“Sleek Chinese modernist decor and tasty dumplings. The little steam basket dumplings have delicious broth and interesting flavors without being oily. The stir fried noodles and chili wonton also have good flavor. Skip the desserts as they tasted generic. The chocolate Panda is cute but nothing special.Vegetarian options: Several stir fried vegetable platters, vegetarian dumplings and noodles“
“MASTER CLASS ! My wife and I have enjoyed delicious meals at Din Tai Fung restaurants more than a few times. We love the very courteous servers who take our food order, the synchronized delivery of each item by food runners and the excellent taste of our food visit after visit. VERY IMPRESSIVE ! After a fabulous first time lunch experience here a couple of weeks ago we had to come back. This time we were hoping not to wait so long for a table ( reservations are booked out weeks in advance ) so we arrived at South Coast Plaza before 10.45am. A few minutes later we put our names down for a table with a hostess at the front entrance...it was going to be up to an hour and a half. PERFECT TIMNG ! We headed straight to Bloomingdale's to buy a new bed. At around midday my wife received a text that our table would be available in a few minutes so we came back here. EXCELLENT SERVICE ! We were ushered inside by a hostess just after midday. A manager named Alfredo ( who remembered us from our previous visit ) gave us a warm welcome and showed us to a table near the full bar. We told Alfredo we wanted to be in the area serviced by Khua the amazing server on our first visit. FIRST UP ! I said hi to Bane behind the bar who remembered me with a big smile. I asked for a beer...a Belgian Blue Moon. MEANWHILE ! Back at our table Khua our talented server was ready to help us order....we wanted to try a few new items on the menu with Khua's advice. AND WE DID ! My ice cold glass of Blue Moon arrived courtesy of Bane the bartender. LUNCH ORDER ! We ordered 1 x SHRIMP & KUROBUTA PORK DUMPLINGS, 1 x BROCCOLI WITH GARLIC, 1 x KIMCHI & KUROBUTA PORK DUMPLINGS, 1 x SHANGHAI RICE CAKES WITH SHREDDED KUROBUTA PARK, 1 x NOODLES WITH SESAME SAUCE and 1 x SHRIMP & KUROBUTA PORK SHAO MAI. Khua kindly offered to mix our dipping sauce for us...thank you. Meanwhile my ice cold Blue Moon beer tasted very refreshing. The restaurant was totally packed out with a long line outside waiting to get in. Our lunch order of 6 different dishes arrived at our table courtesy of smiling food runners incl lovely trainee manager Devery...amazingly we had it all within 10 minutes. We shared virtually everything except the Kimchi & Kurobuta Pork Dumplings ( something new ).....a little too spicy for my wife. The Broccoli with Garlic ( something new ) tasted good but we like the Green Beans with Garlic better. Of course our favs....Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Dumplings and Rice Noodles with Sesame Sauce tasted as good as ever. The Shanghai Rice Cakes with Shredded Kurobuta Pork ( something new ) tasted very good..we had this dish with shrimp on our first visit. Lastly the Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Shao Mai ( something new ) was a little on the bland side. Khua expertly boxed up what we didn't eat to take home. On the way out we ran into Harrison the friendly GM...we had a lovely chat for a few minutes. Of course we gave our meals, this impressive restaurant and our server Khua big kudos. MUST BE NUMBER ONE IN CALIFORNIA !“
“Love this place. We come once a week. We’ve tried most dishes but certainly have our favorites. Their go-to are the “pan fired buns” and handmade dumplings (Chinese cabbage & pork; both fried and boiled. Soup dumplings are also very good. BBQ pork Fried rice is awesome. (Don’t get the combo fried rice; it’s made with ‘spam’ which is not used in Chinese cooking so weird that this cook uses it. Hmmm!? The noodle soups are incredibly delicious. Just tried the hot dry noodles which is tasty. No alcohol license. No service. You come for the food.“
“We ordered food for 12 people .Party tray chicken fried rice, veg chow mein, salt and pepper chicken, beef and broccoli, salt and pepper squid and general chicken.Everyone loved everything. I loved the noodles. I was hoping for some crispy chow mein but they do it differently and it was very tasty. Prob my fav thing. Will be ordering from here again when we are in town!“
