“One of my favorite Shanghainese restaurants! It is kind of a hole in the wall place. No frills, waiters speak little English, but are helpful enough.
What I always get is the braised pig knuckle in brown sauce. Deep fried, then braised for hours. It is the best! The meat is so tender it falls off the bone with a fork. It’s served with spinach or bokchoy, a big dish that can feed a family of four just by itself!
I also like their seaweed fish and duck stuffed with sticky rice (requires advanced reservation).
Shanghai Bamboo house delivers on price and unique southern Chinese flavors. I highly recommend it if you’re a fan of Shanghainese cuisine.“

“A truly affordable hidden eatery. It's not well-known, but the taste is really good and the service is good. They also serve glutinous rice balls after the meal, which is highly recommended!
Kid-friendliness: Shanghai has a sweet taste and not many spicy dishes, so it is suitable for children.“

“I just don’t get it. This place should have a rating close to 5.0/5.0. The dishes are so delicious and well prepared. This is the best restaurant during our 4 day trip in LA. Btw we stayed at Anaheim. And the restaurants rated 4.5/5.0 in Ervin are nowhere near the level of this one.“

“This location is in Arcadia next to 99 Ranch Market. Parking is plentiful in the parking lot. Sunright is also next door.
I think this is a good place to get Shanghainese food. There are no frills. If you pay cash, you get a discount. I was here for dinner, and they ran out of some items already!
I ended up getting a noodle soup, which was so delicious on a cold night. The black sesame mochi roll was actually really delectable. I recommend sharing this because it gets carb-y. There is one restroom in the back.
Credit card is accepted.“

“11/2/2024 - Had a banquet menu lunchoen at an elegant private room. Overall, each dish is delicious while the Pan-fried buns (生煎包) is average (2 or 3 stars) because the meats and taste is not good, or lacks umami (缺乏鲜味), although the appearance is very good.
This is either #1 Shanghai restaurant or one of the top 2 in the County of Los Angeles with an authentic Chinese Cuisine. On the other hand, exchanging a plate only took place once during a 12-course banquet period, which is below an upscale dining restaurant standard.“

“One of the most authentic Chinese dumpling places. My favorite dish is an appetizer, cucumber with garlic.
Parking: We always go a little early or a little late for lunch/dinner, so parking is always available.
Wheelchair accessibility: Dine in area is wheel accessible, but the rest room, round the back, isn't.“

“Today I ordered fried stinky tofu, stir-fried tofu, and shrimp meat in red oil.
I originally came in after seeing fried stinky tofu~
But stinky tofu is not very smelly~
It tastes better, not crispy on the outside and soft on the inside as I imagined~
I'm a little disappointed~
Surprisingly, the shrimp meat in red oil is super delicious~?
There is a whole shrimp wrapped inside~❤️
And the sauce is very delicious~???
Finally, stir and stir~
The salad is delicious~
But the taste is a bit salty, so it’s not suitable to eat alone!
It is recommended to pair it with rice or noodles~
Finally, I want to give a big thumbs up to the waitress! ??
Halfway through the meal, he would ask if he needed more water or something like that~
If you need a recommendation from my eldest sister, she will share it enthusiastically~“

“It's very delicious. This time, I bought the special peach shrimp and Shanghai red yakiniku as takeout and had them at home. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and had a perfect taste and texture. On the other hand, the Shanghai red yakiniku had a wonderfully balanced seasoning that allowed you to enjoy the taste and aroma of the ingredients, despite its apparent dark color. Next time, I would like to sit down and enjoy it.“

“This restaurant is always a go to for family dinners. You can get so much food for all really great price. They have a LOT of items on their menu as well. We come here for their spicy wontons and soup dumplings. Their honey garlic pork chop is super flavorful as well. Service was really friendly. The staff was always checking in on us.“

“Grizzly Multiplayer E Dumpling Shop! mi̍h-kiāⁿ Good food, but love takes a long time. Guán di long weekend comes ē, there are hundreds of people in the queue.
The atmosphere is khì-hun bē bad, and it feels like it focuses on the Din Tai Fung alternative market.“
