“A truly affordable hidden eatery. It's not well-known, but the taste is really good and the service is good. They also serve glutinous rice balls after the meal, which is highly recommended!
Kid-friendliness: Shanghai has a sweet taste and not many spicy dishes, so it is suitable for children.“

“We had a 10-people reunion gathering and it was a perfect excuse for us to enjoy this authentic and delicious Shanghainese restaurant.
All of the dishes we ordered were perfectly made, and we enjoyed everything (there were a couple of vegetarians in the group so we ordered 3 vegetable dishes which was great.
The overwhelming favorites were: the special Grilled beef short ribs ($48 so count it as 2 dishes), celery with Lily, and SH braised pork.
The service was prompt, but we got the sense they didn’t prefer us to stay too long and catch up after we were done with our meal.“

“This location is in Arcadia next to 99 Ranch Market. Parking is plentiful in the parking lot. Sunright is also next door.
I think this is a good place to get Shanghainese food. There are no frills. If you pay cash, you get a discount. I was here for dinner, and they ran out of some items already!
I ended up getting a noodle soup, which was so delicious on a cold night. The black sesame mochi roll was actually really delectable. I recommend sharing this because it gets carb-y. There is one restroom in the back.

“Excellent food. Service was quick too. They also have a wall of famous people that have visited this restaurant at one point. The heavy hitters are: Black Pepper Steak Cubes and Shanghailander Pan Fried Buns. The veggies were delicious too and so were the fish wrapped in some crunchy green stuff. They serve everything promptly and presentation is 10/10 too. There was no wait time on a Saturday night (they did ask us to leave like 5 mins after we had paid, but they are justified to do so, since another party was coming in). There is also parking in the back.“

“If you're a fan of authentic dumpling houses and bold flavors, this spot is a must-visit! 👍😋💯 It’s a small, unassuming hole-in-the-wall, but don’t let the size fool you the food is phenomenal. 🍜🤤👏 We ordered a variety of dishes, and each one delivered big on taste. 🥟🥢😋
I had the spicy fried rice (pro tip: it comes with chicken, even though it doesn’t say so on the menu). 🔥🌶️🍚 The flavor from the hot chili oil and black salted beans was out of this world. 🌎🌟✨ We also enjoyed the xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), which were perfectly done. 💯😋👍
What really surprised me was the sautéed cabbage with Thai chili peppers so simple, yet packed with incredible flavor. 🥬🌶️🔥 The beef soup was hearty, and the spicy chicken dish with Sichuan and chili peppers brought the heat in all the right ways. 🍲🐔🌶️

“Beef soup was very good, nailed the mala without making it too spicy for the kid in the group. Stir fry chicken noodles were good but 75% cabbage. Fried rice was great but the pork chop was only OK, very small and fatty. Beef rolls also not great, they were very dry.“

“A very few that are still left as a true authentic shanghanes style restaurant in southern california. The 2 are absolutely wonderful. What the place in a very depressed location? I wish the restaurant are in a better setting, but the food is the best“

Not what I expected. It looks nice and crispy from its appearance, but it has a soggy, thick bun inside and meat that is kind of “dry” because all the juices have soaked into the bun.

Crispy skin, tasty inside, but other stores like Noodle Street are better.

Parking is kind of hard to find. Most of them belong to Wells Fargo Bank and Bank of America customers only.“

“Mama Lu's Dumpling House in the City of Industry is the perfect place for some delicious Chinese and Taiwanese cuisine, and it's easy to see why. The restaurant has a lively, family-friendly atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. My recent visit was a perfect example of their reputation for serving up generous portions of quality food. My family loves this place for their delicious yet super cheap eats!
A classic is their Juicy Pork Dumplings and Soup-filled Shu Mai; these dumplings are the stars of the show, living up to their name with a flavorful broth and tender filling. For something with a kick, the Spicy Wontons were a definite highlight, with a rich, aromatic sauce that had the perfect amount of heat.
The main courses were equally impressive. The Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice was a savory and well-balanced dish, while the Salt and Pepper Tofu Fish had a wonderfully crispy exterior and a soft, delicate inside. They were having a special where this dish was only $9.99!! The Beef Wrap was amazing, a delicious green onion pancake filled with tender beef and fresh veggies and loads of sauce! For greens, we chose their Sautéed Baby Bok Choy, a simple but perfectly prepared vegetable dish that provided a nice, fresh contrast to the other rich flavors.
The service was prompt and attentive, and our food arrived quickly. Mama Lu's lives up to its reputation for serving authentic, delicious food that is perfect for a group. I can't wait to go back and try more of their extensive menu.“

I had the opportunity to enjoy this incredible food while in California for just a couple of days, and I couldn't resist going back for more. It was such a delight to experience that culinary bliss two days in a row!“
