“Today I went to rodeo 39 in Garden Grove with some friends and I stumbled across Kra Z Kai's. It was my second time trying Laos barbecue. This place is a hidden gem for sure. Everything was the delicious. The ribs were marinated for 24 hours. The barbecue pork and the chicken were all marinated in the same sauce. The owner told me the service was fast and this whole ambience was nice some of the best food I've had in a long time next time I'm going to Garden Grove. I will come here again.“

I went with some friends and we shared an order of the Pad Thai noodles with chicken, house fried rice with tofu, and yellow curry with chicken and potatoes. The food overall was decent and satisfying. The Pad Thai had a nice, slightly sweet flavor and was cooked just right—classic comfort food with tender pieces of chicken mixed in. The fried rice with tofu was simple but tasty, with a good texture and well-balanced seasoning that didn’t overpower. The yellow curry was creamy and mild, featuring long pieces of chicken and potatoes that soaked up the rich coconut flavor nicely. The chicken was tender the potatoes were very firm.

Inside, the restaurant has a clean and casual feel—nothing fancy, but comfortable and easy to relax in. The real bonus, though, is the atmosphere outside. Downtown Orange has a super chill vibe, and it adds a lot to the experience. “Thai food in this neighborhood have all fallen for some reason, and I thank this place for opening to pick up where they lack. I think it's great they came into a location that has very mediocre Thai restaurants around with decent ambiance but low quality food. Instead of focusing on a dine in experience, this place is all about delicious Thai take out.
The drunken pad noodles and spaghetti are great and Thai level spicy.
The pineapple fried rice is also delicious.
This is my new go to Thai spot.“

“First time going here. I got the Beef Drunken Noodle and the Seafood Tom Yum Soup. When I tell you both dishes had so much flavor and they give you big portions. The food was absolutely delicious and amazing. The waiters were very kind and very attentive. The place was decorated in Halloween decorations, so cute. I loved everything about this place. “Delish and great staff. The staff IS family and they treat not only their customers like family, but the other staff as well. That means a lot. We had a fun time with DJ and Pleng. About the food... We had 4 dishes... Hanuman's ceviche, Tom Kha Gai, Massaman, Pad See Ew and a nice glass of Malbec. My favorites were the ceviche and Massaman. But everything was so good. Hubs liked everything. There was literally no wait at 3 pm but come soon... Once word gets out this place will have a 45 min wait just like the mother location on Bristol.“

“We came here for a dinner. On a Saturday night as we love Thai food. This place was so quiet and peaceful. Basically being vegetarians we were looking for some options. We found plenty. Drunken noodles and pineapple curry were so tasty and had just enough flavours, mild and delicious. We tried their home made coconut icecream, was one of the best I had. “The Chicken Rice is one of the top spots in OC for original Khao Man Gai. It’s been a minute since my last visit, so I was surprised to discover that they relocated from their previous Santa Ana location into the 4th Street Market. The Chicken Rice joins a number of innovative food makers featured in this food hall. I parked at a nearby meter but according to their website, there are two parking structures off of 4th and 5th Streets that offer the first 2 hours free!

I recommend making it a combo with the Chicken & Rice which includes 2 choices of protein, soup and vegetables. My go-to protein choices are Hainanese Chicken and Crispy Chicken, so I get to enjoy the best of both worlds! The combo includes a choice of signature ginger rice or steamed rice, but you can choose brown rice (+$1) or sticky rice (+$2) for an additional charge. They also allow their customers to select 2 sauces from 8 different options. The Ginger Chicken Oil is a nice complement to the Hainanese Chicken and I enjoyed dipping the Crispy Chicken in their Spicy Soybean Chili Ginger sauce. If you’re a Hainan Chicken fan like I am, The Chicken Rice is a must try!“

Walked in with my husband in mid-Dec, we both are Green / Red chicken curry lovers, price is right, enjoyable food, strongly recommend. Then, got lunch special take out today, it was fast prepared. Brought it home, food temperature and taste remained Hot/Delicious as we expected. Definitely would visit or take out again.“

“One of my local favs for thai food. Fast friendly service, loved the new sauce containers. Got my go to pineapple fried rice, perfect flavoring and good portion sizing/pricing. Tried the green beans with tofu for the first time and wasn't disappointed. We even had enough for a to-go box. Gave 4* for service and atmosphere because they had this coconut chiffon cake on display but then said it was not available until maybe 2 weeks later! 😞 Also it was a bit chilly inside.🥶

“I was craving something different, so my brother suggested Thai food. We found this great little mom-and-pop spot called Mine Eathai. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly welcomed. The staff was super friendly and took the time to explain menu items we hadn’t tried before. The prices were reasonable, and the food was absolutely amazing. If you’ve never had Thai food, this is the perfect place to give it a try!“

First off, the service here is excellent!

Second, the food is great as well and very reasonably priced. We ended up ordering pad se ew with chicken ($10.99), green curry with chicken ($11.99), and panang Curry with chicken ($11.99), and Mango Sticky rice (was complimentary but usually $8.99) because my 2 y/o wouldn't stop crying. It was like magic for us. Not so much for him because he not used to those flavors yet lol. Only downside I thought about the food was the pad se ew needed just a touch more stir fry sauce,but other than that everything else was great!

The place inside is cozy. I feel like it seats about 30 people max and there are 2 booths, so if you have a stroller like we did, it gets tight. Not too sure how a Wheelchair would fit, but I'm sure the staff would be very willing to accommodate. As far parking, it's limited in a street corner 4 Plex, but come at the right time and you're good.

Overall, I definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.“

“Have been picking up takeout from this neighborhood staple for 26 years and I know people who have been eating here since 1990. D Thai Chinese is apparently a one-woman operation; the owner takes orders, cooks, serves etc. all by herself, and she is so sweet and friendly.
I can only respect how D Thai's prices remain lower than other Thai/Chinese places in the area, although the prices have been raised in the last year or so (two dollars up per lunch and dinner special). The quality of the food however has remained reliably good, fresh cooked to order, and flavorful. I don't know enough about Chinese or Thai cooking to comment on how authentic it is, but it's pretty good in my opinion and that's what matters most to me.
I've tried most of the menu over the years and the standouts to me are the fried rice, thai basil chicken, mongolian beef, beef salads, and pad see ew. The majority of the menu is four stars, but those are the five star items in my experience.
Be advised, cash only and takeout only! For what it is -- a takeout Asian hole-in-the-wall restaurant -- D Thai is a respectable local treat that I will allow myself pretty regularly within my budget. Since the owner lady is so likeable and impressive, and the food is plentiful and decent quality for your dollar, I have to rate this place five stars overall.

“Eaten at Chaba twice and it’s been a very good experience. The curry and rice is very tasty when mixed together and good quality. I highly recommend mild spicy as even the medium is pretty hot. The Fried Wontons were pretty good as well as the Thai Cold Coffee. The Customer service is excellent. You definitely get bang for the buck when it comes to lunch price. If I had one recommendation for improvement is the restaurants is a little dated and could use an upgrade inside.“

“This is one of my Thai mom’s favorite restaurants and is also a favorite for my relatives as well. While this is not close to the pinnacle of Thai food, I can admit that most of the dishes are decent. My family always gets the fried pork, thai fish cake and boat noodles. Their sausage is fine.“
