“our friends told us about the Golden Bowl Chinese Restaurant in Waterdord CA. it was a quick 11 mile drive from our home in Modesto CA. We were greeted when we walked in and seated at a booth. Our server and his assistant were very friendly. We started off with 2 egg rolls. They were hot and the dipping sauce was really good. I had the Garlic Chicken with steamed rice. My wife had the Szechwan Chicken with steamed rice. I was impressed with my garlic chicken, it had really good flavor and was a large portion. It reminded me of David Wongs China Gate in Modesto. so if you are in the Waterford area and craving Chinese food check out the Golden Bowl. The parking may be tight as there are a few businesses in this small strip mall.“

“We ate here with our toddler on the way back from Yosemite. They serve healthy authentic Hong Kong style food that we all loved. Even my little picky 21 month old baby was forking down tofu and fish by herself. The organic passion fruit tea was also very special. They’re flexible with substitutions and we felt very welcomed here. Highly recommend!“

“This is a great spot. Extremely generous portions - $13.95 for the garlic chicken and steamed rice lunch plate (with a bowl of egg drop soup), enough to feed 2 generously! The chow mein is absolutely delicious too, with generous portions of meat and excellent wok hei flavor. This spot is a gem. “We ordered a large variety of vegetarian dishes from China House in Oakdale, and overall we had a really enjoyable experience. It’s great to have a Chinese restaurant where there are plenty of vegetarian options to choose from, especially when ordering for a larger group.

We tried several different dishes, and the vegetable preparations were flavorful, fresh, and nicely seasoned. The variety was probably the best part of our order — we had different styles of noodles, rice, vegetables, and appetizers, so there was something for everyone. The portions were also quite generous, which made the order feel like good value when ordering multiple items.

“Always delicious with hands-on personal service from the owners and (waiters) helpers. She is a lovely lady who helps you select entrees with detailed explanations of the different ingredients in each one of menu items listed. You can spice-up or spice-down according to your tastes buds.. Totally budget friendly. My husband and I order special lunches that are loaded comes with soup and appetizers Eggrolls and cream cheese wontons. Costs up to $28 tip included…You get a lot of food on the platter plate. I always take most of mine home. One lunch makes 3-meals for me..“

“I’m honestly surprised that I have not yet given this restaurant review. I moved to Ceres from the Bay Area five years ago and discovered it during Covid. It’s a small family owned restaurant with a variety of Asian style dishes, which include both Japanese and Chinese food we typically get the sushi or the rolls and everything and every time we’ve ever ordered they have been spectacularly delicious. The fish is very very fresh and each roll is unique. The sashimi is top-notch fresh seafood, and very generous cuts of sashimi. We love this restaurant. It’s nice and quite a place where local families can enjoy and relax. My kids and I truly enjoy this restaurant and the service is always very friendly and welcoming.“

“We have been going here for almost 30 years, and still love the food and the service. If you haven't tried these yet you should: Mongolian Beef, shrimp & Lobster Sauce, their pork fried rice and chicken chow mein, egg rolls, schezwan chicken, chicken in foil, orange chicken, and their hot and sour soup with extra green onions. Oh, their won ton soup is good too. We always get their ice tea with our meal too, it is just a must. I know why, but we just have to have it with our meal. “Sonora location. Tried when first opened and few weeks ago. It was clean (new) and great service. Re-visited yesterday and totally the opposite! Counter was dirty, all food was low. It was 4 o’clock and not busy. The cook, other gentleman and waitress was very unprofessional and unsanitary! The cook, yes while wearing gloves, continued to touch dirty services and our food. At one point he had his cell phone in his hand looking at it while cooking our food. Phone back in dirty pocket, touching his hair then back to cooking our food! The conversation between the three of them were load and unprofessional. I was so ready to leave! Definitely won’t be returning anytime soon.“

“We dined here on a Tuesday night as the only customer dining in the restaurant. They had
multiple to go orders while were there, as I believe this is the norm for earlier in the week. We have dined here on fri and sat and there are more dine in patrons. The tables are set up nice with cloth napkins and condiments on each one. We ordered the combo plates which arrived steaming hot and tasty, with plenty of leftovers for the next day. My only concern was the gung pow chicken had more vegetables and peanuts than chicken. The chicken was cut up very small and difficult to find among the veggies. My husbands sweet and sour pork were large enough pieces that he asked for a knife to cut it bite size.This is our favorite Chinese restaurant, however I will order another protein next time.“

“Panda is always a great go to. This panda express is very clean, the employees are happy to help you and The food is always fresh. I'm always very satisfied with this establishment. A big plus is that is has a drive thru which is a busy mammas saving grace at time.“
