“Los Alpes has always been there for me on hot summer days. Their ice cream and revueltos are extremely satisfying. I always take a box of a dozen paletas to go for my family at home. The service is quick and the staff are knowledgeable. The only downside is the location, there is never any street parking which has certainly turned me away sometimes. Sometimes you get lucky and find parking. 9/10 do recommend and support local businesses!“

“I was a JA kid in the 80s and 90s. After CYC basketball games and Tamiya Mini 4WD races, my family would head to the third floor of Yaohan and enjoy the great flavors of Hana-Ichimonme. This was, hands down the best ramen in downtown back then, and I can't wait to taste it once this pandemic is over. Okaerinasai!“

I drove up from Orange County and, the moment I walked in, I was greeted with an ALOHA and watched the place get packed. It was a perfect place to meet up with friends! Spam & eggs with rice for breakfast hit the spot. Malasadas are fresh and warm! Then they added live musicians playing Hawaiian music and I didn't want to leave. “Pretty good bingsu! Not the best I've had but not bad either. We had the hojicha flavor and it was refreshing. The almond croissant was nothing special though, kind of tasted like it had been sitting there for a while so I don't recommend it. Probably stick with the bingsu and drinks.“

“Refreshing Korean shaved ice with fruits. (Not to be confused with Hawaiian shaved ice.) The price tag appears a little steep for ice at first glance, but it is more substantial in content and presentation, so it is not as bad in the end. A better price point would be a dollar less.“

Soft pillowy snowy shaved ice with refreshing fruit flavors like guava and passion fruit and rich deep flavors that included Thai tea and pandan. Adding this to my must go to list. “The restaurant on the third floor that used to have mariachi shows is boarded up and closed. They been closed since the Covid shutdown. Everything else is open. There is still plenty of food and small booths selling leather goods, makeup, piñatas, traditional Mexican dresses and shirts, and lots more.“

“When I first got there it was kinda dirty on the outside but I think it had to do with the teens outside. The workers were nice and it was quick. My favorite part was everything felt homemade. She gave us our prices on a calculator and we payed through her phone. She asked if we wanted ice cream in a box and it was a cut out Oreo box. Some people may not like this but it felt like they used what they could easily access. Also the ice creams were good. My picky sister who only wanted McDonald’s enjoyed it. I am writing this on the way back in traffic because the road was shut down and we can’t leave. Supposed to give my brother ice cream but it will probally be melted when I have back home late.“

“Brought my daughter after jujitsu class... we were ordering and i saw the new reopens drinks and suggested she try one of them... she said she wanted to stick with her original order of a mango smoothie with no boba and mango jelly and popping boba... before we even paid the drink was prepared... one thing I noticed was all the employees were smiling... my daughter left her phone on the counter and we walked over to the bakery next door... as we were walking out Roxy came and brought us the phone.... thank you for a great experience and saving us a headache.“

“I have been coming here for multiple times, but this business is something else like they are very passionate in making their stuff and serving their customers. For example, their esquite is very refreshing and not very soggy and their blend ice and raspados are very delicious and tasty like they use fresh ingredients and taking their time to serve the best for their customers. I forgot to mention that it is a family business, but the only downside is that they don't accept any card payments or Apple Pay, just only cash to give you a heads up.

I always get an esquite with everything including spice and also a caramel blend ice.“

“This place is not called el Piquin Mexican Grill anymore. it’s called Taqueria La Fogata and since they have changed owners. the food has been so much better and more delicious than ever before. everything on the menu is great especially their chicken that they specialize in. every type of food from breakfast lunch and dinner. They always try to introduce something new and refreshing that anyone can and will enjoy! Whenever I have entered this store, they always have fresh corn for an esquite or fresh fruit for hot summer days. I had the chance to try the Banana Pudding Matcha, Mango Sticky Rice Matcha, and Dubai Pistachio Matcha—and the banana pudding and mango options definitely stole the show. The fruit tasted fresh, and the mix-ins were generous. The mango sticky rice matcha is more of a treat you’ll want to enjoy with a spoon or fork, so keep that in mind. The Dubai pistachio matcha was decent, though the chocolate flavor came through very lightly.

The location is great, with beautiful decor and convenient tap-to-pay options. They use ceremonial-grade matcha, which is a nice touch. There’s also plenty of parking, and the staff is consistently kind—we’ve never waited more than five minutes for our drinks.“
