“This is Taiwan style hotpot which is pretty different from other styles of hot pot. The broth is lighter and tastes more homestyle and there are less crazy chemicals in the soup base. The meat and veg feels higher quality than all you can eat spots. I got a set menu and was super full and couldn’t finish it. Great “
“I would want to award this fantastic restaurant in the SF Bay region ten stars since the superior service makes me feel extremely warm, and this is the greatest spot to get real authentic Taiwanese cuisine in the East Bay!“
“I walked in here shortly after they opened on a weekday and was warmly greeted by the staff in Mandarin. I honestly felt like I was transported to a breakfast cafe in Taiwan - love it! We ordered breakfast to go: Taro veggie sung sando ($8.75) Cheese crepe ($8) Signature sando ($5.5) Soy milk black tea ($4.50; got a $0.50 discount for ordering with a meal) The taro veggie sung was packed between slices of soft bread with the crusts cut off. I've had veggie sung before, but not with taro paste, so it was a nice combo of savory and sweet. I did wish it had a little bit more flavor, but overall, not bad. The cheese crepe is not your traditional French crepe. It's a Taiwanese-style crepe and is clearly indicated on the menu as such. All the crepes come filled with egg and green onion as a base. It's savory and came with a sauce to douse over it. I added some hot spot and it was delicious! Reminded me of breakfasts my mom would prepare for me as a kid. Signature sandwich comes with cucumber, ham, egg, and a pork patty. My boyfriend inhaled it and although he seemed to think it's nothing special, it's a quick and filling meal. I ordered the soy milk black tea without any sugar, and although I appreciated that I was able to do so, the ratio of tea to soy milk tasted off. It was more black tea than soy milk, so in hindsight, I should have just stuck to plain soy milk. Regardless, would definitely come back if I was in the area and wanted a quick bite!“
“Chicken steak is deliciousThe pork ribs are pretty good, but I feel like they were braised for a short time. I personally like a little sweetness. The frozen lemon tea is delicious and not too sweetThe boss is from ChiayiI want to try chicken rice next time!“
“Yum yum! I love this location so much, very convenient, and the quality of their fried chicken is so crunchy. it stays crunchy after a while. Easy access inside Ranch 99.I highly recommend this location over barber lane, it's hit or miss.“
“The food here is good and very affordable compared to other restaurants. Service was good and fast. Atmosphere was very nice. Dumplings, potstickers, and drunk chicken were 10/10. Eggplant (in pork sauce?) and three pot chicken were good but very oily. All that for $65… in this economy that’s a steal. 10/10 would recommend.“
“One of my friend celebrated her birthday and this is her blowout celebration. Everybody got their own version, I got the Lamb Hot Pot, my wife got Japanese Miso, the celebrant got All Vegetarian, a couple shared Curry Beef, the celebrants husband got Beef Sacha and our last friend got Seafood Lobster Pot. The serving is generous and very good tasting hot pot soups, lots of vegetables and condiments. Very good for a winter December dinner. Everybody enjoyed their dinner and had an excellent dinner experience. Will visit again given a chance.Vegetarian options: There is an All Vegetarian hot pot soup that every vegetarian would appreciate and enjoy.“
“Authentic Taiwanese meals and snacks. Quick and kind attentive service to explain about the different meals. People start lining up 15 minutes before opening, so u can have an idea how good it is! Delicious food!!! The production and retail place is located in an industrial area in Union City, hidden like a tiny hole in the wall, but very efficient, kind and patient service, reasonable price.“
“My cowoker had picked up the spicy chicken cutlet bento box from Orange Square for me last week and it was delicious! The spicy chicken was juicy, flavor and crunchy. I didn't care much for the sides besides the meatball, that was very tasty meatball. Portion was generous, I only ate half of it and was stuffed. I definitely want to try the other items next time.“
“So hard to say goodbye. My friend texted me on Sunday morning to the sad news that Little Dipper will be permanently closing their doors on Monday, January 9, 2024. Little Dipper has always been one of my favorite hotpot spots. I've been to all 3 of their locations Dublin, Cupertino as well as the original Fremont. I've been coming here for years with either friends and family and they have always treated us with the best service. Always top notch, friendly, patient and happy to help. My kids were younger then and they have never bothered to charge them even as they grew older. This restaurant was definitely about quality and service. With the news of their permanent closure I had to come in one last time. We came in at 7pm on their final day and put our name down. The restaurant was full and plenty of people were waiting to be seated. The server said he doesn't know how people knew but the past 2 weeks were 3x's busier. Word of mouth definitely spread and people had to come in to say their goodbyes. Items on the menu were already crossed out and have been out of stock for the past couple of days. We still decided to wait. We waited about 1.5 hours and were the last group of the night. We asked them to just bring out anything and everything they had left in the kitchen which were mainly veggies and a few seafood items like imitation crab and shrimp. I wished I was able to have a final full on fixings meal at Little Dipper but just being there one last time just made it bittersweet. Richard was giving out brand new Little Dipper plates and cups and people were taking them by the boxes. You can see the sense of happiness and relief him and his workers had as the night ended. He even gave us our meals on the house as well as the generous amount of sake bottles we had. I wish him and his staff the very best and hope to see them in the future! Possibly "Whatever Nom Nom" will open up (Little Dipper opened a ghost kitchen called Whatever Nom Nom - follow on insta: @whatever.nomnom), but whatever it'll be we'll be there to support!“
