“This restaurant had amazing Colombian food! Their empanadas are amazing! I came with my friend who is from Colombia and she said this place was authentic to what she has in Colombia! The service was amazing, they were very thoughtful and considerate. I also accidentally left my ring in the bathroom and came back the next day to find it, and they had it! I am a person who is constantly losing stuff, and at most places I never find my lost item, so I was very grateful that they had found it! I am very happy with their service and food and hope to come back often!Parking: The front street is hard to park on, I would consider parking back in the neighborhood. The neighborhood behind it is pretty nice, and has a lot of free street parking!“
“I feel like this place was a pretty good spot to eat. Went there randomly, and I was pleasantly surprised.Being on Colfax I had fairly low expectations so my sights weren't set terribly high. Decent decor but it was very dark and the employees didn't look thrilled to see someone walk in.After being seated (which only took 1 minute) they helped us out quickly and we got our order placed.We received our empenadas and tequeños. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the chicken empanadas with whatever the yellow dipping sauce is called. The beef was pretty dry and low in flavor so don't bother with those.The tequeños were BOMB. I've had great ones before, but whatever sweet pineapple-ish salsa? They have for them makes them into something else.The food came out and everything had good temp/flavor. The chorizo link is good. The churrasco was decent but coulda used something.Overall it was good, maybe a little high on price with some things ??♂️. Either way if you're in the area and want something different it's not a bad choice.“
“Excellent place, I loved the Alejo's Criolla burger, it is my favorite, and I can order delivery if I don't want to leave the house or I can go there and eat at one of their tables. I love the latter since it is not common for a food truck to have options for dining right there. Very grateful also for the attention of the lady in answering all my questions about the menu. Definitely my favorite place.“
“The first time I heard of this place was as a food truck at Stampede. The empanada was delicious. They make it as you order so it's hot. Inside the empanada was beef with other vegetables but everything was spiced and seasoned really well. Each bite of the empanada was super delicious. Everyone was super friendly and they work hard to get your order out to you as quick as possible. Just so yummy. I need to come back and try the Cubano.“
“Very good, family-owned small restaurant! The environment is welcoming and cozy, and the service is always really good. The food is phenomenal. I always start my meal off with a mora (blackberry) juice con leche. They have a ton of flavors to pick from. From there, I get my main dish which is usually the Calentao special (chicken, rice, avocado, beans, and egg), but if I can't decide on what to get the La Chiva Picada is always a safe bet since it's like a charcuterie board/ sampler with all of their best menu items. They have these boards for a single person, or for two (a group of 4 could easily share this). Keep in mind there is an automatic service fee of 18% included on each bill. I didn't realize this for the first few times I went and tipped ~40% lol. even with a ridiculous tip, it's still so worth it and I'm sure the workers appreciate the love. Last thing i will note, is parking is free and usually pretty easy to find. Make sure to stop by and get some amazing columbian food! Support local businesses“
