“Even though it may look like an ordinary Chinese take-out, this is the kind of place where if you order 5 minutes before their posted closing time and they've already cleaned up their entire kitchen, washed every single wok and pan, and are completely ready to go home for the night...not only will they still make you absolutely whatever you want, but it will be the freshest and best tasting Chinese food you've ever had outside of mainland China. “Ask anyone in Bristol whether in person or on various social media pages, they’ll say Sun Fat Chinese is one of the best in the area. By the looks of it, at any given day..it’s always busy, so it’s by far the most popular Chinese restaurant in the area…I won’t say the best.
Quick Note - Pretty much all the Chinese restaurants in this area all charge the same and the meals are the same..look at the menu, select food, pay and wait for it. The ones up here also give you a choice of egg roll or soup to go with your lunch order..that’s not just here, but ALL of the restaurants here in the Bristol/Plainville area.
Food - I’ve been here on a couple of times and have tried various items from the pepper steak to the chicken and broccoli to the sesame chicken. It’s all your standard Chinese food restaurant..I don’t see where it is that far ahead of all the rest. Sesame Chicken was good…but not fantastic. You get a heaping portion of it but a ton of rice as well. The egg roll is sometimes soft, other times hard enough to go through a brick wall.
Parking - It’s in the strip mall next to Subway in the MarketEdge/Price Chopper on Farmington Ave/Route 6/72.
I’m giving it 4* total for a couple reasons…first being, no..I didn’t do a phone order..I never do on anything, it’s always as a walk-in. Got there at 2:55, went to order the lunch and was told “it ends at 3.”…I know, it’s not 3pm yet..I’m not one to argue so I said it is whatever and just give me the regular portion then…so because of that and the egg roll being rock hard, I’d give it on a 1-5…3.8-4.1“

“This is my go-to Chinese in Bristol. It's 5 minutes from my work and is a nice clean place that shows pride in ownership. The food is solid, not the best I've had, but no complaints. The woman working the counter, the owner, I assume, is a very, very nice lady. There are tables inside, but it's tight and mostly a takeaway spot.“

“We got takeout because they don’t deliver. This is our second time eating their food . my friend and I ordered boneless spareribs , crab Rangoon‘s and steamed shrimp with Chinese vegetables and spring roll , shrimp egg roll . Everything was excellent . there was 10 nice size shrimp in my order , a lot of white rice , Chinese mixed vegetables . I have leftovers for tomorrow and so does my friend . Our dinner cost us around $36 which the prices have gone up like everywhere else but at least we both got dinners for the next day . so for $36 we got 4 meals out of it total . which is awesome! The food is always consistently good although it has different tastes due to the new ownership I would not doubt just how much heart goes into making each plate. It takes a little bit of homegrown atmosphere and brings the flavors of traditional Chinese food to a new level. “Ordered food near closing time last night and the food was great , fast and hot as always. I have been coming here for 7 years now and I love it. Everyone is so friendly and I've never had an bad experience . My order is always correct . I usually get shrimp fried rice , chicken wings and fries. I also get the shrimp egg foo young every now and then. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.“

The only issue was that I had to repeat my address to her a million times and also the tip I told her to add was $1 more than I said.“

We ordered a large variety of items for a group of friends to share family-style, and all the dishes were a perfect combination of generous amounts of fresh ingredients prepared with top-notch technique. Would highly recommend the crab Rangoon (definitely the best the group has had) and the tenderloin beef. “We ordered lunch specials sweet and sour chicken, boneless spare ribs and wonton soup. The sweet and sour chicken was juicy and the rice is delicious requesting no veggies in it which they did ( some forget) big pieces of pork in the rice. The boneless spare ribs were thin and tender and the rice with vegetables is excellent. Wonton great broth with alot of wontons. They threw in a vegetable roll excellent and not greasy. We were very happy they delivered earlier then they said The only thing I regret is not giving the driver a bigger tip!“
