“Your normal local dive bar.Crowd can be a little so so, however tends to not ever be packed. There was always some sort of celebration that would have a potluck, they were always friendly enough to ask you if you wanted to join.We would go for our quite date nights. Round 8 ish to 10 maybe 11. Pool, cheap drinks, interesting people watching and comfy clothes never stood out.“

“Every time I come in here, I wonder why I don't come more often. (Possibly the atmosphere, it's clean but not the coziest. No music or TV, not much to look at.) But the food, wow! I always get three different tacos, they're all loaded with such amazing flavors and textures. The fresh salsas are also spectacular. I need to start making this a weekly visit.“

“Favorite college neighborhood bar. Their natural wine selection is always on point as well as their beer selection. Food is delicious. I love that they always have seasonal menu items depending on what’s in season. Pool is free, AC kicks butt, and they have a great outdoor space if you ever did have a larger group. Dogs are also allowed which is nice if we ever wanna bring our pup.“

“It was my first time visiting Coin Haus, and I had an amazing time. The atmosphere was fun and full of good vibes. Jose, one of the staff members, was fantastic—he took the time to explain how everything worked and was super friendly throughout our visit, which made the experience even better. I will definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a great time with a welcoming atmosphere!“
“What a great place!! We stumbled across this place when we were out to dinner. The staff is friendly and kind. The owner Deano does all the work with the awesome bands they host on the weekends. From Country to hard rock. We haven’t heard one band we haven’t loved. If your looking for a great bar with great music this is the place. Everyone is welcome in this bar. Great atmosphere and you can even order food and eat while while you listen to fantastic music or play pool and watch sports. This is a true fabulous neighborhood bar. Come And enjoy. “Cocktails are great and the kale salad cannot be missed. I've just found on the last few visits the pizzas and patas are very tired though and haven't been changed in so long. Menu needs a little liven up. Wine by the ounce is so good though!“
“First time going here! I was skeptical at first because it’s a bit smaller than i’d like, but it turns out its a lot of fun and not as intimidating as the bigger places and $7 for 1 good sized beer, that’s a good deal! I will be returning soon, so much fun and they play plenty of todays hits and songs I know how to dance to, also no cover charge on Wednesdays!!“

“**ABSOLUTELY loved coming here!**
This summer, I’ve been on a mission to rediscover great happy hours around San Diego—especially those with amazing oyster deals. I randomly heard about **Mabel’s Gone Fishing** as a spot to check out, and on a whim, my little one and I decided to stop by right at 4 PM.
We didn’t have a reservation but arrived just in time to grab a seat outside. The outdoor setup immediately gave off a charming European vibe—reminiscent of a Paris café, with chairs facing the street, perfect for people-watching. (The decor, chairs, and tables instantly brought back Paris memories!)
**Big tip: Make a reservation**—this place fills up fast!
Even though only the happy hour menu was available (dinner service starts later), it didn’t disappoint. We ordered:
* A dozen oysters (half-price!)
* The Spanish tortilla
* And we got lucky—they happened to have caviar available!
I paired the oysters with a glass of bubbly Pinot Noir Brut from Catalonia, Spain—absolutely perfect. The gin and tonic cocktail was also refreshing and well-balanced.
Now for the surprise: my 5-year-old daughter, who has a funny and ever-evolving palate, *loved* the bread and butter... but even more shockingly, **devoured the caviar**! A first for her—and possibly a very expensive new habit for me, haha! She even tried an oyster but wasn’t quite ready for the texture—still, she gave it a go.
The oysters were fresh, with a great variety from three different regions. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The sommelier (who was also working the host stand!) was fantastic and clearly passionate about the wine list. Bonus: many of their wine selections are available for purchase next door.
I’ll definitely be coming back before summer ends—this time for dinner!“
“Definitely not a place that gets going all night like a club would but a very cool and quaint spot to grab a drink with a group friends. Pool tables and a variety of drinks on tap. Bartenders are receptive as well. Juke Box is a plus to play music of one’s choice. It’s honestly kind of it’s own place in the middle of everything, but wouldn’t mind staying here for a night and drink the night away. The Elwood is nearby too.“

“We had the pleasure of visiting this bar last year during our road trip from Nevada through California, Arizona, and Utah – and it truly became one of the highlights of our journey. What made this place so special wasn’t just the drinks, but the people. We had the most wonderful and inspiring conversations with the owner and his daughter about politics, society, the USA, and Germany.
From the very first moment, we felt less like guests and more like family. Their warmth and genuine kindness touched us deeply, and they even invited us to come back again. Sadly, we had to leave for Arizona the very next day, but this bar and the amazing people we met there will always stay in our hearts.
We sincerely hope to return one day and share more moments together. Wishing you all the best and sending warm greetings from Germany!“
“I had the pleasure of visiting BNS Brewing and Distillery in Santee, California, and it was an experience worth talking about. The brewery exudes a welcoming atmosphere with its rustic yet laid-back charm, making it the perfect spot for both regulars and newcomers. On this visit, I was there to watch my friend compete in a lively cornhole tournament, which was one of the highlights of the night. The event was impressively organized, with smooth registration, clearly designated playing areas, and a schedule that kept everything running seamlessly. It was fantastic to see a mix of serious competitors and casual players enjoying themselves and interacting in friendly competition.
The crowd added to the experience with their energy—cheering, laughing, and sharing moments that brought everyone together. Whether you were there to play or just watch, like I was, the enthusiasm was infectious. The staff at BNS played a big part in creating such an enjoyable atmosphere, always attentive and ensuring everyone had a great time.
Beyond the event, BNS Brewery’s craft beers and distilled beverages were exceptional. With a diverse range of flavors to choose from, there’s truly something for everyone. For anyone looking for a place that blends community spirit, good drinks, and quality entertainment, BNS Brewing and Distillery is a must-visit. I highly recommend it!
Shout out to AJ Bell and Emilio!“

