“Food was delicious, and service was great and friendly. Ordered scallion pancake, short ribs and soup dumplings it was plenty of food.“

“The restaurant looks dated and has odd decor. It looked like it used to be an Irish pub with the poker hanging Tiffany lights and taken over by the current Chinese restaurant. The bathroom is oddly located outside the restaurant. Decor aside, the waitress there (the only waitress working dinner, kudos to her!) was friendly and efficient. She was overwhelmed by the number of table demanding her attention. Lots of regular customers arrived after we got there. We were the first to arrive and food arrived quickly. Everything tasted great. Portions were generous. Sizzling beef plate was my favorite. The price was reasonable given the quality and portion. We will return!“

“Good food. Good service. Prices are reasonable.
Parking: It shares lots with other stores. Sometimes it could be a little bit difficult to find a spot.
Wheelchair accessibility: Go through the back door.“

“One of my favorite Shanghainese restaurants! It is kind of a hole in the wall place. No frills, waiters speak little English, but are helpful enough.
What I always get is the braised pig knuckle in brown sauce. Deep fried, then braised for hours. It is the best! The meat is so tender it falls off the bone with a fork. It’s served with spinach or bokchoy, a big dish that can feed a family of four just by itself!
I also like their seaweed fish and duck stuffed with sticky rice (requires advanced reservation).
Shanghai Bamboo house delivers on price and unique southern Chinese flavors. I highly recommend it if you’re a fan of Shanghainese cuisine.“
“Wow! Meat pies from heaven in a mini- mall off N Garfield Avenue. Everything here is great. Not a sit down place as such, since it's really small and they only have a few tables, but I'm sure you could eat in if you wanted to (they have a short menu) - but it's not really a restaurant atmosphere - more of a small hole in the wall family run takeout, with Grandpa making dumplings by hand at a table when I was there. There seems to be very little English spoken here. Very delicious and authentic - I'll be back!“

“Thought it would just be a quick bite of Shanghai Pork Ribs Glutinous Rice Cakes, but flipping through the menu felt like a trip back to Shanghai—each dish a deep-rooted memory!Even so, we went all out and ordered a bunch of dishes. Each one was authentically Shanghai, and I especially recommend the Wine Chicken. Honestly, wanted to try everything on the menu. The Pork Ribs Glutinous Rice Cakes, originally the main attraction, took a back seat. Auntie even brought spicy soy sauce and hot chili powder from Shanghai—selling the sauce for $6 a bottle. The chili powder isn't for sale, but she'll give it to you. Added a new item to the wishlist: Conquer their entire menu!“

“11/2/2024 - Had a banquet menu lunchoen at an elegant private room. Overall, each dish is delicious while the Pan-fried buns (生煎包) is average (2 or 3 stars) because the meats and taste is not good, or lacks umami (缺乏鲜味), although the appearance is very good.
This is either #1 Shanghai restaurant or one of the top 2 in the County of Los Angeles with an authentic Chinese Cuisine. On the other hand, exchanging a plate only took place once during a 12-course banquet period, which is below an upscale dining restaurant standard.“

“I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years with my family. Amazing, very authentic Shanghainese food (the chef grew up in changning qu!) with incredible staff all around. Hard to pick a favorite dish, but you’d be best off ordering the regional dishes over something more generic! My personal favorites are the 葱烤鲤鱼, 上海小排骨 and the 上海炒年糕 :)“

“Our family loves Mama Lu's Dumpling House! We love the joicy pork dumplings, the green onion pancakes, the noodles, and the green beans. The food is served quickly, is hot and very tasty. The service is always great...quick and friendly.“

“Today I ordered fried stinky tofu, stir-fried tofu, and shrimp meat in red oil.
I originally came in after seeing fried stinky tofu~
But stinky tofu is not very smelly~
It tastes better, not crispy on the outside and soft on the inside as I imagined~
I'm a little disappointed~
Surprisingly, the shrimp meat in red oil is super delicious~?
There is a whole shrimp wrapped inside~❤️
And the sauce is very delicious~???
Finally, stir and stir~
The salad is delicious~
But the taste is a bit salty, so it’s not suitable to eat alone!
It is recommended to pair it with rice or noodles~
Finally, I want to give a big thumbs up to the waitress! ??
Halfway through the meal, he would ask if he needed more water or something like that~
If you need a recommendation from my eldest sister, she will share it enthusiastically~“

“One of the most authentic Chinese dumpling places. My favorite dish is an appetizer, cucumber with garlic.
Parking: We always go a little early or a little late for lunch/dinner, so parking is always available.
Wheelchair accessibility: Dine in area is wheel accessible, but the rest room, round the back, isn't.“

“It's hard to find authentic Shanghai cuisine in the Los Angeles area, but after tasting it today, I found there is no difference with what I had in Shanghai. In fact, the quality of the ingredients might even better that of Shanghai, making the flavors even more delicious. I also really like the decor here and the service staff, which all strongly reflect the essence of Shanghai.-腔调!“

“This is my favorite Xiao Long Bao that I have ever eaten in the United States. I must come here every time I come to LA. The shredded pork noodles with pickled vegetables also taste good. The noodle soup is a little sweet. Shanghainese love it, but my friends from other places who are with me don’t seem to like it too much.“

“Tried out this little place for dinner and it wasn’t too busy and we were able to be seated right away. This spot is super low key casual and feels like eating at your aunt’s home (especially the door to the second dining area). The servers were kind enough to bring us water with large cups so you don’t have to keep pouring/filling.
FOOD: We ordered the Braised Pork Rice dish with peppers and Braised Beef Noodles soup. I will say that the flavors were not as salty as other places I’ve had, but flavors were not as strong as I’d have liked.
- The beef chunks in the noodle soup were on the tough side but the noodles were soft and soup was pretty tasty.
- The pork cubes with rice was pretty tasty as well. The dish came with a small bowl of soup.
Parking: The lot on site is shared with other establishments so during rush hour it can get pretty packed. But there is an underground parking lot where more spaces can be found.“