“This was our first time coming here! Long overdue. Our server Adrian S was so very nice! Not to mention all the other servers who stopped by the table. They were also so friendly! We got the stir fried string beans, the chicken and mushroom steamed Jiaozi, The pan-fried kurobuta pork and celery Jiaozi, plum braised pork belly, spicy boneless chicken, the crispy shrimp, the sweet and sour fish fillets and the beef fried rice with mushrooms, and cheese!! We have never had fried rice with cheese, and now we are going to dream of this delicious fried rice! But Holy Jiaozi!! All the food was so good. WE REALLY LOVED EVERYTHING! I have to give special mention to our favorites which were the beef fried rice, the sweet and sour fish fillets and the steamed chicken and mushroom dumplings. For drinks we got the thai milk tea, the jasmine green milk tea and the JA special milk tea which was a black tea with brown sugar I believe. The drinks were also delicious. I'm disappointed that I don't have the option here to add photos. If I could figure it out I will add them at a later date.“
“The food was excellent. We went for the Dim Sum and the waiter was very helpful with his recommendations, and we tried a variety of different Dim Sum. The atmosphere was good - not fancy but clean and welcoming. There seemed to be a lot of happy customers also enjoying their food. We will definitely go again and be regulars!“
“I thoroughly enjoy this restaurant so much!!! Everyone I have brought to eat here has either become a full fledged customer themselves, or if not from the area, they have enjoyed it as much as my wife and I have. The service has ALWAYS been very minimal, but you are there to eat good food in a beach community, your not eating at the 4 Seasons. That said, if you need service, sit at the bar area, it will allow you to get there attention easier, and get more water, or whatever you required.“
“Truly a wonderful experience eating here. I got their spicy crispy pork rice, and only wish I could’ve eaten a bit more. Then I got their dessert: the mango with sticky rice and bah god it was a heaven sent. I felt my soul had been cleansed, as if my diarrhea from the night before had become a purified memory. Also, my server was very cultured and friendly, even naming the dessert in my own language that I didn’t know the name of. Very grateful to have dined here, and would come here more often once I am no longer jobless and scraping pennies off of random openings in thrown-away couches!“
“The food was great. I had the egg rolls, meat mountain, dim sum and chives, and the hot honey fried chicken bao. The price point is a little high but if you don't want Chinese fusion food that doesn't put you in a food coma, I feel it's fair. Nothing I had was dosed in oil. Few notes:- the spicy wasn't crazy, just a "zing" , then again this is coming from someone who eats chili and Saracha religiously.- if you like garlic, this is the place- the crunch on the food is A+Wheelchair accessibility: Has a ramp“
“On top of their famous dumplings, we love all others we ordered.Beef curry rice bowl -- generous portion, tender beef brisket stew, mild Southeast Asisan flavor curry sauce. Yummy!Asisan Salad Bowl -- the dressing is very special and hearty, it tastes like made from fresh green chiliAngus Beef Bun -- delicious soft beef chunks on soft steam bun, tossed with spicies.“
“Furiwa ToGo! I could live off them buns! Beware, it's a ghost kitchen inside another restaurant. Fun to find inside the commercial office courtyard. Excellent food minus the hard-to-find nature for a to-go menu! Totally stoked on them pork buns. Expensive, but I'm ready for more.“
“The Tustin location has introduced a new dish, after seeing it on Instagram, I couldn't resist giving it a try!Initially, I was concerned that the crispy skin might make the chicken dry, but my worries were quickly dispelled with the first bite—it was incredibly juicy!Of course, I couldn't resist ordering dumplings as well. For me, dumplings are the epitome of Chinese cuisine, so I make sure to order them every time I visit.“