“Cafeteria style dining experience, have to order food at the front and they’ll bring it to you. The porridge is unlimited and overall pretty good. For the price, I felt this place had high value! For the food, we really liked the fried egg, the tofu strings and basically all the vegetarian dishes were really delicious.“
“Best Taiwanese food in the Bay Area! My husband and I eat here every week because there are so many choices and they are all authentically delicious. I gathered my 9 foodie friends, including my husband, when I saw their Chinese New Year banquet menu. The ten of us sat at their brand new big round table, we stuffed ourselves with amazing traditional Taiwanese banquet gourmets, (totally different from the regular menu.) We also had boxes of leftovers for another meal. $600, 12 dishes, more than enough for 10 people; it equates to $5 per dish per person! After 10.75% tax and 20% tips, it's still less than $6.54 per dish per person! Plenty of food for 12 (or more if you're watching your weight. ) We ate 12 incredible dishes (see menu and food photos,) and we were 10 happily stuffed foodies wanting to do this again. The proprietor said to please give them at least two weeks notice for them to make a new banquet menu and buy the fresh ingredients anytime we want to taste another special meal. They are ready now for you to make a reservation and come enjoy the wonderful Chinese New Year banquet meal. Happy Eating!“
“We had the classic beef noodle soup. The broth was really good in the spicy version and slightly watery in the non spicy version. Hand made noodles were chewy and the sliced braised beef shank was really flavorful. The beef shank had just a small amount of fat but tasted good.“
“We enjoyed a delicious lunch last Saturday. The combo special was $15.99 and included salad, an appetizer, ramen and beverage. Our California Rolls were fresh and delicious. The ramen soup was fragrant, generous and filling. The green tea was delicate and flavorful. We savored every bite, every sip. Just a perfectly tasty meal at an excellent value. We will be back!“
“Delicious spicy food! Came here to celebrate a family friend's birthday so we reserved a room in the back. It comes with a karaoke machine. The host of our party ordered a gigantic spread of items from the menu. I'd say I enjoyed 80% of the food ordered. Everything was fragrant and flavorful. The boss came into our room to wish our family friend happy birthday and gave us a free red bean soup dessert and a huge free bowl of noodle soup. Very kind of her!“
“Get the grilled Gi Pie - we get it every time now. We’ve become regulars. Tea is standard - good for the price, and if you don’t need boba. Calamari is really good. Good care. Variety of vegetables. Can order through their website for pick up. Friendly and nice staff. All around good.“
“Business is booming and customers are coming like clouds. A great and very clean restaurant for customers to buy authentic and delicious Taiwanese Street Food. A nice manager leads her great teammates to prepare high quality Taiwanese Street Food and provides every and each customers with excellent services. I love their savory rice puddings, rice dumplings, steamed stuffed buns, Taiwanese meatballs, and taro cakes.“
“Great food. Affordable. Taiwanese Spicy broth is VERY spicy even from average South Asian/Indian standard, but really REALLY good. Worth the burn!Almost no vegetarian option. Veggie hot pot is not very good, but that is the case in almost all hot pot place.“
“Wow, this place!!! Get here immediately... first time trying this spot and I am impressed. Polite and fast service, fresh presentation of a wide variety of delicious and authentic taiwanese dishes.I got a 4 item plate with porridge, and couldnt resist ordering an extra platter to go for dinner because of all the yummy choices... very hard to choose only 4!! The porridge came with big chunks of soft sweet potatoes too... what a genius healthy addition. Loved it all! There were meat varieties, along with lots of veggie and non meat protein options. The place was neat and clean and bright. Already sent this spot to my best friend and my sister and looking forward to coming back here for sure. Highly recommended for an irresistible culinary experience.“
“Spicy beef noodle with tripe - it's not that spicy but enjoyable. The soup is very flavorful and the thick noodle has a bit of texture if you like al dente texture. Tripe and beef is very tender.Noodle with tripe - tender tripe, soup is flavorful, the thin noodle is soft but not soggy. I like the soft noodle even I usually like al dente.Pan fried bun - very crispy, not too oily. Good amount of meat and veggies inside but unlike Shanghainese pan fried bun, it's got no soup inside. Still, taste pretty good. For a bowl of noodle soup, I think this is a great place.“
“We love coming to have a drink, eat a snack, and play some board games. Very chill atmosphere, and a great selection of teas and toppings. The last time we were by, we had a Thai iced tea, a jasmine milk tea, and a mango milk tea with extra boba. All three were delicious and were severed quickly.“
“Great smoothies and the best spiciest popcorn chicken out there. Idk how many times I've gotten a popcorn chicken level 5 with a smoothie. I think it has to be close to 50 times by now. I might be addicted but it's just super good. The spicy level 5 is really perfect for me and it's actually spicy. I always come back here. Also if you come here frequently you can get the snack pass app and you can get a free boba or popcorn chicken when you get enough points. I think about 10 and 25 points respectively. Each order is one point and friends can also give you points. I will keep coming back here after school it's just too good.Parking: lots of parking“
