“Amai Sushi has the best quality fish and seafood in Brookfield! Amber, the owner is wonderful. She takes time to suggest and explain offerings. I recently had the pleasure of the 10 course Omekase. What a beautiful a scrumptious meal! A birthday treat from a dear friend. Definitely worth the splurge. Buttery sushi, delicious uni (sea urchin roe) and a small piece of highest quality Kobe beef. Great king crab and avocado appetizer and scallop hand roll. Caramel custard dessert. Delicious chilled plum wine. Worth the splurge!“

“We got a big takeout order for my daughter's birthday. She requested sushi. I ordered about 10 sushi rolls and pad Thai. The sushi rolls came in one big lidded tray, laid out so beautifully. Everything was delicious, not a speck went to waste. Completely delicious. We love this restaurant!“

“We’ve been going here for at least a decade, but this is our first time leaving a review. It’s an excellent restaurant — cozy and comfortable, with a great mix of Japanese dishes, including traditional sashimi and sushi, along with some fun and creative specialty rolls. They also have a menu of traditional Korean dishes, which are excellent.

Jay, the chef and owner, and his wife Jenny are wonderful hosts. They consistently turn out great food, and after all these years, this remains a local favorite. It’s BYOB, so grab a bottle of wine or some beer and come make yourself at home.

This time, we started with some gyoza and a kani salad, both of which were excellent. Then came five or six different specialty sushi rolls. The sushi is always fresh, delicious, and generous, with a great mix of traditional flavors and more creative combinations. There’s always so much to choose from that it’s hard to pick just a few rolls, and we always end up ordering more than we planned.

The Udon Bokkeum was the standout of the meal. It was absolutely delicious. The fresh vegetables and mushrooms were cooked perfectly, the noodles were thick and tender, and the beef was succulent and flavorful. Everything came together really well, with the tender beef and perfectly cooked vegetables mixed with the thick, chewy noodles. It was a fantastic dish and one we’ll definitely be ordering again.

After coming here for more than 10 years, we can honestly say the food and experience have remained consistently great. The food is always fresh, the portions are generous, and there’s a great variety of both Japanese and Korean dishes. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great Japanese and Korean dining experience. It’s one of our favorites, and we always look forward to coming back.“

“My friend and I had lunch today here. Yokohama Restaurant is wonderful. The food is delicious, the wait staff courteous and friendly, the prices are very reasonable and the restaurant is casual with nice background music. It is not a fancy place at all, but that didn't matter to us. We shared the steamed vegetable dumplings which were delicate and delicious, the fried calamities which was very crunchy with large pieces of squid and the best I've ever had. We each got a box lunch which is $15 and includes 3 shumai, 4 pieces of California roll with wasabi and pickled ginger, white rice and the main event - mine being the shrimp tempera included 2 huge shrimp and vegetables tempera. My friend had the chicken teriyaki box lunch and both were delicious. And somehow we decided to get dessert, and split the mango-raspberry sorbet which was lovely. We will definitely return to Yokohama!!!“

“I’ve been trying to come here for late lunch, and I couldn’t ever make it since they close at 2:30. So, I finally made it here today. The wonton soup was good, with a thin wonton wrap and a good amount of pork filling. And I had my usual Thai curry chicken, which left me satisfied and happy. It’s a husband-and-wife team, and they’re so nice.“

“You know when you go to a restaurant like chipotle or Taco Bell or any other chain restaurant and you try and eat vegetarian or vegan you end up paying the same amount as People people who are eating meat would pay?

These guys have a veggie plate for under five dollars. Veggies cost less, are easier to store and cook and are less impactful on the planet. These guys get five stars for understanding the assignment when it comes to vegetables….“
