restaurant was evidently one of the reasons for that happy meeting. The crew participated in a lovely style, the cooking was yummy and my buddies were extremely overjoyed. We shall definitely visit again for more events. thanks very much.“

“Super friendly and welcoming staff! Had the bacon and turkey deluxe sandwich on a Dutch crunch roll. Bread came toasted and meat and cheese melted. Was going to save the other half when I saw how huge it was but I shamelessly devoured the whole thing. Cannot wait to be in the area again. Highly recommend.“

“Saturdat morning my dad and I had breakfast here and the croissant sandwich were great! The quality of the food and the owner made such a nice impression that we went back for lunch the next day (Sunday). We both had one of their roast beef sandwiches and were very happy with them. Great quality ingredients and large portions. I haven't been in during the lunch rush but our breakfast and lunch sandwiches were done in less than 10 minutes! I wish I knew about it sooner and I'll definitely be back! I love supporting our local businesses!

They have indoor seating and a couple of tables out front. There is parking right in front and a few spots on the north side of the building.

“Lovely quaint little homestyle Italian deli with sandwiches, sausages, salads and soup. Thoroughly enjoyed, food was well proportioned but toothpicks and a nicer bathroom could have been better employed.

Dietary restrictions: Unfortunately for vegetarians/people who can’t eat meat, there are little to no options for non meat or dairy consumers. Most sandwiches have pastrami and cheese.

Kid-friendliness: Not too good if you have a picky kid. Can do substitutions; removals, etc but generally not kid friendly.“

For a lil store selling Boars Head sandwiches, this place is pretty solid. The tri tip sandwich smacks and for $16 it's priced just about right. Other sandwiches are priced lower depending on what you get

Whenever I go I always get everything in it like peppers, tomatoes, pickles, pepperchini, etc. Everything is pretty fresh

If you go here for lunch dont go at standard lunch times like 11-12 otherwise you might be waiting in line because it's a popular spot.

I would absolutely recommend coming here and trying a sandwich“

I love the turkey sandwich the most. My husband loves the Always Thanksgiving sandwich. They also have a great selection of fresh breads. My favorite is the Dutch Crunch.“

“Prima Deli is now my goto deli in the area. Their tri-tip sandwiches is one of the best that I have ever had. They cook it in house and use the deli slicer to cut the tri tip, so it is never chewy and always tastes great. The staff is friendly and efficient and there is plenty of seating. Can’t miss this spot.“

“Thanksgiving 2025 went to pick up ham the day before Thanksgiving at 7:30AM. As expected there was a brief line, although early and some confusion about the line, even though there was only one line. I remember the employee from last year (when I made the mistake of picking up the ham day before Thanksgiving at 5:30PM never again). An employee came out (older black man with pretty green eyes) and was doing his best to announce the difference of lines pre-paid versus reservation/non pre-paid. What can I say, people just don’t listen but he came out periodically to ensure any new customers in the line knew which line. The wait was about 15min in the pre-paid line to pick up ham. The staff allowed me to pick up 2 sweet 12-ct Hawaiian roll bags. The ham was gooooddddd!!!!“