“1st time here to watch Monday Night football and I'd definitely return.
Spacious, with roll up doors between the patio and inside makes for a chill vibe. There's a DJ booth but no DJ when I was there. I saw another space in the rear with tables and chairs that had a bar too. Women's bathroom was large and clean-yay!
Happy hour drinks were interesting and tasty but the apps for happy hour didn't appeal. No beers on tap and the Sculpin I ordered came in a can. No beer mug was offered and I had to ask the waitress for a glass. She gave me a brandy glass, so my beer could get warmer faster?
The Honey Bee drink is a good choice with the edible flower garnish. What the server called their spicy drink had little to no heat. I had the Chicken pesto Flatbread and it didn't disappoint. The liberal toppings made it more like a pizza I had to fold to eat. 10/10
It's in the Normal Heights neighborhood so the parking is minimal depending on what time you go.“
“THANK YOU CINDY ❤️I won $466 in my first try gambling. Good luck to anyone returning or first visiting. I passed by here while getting my cars windows tinted and I would never regret the comfy environment they introduced me in.Served the special they had on the board and beers I was happy with entering and leaving. The taco shop next door served me rolled tacos fast so If your hungry that’s ++Chill served liquor is available. Games like Pool and table tennis or ping pong are at the ready with regulars. A lot of hugs I notice.Small but cozy with food on the side ~Zen“
“I enjoyed myself ??? The co-owner was awesome as she moved around the crowd and spoke to ppl and seen her help clear tables ? The dj on Friday night was dope, had me dancing ?? The bartender (white dude with long hair ??) he has stellar customer service ?? met friendly people and staff! I like how they have a smoking area where you could still hear the music dead on , but they could have dimmer lights in the smoking section coz it bothered my eyes ???? I didn't get to try the food but I look forward to doing so soon!! Security was on it, great communication skills amongst each other and they paid attention all around; I felt safe.. I don't think anyone would mess with ??. Bathroom was very clean and the long mirror A+ ???. I ordered patron and redbull, I suggest they keep their redbulls chilled since a customer like myself orders the entire can ? price was decent!! I went earlier so parking was great for me but probably not for the late heads ?“
“Everything about it is fantastic! The beers are delicious and the owners are so welcoming! Thank you for hosting my 29th birthday!!!💕“

“This small brewery has become one of San Diego’s craft brewery icon in little over a decade of operation. A must try if you are in San Diego. Good beer selection from IPA to seltzers. They are known for their stouts, peanut chocolate stouts. It sounds crazy at first but when I first tried it little over a decade ago, it was nothing like anything I’ve tried. I’ve been a fan ever since.
Mostly friendly happy attentive staff. Dog friendly is a definite plus around here. Open concept of roll up doors brings the outside inside. Got a game room with pool table and taco stand outside, although it’s a little pricy.
4.4/5 ⭐️“
“Didn't eat so hard to rate but anywhere willing to have a kitchen behind the bar has gotta be pretty cool .

“Tap house with friendly and generous owner.
Keeping one of the most Varietal selections in San Diego. From local California and national breweries
Located on 3rd ave filled with eateries. Always a must to stop by and drink dessert.

“This is my favorite hole in the wall bar in Logan. Best michelada, great music, someones always putting money in the jukebox and corridos always playing. Plus they have a small pool table in there. CASH ONLY THO! Plus they have regular beer only no craft stuff like all the other bars do...“

“Craft beer places are a dime a dozen in SD, but I knew after one visit that Machete is easily going to become a favorite water hole to visit when I am in the mood for a good variety of craft beer. They have a bunch of different styles, and a selection of beers from breweries that I either haven't heard of or never tasted before. Love that. It gets boring seeing the same 3-4 breweries at every place that offers craft beer in SD.Vibe is super chill, casual and divey.Staff here is really nice. I didn't get his name, but he let me try a few different beers and gave great recommendations based on the styles I like.No food here, but the Papi’s Teppanyaki food truck is here from time to time. Check their IG for their schedule. Not sure if there are ever other options since I only recently found out about this place.Cheers!Edit: I came back a second time and the super cool bartender's name is Jett. If you come in on a day he's manning the bar, you're in great hands. :)
Kid-friendliness: There was a young family here with a stroller, but it wouldn't be my first choice for places to visit with kids.“

“Been going to Kelly's for a few years now and mad a few friends here. The ladies behind the bar are all friendly, gorgeous and good people. I never have an empty glass when at Kelly's and prices are affordable.
Kelly's has fresh popcorn but doesn't serve food. There is a Mexican Take-out next door though if you get hungry.
