“Super nice guy making delicious hot dogs on the soquel frontage road (soquel Ave) guy thanked us for our patience even though it was extremely fast and then checked to see how everything was tasting even though we were a little ways from his cute airstream on some benches (there are some benches nearby where you can enjoy your dog) my girl and I both got the Chicago dog, YUM!“

Hot Dog on a Stick American •
400 Beach St, Santa Cruz

“No trip to the boardwalk is complete without a trip to Hot Dog On A Stick. In fact, it is the one thing I miss more than anything from my trips to the boardwalk. You have your choice of what goes inside that crispy delicious deep fried batter. In fact sometimes I just want to eat the outside, dipped in mustard. I really love this place.“

“The service was quick, and staff were very friendly. We had a dog with us and staff was very nice to it. All the fries were seasoned well and made with just the right amount of crispness. The Biddy Burger is on the kids menu, but is still really filling. The decorations inside were so interesting, fun, and cute!“

“If you are trying to figure out what to eat in Capitola I HIGHLY recommend Left Coast Sausage Worx.To start the service was outstanding. Very friendly and welcoming. The choices of sausage were spot on. I normally stay away from the average hot dog. But Left Coast Sausage Worx has some of the highest quality of sausages in Santa Cruz. They post all the details of the sausage on the menu and source multiple options from Corralitos, home to mouth watering sausages.Their buns are sourced from Aldos bakery. A local bakery/restaurant that my family has been going to for years. For thoes not interested in meat they have a veggie sausage! This was my order and it was the most flavorful sausage I had ever tried. Had my boyfriend try it and he was mind blown for how rich it was with italian flavor. You can find some bomb eats here without breaking the bank.Highly recommend and will be returning.“

A&W Restaurant Fast Food • $
2120 41st Ave, Capitola

“It was a good idea having KFC and A&W combined. I enjoyed having the choice between the two places or a little of both. I went with three chicken strips and a double cheeseburger combo. Both were hot and seemed really fresh. The chicken was super tender and the burger had a great flavor. The fries were also some of the best I've had in a while. They had a little seasoning on them which tasted really good. The restaurant doesn't have a lot of places to sit but even to go would be a great option. Definitely worth a try.“

Georgie's Cook House Burgers • $$
Felton

“Open daily through Spring and Summer and on weekends during winter. It's a great pitstop for before or after the Roaring Camp train ride with food that is quickly turned around. Our kids would not have lasted the drive to Santa Cruz with no lunch so this was very convenient for us.They serve burgers, nuggets, fries, ice cream, chili, and coffee.Cheeseburger, slightly on the smaller size so not so good for sharing. Tasted OK, would be good to pair with fries or chips for a more complete meal.Chicken Nuggets and Fries, these were also OK. Nuggets needed a bit more seasoning but the fries were hot and fresh with a good amount of salt.Extra stars for staff who dealt with a super-rude customer. He was cursing at them for letting someone "cut" in line in front of him literally only taking a minute to order and he was waiting in front of the window instead of to the side like everyone else.“
