“Holy Schnike!!! The food is incredibly delicious, the non-seafood versions I am getting are the most amazing tastes. The Wines paired with the dishes are inspired and spot on.“

“Big love from Korea! the food was fantastic, and the service was friendly and warm
Although we were foreigners, there was nothing difficult enjoying the course.
The dishes were very creative. Flavor of the ingredients was harmonious, recipe was very creative.
Thanks a lot for the fantastic dinner!“

“One of the best dining experiences we’ve had.
Californios is a Michelin two star restaurant well deserving of this recognition.
I wouldn’t change any part of their course menu and was blown away at the experience offered here.“

“Very good, but not perfect. Maybe the recent Michelin star and the hype skewed some of my expectations, but while some dishes were outstanding, others fell a bit flat.
The beginning of the meal started out stronger, with a simple, but satisfying bread and butter and flavorful first course, for which I received a vegetarian variation to accommodate my finned fish allergy.
The 2nd course with the poached egg was definitely the best part of the whole meal - very rich, but silky and complex with flavor and texture.
The 3rd course pastas were both amazing for the same reasons as the 2nd and a close favorite.
The 4th courses were where things disappoint a bit: Though the lobster 3 ways sounds great, the stew was a little too overpowering in flavor and hiding the lobster's flavor (though there was a decent amount of lobster meat in there). The sauce that accompanied the tail was delicious, but the tail was uneven in doneness, with the narrow part a bit overdone while the thicker part was just right. The tempura claw was perfect and the best part of the main course.
For my husband's main course- the wagyu bavette. It was delicious.
The 5th course - dessert - was also a mix. I found the chocolate pear too one-note and overpowering with pear (expecting other flavors to come out of the chocolate, cake, or almond shortbread). My husband's sundae was much better with all the right flavors and balance coming through.
Overall, this was a great meal, but not perfect.“

“썰 was an memorable experience. Every dish was beautifully executed. For a Korean American, the ingredients were an emotional process. While each dish focused on/showcased the high quality of ingredients, the flavors were a nuanced balance between Korean and Western cultures. Choosing quality over local at each crossroads, many evoked memories of my Korean childhood.
The lynchpin for this beautiful evening was when the chef unexpectedly spent time with us; shared a rare insight behind the scenes. At our table, few were from the East Coast or not Korean American, thus not realizing the backstory to arriving to this moment. I so appreciate the honesty as validated the constant struggle between balancing Korean/American expectations, especially in this time/place. To tie such a diverse audience, the chef executes well.“

“Tasting menu was tailored for the 4 vegetarians/pescatarians out of 5 in our group. Each item was very tasty and we enjoyed to the last bite. Servers were very professional and knew their stuff. Since we were there for our anniversary, we received a card from them which basically thanked us for making them part of our celebration. Classy touch!“

“Wow. Benu takes Asian cuisine to a whole new level. There are flavors from Chinese, Japanese and Korean food that is amazing. I am not a huge fan of quail, but wow. The quail presented was so delicious.
The small bites were perfect to get you in mood the for wonderful bigger plates. The vegetarian substitutions could have been a little more inspired, but still tasty.
I agree with decor. It is very minimalist, which is unexpected for find dining.
The staff were very very attentive. It was great. For the wine pairing though, they would be a little more generous so that the bites fit the drinks.“

“We came here for our anniversary after selecting it mostly at random from a list of places we wanted to try. My husband and I were both blown away by how good the food was. I had expected that it was going to be good based on the reviews, but I didn't expect it to be as far above exceptional as it was. We had the tartare, smoked deviled eggs, Cavalier fries, grilled shrimp & octopus, and salmon. I don't think either of us could realistically pick a favorite dish. However, the octopus was exceptionally tender and succulent. Drinks were great. Service was very attentive and friendly. We'll absolutely be back to check out more of the menu soon.“

“The wild sf is worth being passionate about. An unbelievably hardworking team, working in a space that prioritizes intimacy between chefs, service professionals, and the guests. You cannot sit at the counter and feel disconnected from the displays of culinary excellency happening in the space. The food is innovative and inspiring, but simultaneously grounded, connected deeply to the values of the team that prepares it. The hospitality is genuine and led by some of the most talented professionals in this industry. Stop in and experience it for yourself; my words can only go so far.“

“Nice little spot! Emphasis on little. Went in, was the only diner for a while until a few other folks came in. Sat at the counter that had a convenient foot bar. Staff was attentive. The music was really calming too.
Ordered the duck breast ramen for 1$18 and it was so good! Great flavors! Was so excited to eat, I burned my tongue a little🥲 Didn’t try any sushi, but if you’re looking for a ramen fix, you won’t be disappointed!“
“Pizza was amazing and the music was awesome 💕 a great neighborhood place with friends!“
“Fine-dining meal for $19!!This is a wonderful little restaurant, on the fourth floor of Burk Hall, that's only open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays currently. You should make a reservation on Yelp, but I think they allow walk-ins. There's a prix fix option, which is just under $20.50 after tax. You get to choose an appetizer, entree, and dessert, and drinks. Only cash or checks are accepted. The bread provided was foccacia cut into diamond-shaped pieces. The bread that they first brought out was hard and dry, so I told them it was hard. More bread was brought out promptly and it was softer, but still dry. I didn't tell them it was dry because I didn't want to be difficult. I had some lemonade to drink, and it was pretty good. I also had tea at the end, but it was piping hot and I didn't get a chance to drink much. It was fine.I chose to have the house green salad for my appetizer. It was a good mix of leafy-greens covered in vinaigrette. It wasn't special, but good. I decided to have the pasta of the week for my entree. It was penne pasta salad with feta cheese, capers, and cooked grape tomatoes. It was absolutely delicious and I basically inhaled it. For dessert, I chose the pumpkin bundt cake. It was fantastic. It was moist, soft, a little misshapen, but still delicious. The créme anglaise was like melted ice cream, and I loved it.The waiters were students and had more to learn. Service was very good, despite mistakes. The person who seemed like an instructor was great. You won't be able to find a three-course fine-dining meal anywhere else in San Francisco for the same price. The portions are good sizes and you'll leave feeling fed, but not stuffed. I highly recommend checking this place out.

“I had the opportunity to share in this experience with my Twin foodie. We started off with the Caviar Quintet and then proceeded to order the ENTIRE small plates menu. It was a culinary journey rooted in love for fresh foods and a passion for food that tastes good. I enjoyed the intimate setting and being able to watch the culinary chef in action as he prepared our dishes. This is a must if you enjoy dining experiences, good food, and good company. The menu changes seasonally so I will be back to experience more unique and flavorful dishes.“
