“Be aware they are now charging a “service charge”. It’s was not noted on the menu nor did the server inform us of the charge. The only reason I found out is I requested a printed receipt. The receipt recommended an additional tip be between 2-7% on top of the charge. Yet when I paid the machine prompted an additional 15 or 18% tip so I tipped 18 even tho our service was bad cuz I use to be a server. The unfortunate part is I didn’t look at the receipt for over a week after I visited. I’m very disappointed that I’m being charged a “service fee” and at no time was it ever brought to my attention that this is a new thing.“

“Have visited several times before. Last Thursday we tried your lunch for the first time. I had biscuits & gravy with spicy sausage and eggs over, huge and delicious. My wife ordered the veggie burger. Her salad was brought out, then 5 minutes later was advised they were out of it! She re-ordered the pot roast, but the brocolli was over cooked and the carrots were dry. Other than that, was good. There was a problem at check out with the purchase of gift cards, but was shortly resolved. We look forward to visiting again in the New Year, but only for breakfast or dinner.“

“Jamie - it’s clear that everyone appreciates her, customers and coworkers alike. She’s friendly, even-keeled, and at ease, even in a rush. She’s wonderful and attentive. A clear multitasker, serving and behind the bar. I’d come back just for her level of service but the food is not to be ignored either. Definitely became one of my favorite brunch spots in the area, easily. Food came out fast, hot, and delicious. I sat in a seat for way too long and wasn’t bothered or pushed out. “Love the cozy, airy vibe here; the super friendly and knowledgeable staff; and the creative, flavorful dishes. The pricing is very reasonable, too.

The chicken liver toast ($10) is not only gorgeous, but also delicious and full of different textures. Their Texas toast is made with high-quality heirloom grains, which I also thought was cool.

Popcorn chicken ($10) was fantastic! Juicy inside, perfectly crispy on the outside, but not too crunchy or overbreaded. Highly recommend any of their fried chicken dishes after having that!

The sashimi platter was beautiful and tasted great, but at $26, I’d honestly pass on this next time and get sashimi at a sushi spot.

The dry-aged half duck was sooooooo good! Perfectly cooked and so much flavor, even in the purple lettuce leaves on the side (not sure exactly what they were). It’s the most expensive main at $78, but considering the quality and that it is easily big enough for two, I’d say that’s reasonable. I’d love to try the pork chop char siu next time ($65) — and their wagyu short rib is only $58 (all these are meant to be for two people).“

“What’s not to love? Located right across from the ballpark, The Original is easy to access, bright and welcoming. Spacious with seating options for larger groups, and coat racks next to each booth so a group of 4 can fit more comfortably. They have all the breakfast classics you’re looking for, plus a few you didn’t know you were craving. Portions are more than generous, so we both had food to take home and enjoy. The staff is awesome as well. Looking forward to coming back!“

Imagine my surprise when I entered the wine bar at Satchel’s with a group of friends to be seated for a wedding luncheon that began with the first of seven tasting courses of food that was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! Andrew, the chef/owner, is not only innovative with ingredients, but he and his staff really care about their customers’ pleasure and comfort. If I am ever able to return to the Denver area again, Satchel’s will be my first go-to destination. The luncheon was 1st class all the way.“
