My boyfriend and I stayed in La Veta for 4 days and went to Ryus twice. Each time we got a nice selection of pastries and desserts. The chocolate croissants are amazing! My boyfriend loved the cinnamon rolls, and the fruit and cheese danishes were awesome. Even the sugar cookies (shaped like polar bears) were great! I only wish they would have been open all 4 days we were there. Whenever we come back to this small town, Ryus will definitely be a stop!
The best little bakery in Huerfano County! La Veta is very blessed to have this little gem in a small S. Colorado community. They catered my surprise 60th birthday and did a spectacular job! Everything they make is Mmm Mmm good!

Friends and I were staying in a cabin in Cuchara and discovered this bakery in nearby La Veta. Everything was delicious that we tried. One day we stopped for cinnamon rolls (flavorful with cinnamon icing) and coffee. Next we had lunch sandwiches which were all served on perfect baguettes (fresh, tender crisp crust).
