DOWN. They have flavorful dishes, a variety of options for hosting big parties, and they have a lifelong customer in me. The food is really that good, and allergy friendly to boot. I love sushi and usually can’t eat much cuz other places use sesame oil in their prep- not this place. I highly recommend!

“This place is a cute mom and pop type of restaurant serving both japanese and korean cuisine. I personally got a bento box for takeout which came with 제육볶음 (spicy stir-fried pork) 잡채 ( japchae/sweet potato noodles) 김치 (kimchi), miso soup, salad, and rice. Everything in that bento was definitely made with love and care, extremely fresh and flavorful. Also the lady/ owner is super friendly, she even wished me luck for my trip to korea. Definitely check this place out if you’re in the area.“

I really prefer the airy and light peaceful interior here compared to other dingy and dark AYCE places. There’s nothing better than peacefully sipping hot green tea during lunchtime. “If you love great food, excellent service, and a trendy atmosphere, this restaurant is a must-visit. Our son, who’s a huge fan of noodles, insisted we try this place while we were in town, and it did not disappoint. The service was exceptional, truly going above and beyond.

To start, we ordered the KFC Bao buns and the red oil dumplings. The Bao buns were delightfully soft with crispy chicken, while the red oil dumplings were generously filled with meat and came with an excellent sauce. For the main course, our son enjoyed the Pho Bo Vien, which was said to be delicious, packed with plenty of meat and veggies.

The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, which added to the overall positive experience. “Sonobana is a standout among the myriad of sushi restaurants in the greater New Haven area. Not everyone can make it to New York or Boston for decent sushi restaurants. This is where Sonobana comes to the rescue. The interior is very tastefully decorated without the garish photos of sushi dishes or the marker board advertising specials. “My husband surprised me with a dinner gathering at Red Lotus. Immediately upon walking in we were greeted by two staff members and the owner Larry. Gary was our server who I must say was by far the best server we have ever had. Gary and Larry truly made us feel like we were the only ones there (they had a full house) the food was delicious we were a party of 8 and all had different plates none of us were disappointed with our food. The presentation of the plates were beautiful! Larry made sure to come to our table and assure we were satisfied with our food and service took time out to talk with us and build a relationship. “One of the Best Japanese Restaurants in Connecticut if you love Sushi and Sashimi. The Spider roll made with fried soft shell crab is to die for!! My wife had the Dinner Bento Box with the Bento Chicken and loved everything. The service was outstanding. The prices are very reasonable and the portions generous. The soup or salad that comes with the meal is very good. We go to the best rated restaurants in Connecticut and NY. and if they were to improve their ambiance/atmosphere which is a little plain and make the restaurant more romantic it would be a destination restaurant and one of the best anywhere.“
