“My favorite takeout place in the area. Moved away to DC a few years ago and always request it when I'm back in town - there's nothing comparable where I live! Very friendly & helpful service, fair prices, clean kitchen. My personal recommendations are any of their chicken dishes (sesame & general tsaos are the best i think) and any of their fried rice options. their lo mein is also excellent, with a good ratio of noodle and meat; you get a free egg roll with every meal (which is fine, nothing special), and a donut (which i really enjoy). I also really appreciate the size of their portions - always leftovers for the next day with anything I order. moon star gets my highest recommendation for takeout in the danbury area.“

“Many Chinese take out places have declined in the Danbury/Brewster area, but Moon Star has remained consistent in turning out great food!
Whenever I call, the nice woman who answers is friendly, calls me by name, and demonstrates her appreciation for my business.
Yesterday afternoon, 2/13/25, I placed a big order: Wonton soup, pork fried rice, bbq spare ribs, steamed dumplings sesame chicken, and chicken with broccoli. Everything was delicious, cooked freshly, and portions were generous. Some places cut corners by giving less chicken, but Moon Star puts plenty of chicken in the meals.
I was allowed to take a 2-liter bottle of soda for free, and to our surprise, there was a HUGE portion of freshly-made fried dough (my wife's favorite!)

“We stopped in here for takeout while on the way home. Very unassuming from the outside. The staff was friendly and the food was ready in about 10 minutes as promised. Not as expensive for combination plates as sone other places have been recently.Overall the food was good. The dumplings were amazing. I would go back just for them. I also liked how the chicken was cut into smaller pieces for the General Tso. It allows for more of the sauce to seep into the chicken. Will definitely be getting food here again.“

“I ordered the pork fried rice and boneless pork ribs and they were both very good, only waited about 10 minutes for them to make my order, the service was great and polite, place was very clean with a couple of tables for anyone who wanted to eat in.“

“i have doordashed this place a few times. i cant speak on the physical location, however i can say the food is some of, if not, the best chinese food in the area. Pork fried riced is very good, chicken always slaps. and the low mein is excellent!!“

“Ordered togo, but ate while waiting for my ride. The food was fresh and delicious. Lots of flavor and not too greasy. Got chicken and brocolli in brown sauce, and it was generously coated.

The people were very nice and happy to make accommodations. The place is has tables to sit and eat. Their little decorations are cute.

“This downtown Chinese restaurant has a quick inexpensive buffet or you can order from the take out menu. We have had both while we visited Danbury, CT. The buffet is fresh and we enjoyed the chicken and broccoli, the veggie lo mein, and the string beans. It is an all you can eat buffet for a flat fee. We ordered won ton soup for lunch one day. A pint of soup contained four big wontons in a tasty broth. Dark and kind of dreary interior, but just sit by the windows so if it bothers you.“

When i was picking it up, they were super fast with the food and was still incredibly hot! “My favorite Chinese spot as a kid. Right ul the street from where I grew up. I had to make a trip back to update my core memory and add one to my kids! Cold sesame noodles are my go too and will continue to be the best from only this place.“

“We’ve been getting food here since I can remember, the nicest people, best Chinese food in Bethel and surrounding area in Connecticut! Huge massive menu, super fast, and extremely friendly. “Went for a meal to eat after a long day at work. Was looking for a simple, stomach filling place to eat for a decent price. This place was just that. The girl at the front who seems to be the daughter saw me and stood up to take my order. The food was ready in just a few minutes but they still tasted amazing. They're not world-changing, but you get what you pay for. I also had a nice conversation with the owner, making the space really comfortable. I've been to several Chinese takeout restaurants around states (I travel a lot), but this place gave me such a hearty experience I just had to rate it.“
