I grew up going to China G and recently moved back to the area after 10years away. It was as good as I remembered it being! Everywhere else I’ve always struggled to find a Chinese restaurant that had as much flavor. So excited to have this back in my neighborhood! My go to is scallion pancakes (extra sauce!) and pan fried noodles.
We've been going to China Gourmet for years, and we made a terrible mistake of trying a different chinese place last week. The grass was already green on this side of the hill, I don't know what we were thinking, perhaps we'd become complacent with China Gourmet setting the bar. So I got Orange Chicken and some fried rice. Surprisingly, the sweet orange sauce was not as sweet as I'd usually prefer. Maybe I am used to sugary sauce. So, this was a pleasant suprise.
The Chicken was crunchy and battered well. The fried rice is almost there to perfection but must be missing something.

China Gourmet is a cash only place. The quality has definitely gone up. It is clean, well run, and the owner is a kind person. The service is great and fast, friendly and quick. The food is super solid, with great portions. The smell was incredible. People love the coconut curry chicken dish, which is so yummy. Other favorites include Hot and Sour Soup, Chow Fun mixed (no pork), and sesame chicken. For vegetarians or tofu lovers, the sesame tofu is amazing, with texture and flavor on point. However, some nights the food tastes rushed. Vegetables can be hard and undercooked, and the coconut curry sauce can be bland. The pork fried rice may lack flavor, with low-quality pork. The seaweed soup and pad Thai are pretty good. On a positive note, delivery orders are processed really fast. The restaurant is open on Christmas Day. It is busy but handles it smoothly. There is lotsa parking.
