“10/10 – Hidden Gem with the Best Ribeye in Town! I’d been hearing rave reviews about the steak at China Cuisine, so I finally decided to check it out with my date. From the moment we walked in, the owner greeted us warmly and told us to sit anywhere – super welcoming and friendly right off the bat. The place has that classic Chinese restaurant vibe: nothing overly fancy, but cozy with an old-school diner feel that makes it comfortable and nostalgic. I mentioned I was there for the famous steak, and the owner recommended the ribeye without hesitation. I went with that, and had my date order one of the Chinese combination plates (can’t remember the exact name, but it was a solid mix of favorites). The food absolutely lived up to the hype – the ribeye was perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful, and the combination plate was spot-on delicious. Portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh. But what really stood out was the hospitality; the owner was fantastic to chat with, making the whole experience feel personal and fun. Overall, an easy 10 out of 10 for me. China Cuisine is a must-try if you’re in Shafter – great food, awesome service, and that ribeye alone is worth the visit. We’ll definitely be back soon!“
